House Of Yes (2000) Part 9- It Will Be A Good Day

- Recorded on Halloween night in the House of Blues in Las Vegas, during their promotional tour for The Ladder of 1999. It is the first and only official live recording with the Russian Igor Khoroshev and Billy Sherwood.
Soon after Khoroshev was charged with sexual harassment and was fired from the band. By the time the live DVD and double CD was released, Sherwood had left the band, "due to disagreements with the inter-band politics".
Close To The Edge and Hearts were both performed, but excluded from all releases of the show.

I saw the Ladder live and this song left the audience on its feet. That doesn't happen with new materials people have never heard before. It's just a perfect composition by one of the greatest bands at their very best.
I was a bit cool on The Ladder at first, but it has grown on me. It's an excellent addition to the great Yes catalogue.

Steve Howe is such a master of the guitar. Maybe not the best at any one thing, but able to do more diverse things, more eloquently than anyone. Phenomenal.
Thank you for this wonderful compilation, varied, rich and diverse, much like Yes is capable of being.

This was such a great record. I’ve been listening to Yes since 1981, and I thought this one would bring them back to being a top band again. Still, a fantastic record. Squire was in perfect form, Howe was brutally brilliant, and Igor was a perfect keyboardist.
One of, if not the best, Yes song. So moving, so spiritual. How can one not be uplifted by this work.
The bass is here so in the background, but the amazing harmony of the trained chorale vocals of the bassist are as haunting and add as much as the tasteful yet amazing virtuoso guitar flourishes, here and there.
Chris was a great singer. He was a choir boy when he was younger. The sound of the 8-String bass he’s using adds a lot to this song. I’ve always loved Chris’s backing vocals.
Chris Squire. The soul of Yes. Passed away about 9 years ago. Deeply missed.
