Well done! Just like a FUE Hair Transplant. Find and extract from the donor area. Good job. Got to tackle similar job and I thank you for your version.

Thanks for the video. I'm going to lift a corner of my lawn and raise it to match the rest of the lawn before relaying the turf. Having watched this I'm more hopeful of getting a positive result.

Fantastic work. Great results. I like how you managed to keep the edging iron in the ground as you cut along the string line. I always find that difficult to do.

Definitely hard worker there. I would have used an EDGER to do most of that back breaking cutting at least.

My grass all seems to have roots extending 6 inches into the soil. You seem to cut through at around 2 inches. Are your roots shorter or does transplanting only the top 1/3 of the roots and leaving behind 2/3 work well?

Do you wet the turf before removing it? I’ve read that makes it easier?

    Nice work!
Wonder if the grass will stay grass, as rest of that area looks bald/mossy looks like there used to be grass there, but now gone?

Thanks Graham, in the final picture 4 months later it looked pretty green.

perhaps the reason nothing grows in that area is because its overshadowed by the surrounding trees and bushes? im guessing the re laid lawn might have the same issue.
also that cutting of the original turf looked extremely labour intensive... isn't there a tool for this?

Mate, there’s an invention called the wheelbarrow.Would have saved you a lot of time and back ache.

didn't explain nothing or tell us what that cutting tool was that he used to section out the squares before using the shovel to move it. it look like some sort of curved axe blade that he was stepping on but who bloody knows what it was. next video for me from someone else then.
