I just bought my T474 TYM 2 months ago, it came with Bluetooth speakers, ROPS led lights, roof top and a backhoe step and I absolutely love this tractor. 👍

We just picked up a new 574 cab hydrostatic drive version of this yesterday from a dealer 4 hours away. I've only been in the seat long enough to unload it off of the trailer but I am looking forward to learning this tractor. Keep up the good work!

I knew even though it wasn't in the manual there were grease zerks under that tractor, so I looked for them and found them. We don't have aTYM dealer anywhere near us here in Iowa. Cabelas (sp) used to offer 3 or 4 tractors that I am pretty sure were TYM. A friend of mine bought one and loves it. We had for a very short time, a TYM dealer 40 miles from me. That was gone in just a few months. I am all things tractors. I am all about tractors. I like them all. I looked at Mahindra and was pretty impressed with them. I like the Masseys and the New Hollands. I tried to do an interview with the Mahindra dealer but couldn't get him to commit. First time tractor owners might have problems doing maintenance properly as a result, but seasoned tractor owners like you can read between the lines. I recently purchased a T474 Hydro and absolutely love it. I shopped all the brands and kept coming back to the TYM machines. Yes, I would completely agree, the manual isn’t that great at all. As for the tractor, I’d buy another one if I wore this one out.

I have a JD compact tractor and on the backhoe they built a step on the left outrigger. As you let the outrigger down it open with it. When you lift it back up it folds back out of the way. See you on down the road. Stay safe and God bless you and yours.

Good one John! It will be interesting to see what the dealer finds out on the lack of flow(?) to the backhoe. It wouldn't take much, so maybe with a set of gauges hooked up, something might show up. If not, they can make pressure comparisons to another 474. Thanks and take care!!

Great review John! I've always been into Masseys but my closest dealer is 45 minutes away and there is a TYM dealer 5 minutes away from home, been through their lot a few times.

Thanks for the informative review, John. I was thinking of buying the 474 with the backhoe attachment until I came across this video. Did they ever fix the boom float and power issues or is the backhoe just useless?
Thank you Jason Barron for watching and the comment! My dealer did fix the boom float problem by cutting down the outriggers joysticks so the boom joystick will clear them. They got me a new center valve for the backhoe but I haven't had a chance to bring it to them so they can replace it and see if that will fix it. Yes sir. It is the center valve. The relief valve is popping off under lower pressure then it should. That got me a new center valve I just haven't had a chance to bring it back so they can change it again. Have a great weekend! See ya in the next one!
I just bought a cab 474. Quick question. Does your parking brake light come on when you have the parking brake set? Mine only comes on when the dash does a self test when the key is turned on.

There is other videos of the 474 being worked. Maybe there is somebody near you that is working it in the same type ground. Glad to see you are doing your homework before buying. today i decided to get the t574. It’s got a bit more power and is the biggest they offer compatible with a backhoe. I’ll let you know how it goes. @@LouisianaTractorworks

They did change the valve and they found the relief valve was popping off a few hundred pounds less thin it was set for making it weak on the hydraulics. It tested a lot stronger now that they change it. I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I will do an update video as soon as I get a chance. Have a good one!

On the float you could re-angle the inner controls to provide clearance. Thanks for sharing your experience with this tractor.

Thanks for the informative review, John. I was thinking of buying the 474 with the backhoe attachment until I came across this video. Did they ever fix the boom float and power issues or is the backhoe just useless?
Thank you Jason Barron for watching and the comment! My dealer did fix the boom float problem by cutting down the outriggers joysticks so the boom joystick will clear them. They got me a new center valve for the backhoe but I haven't had a chance to bring it to them so they can replace it and see if that will fix it. Good video, overall seems like the T474 has been really good except for the backhoe power issue. Looking forward to the update on the fix. How have those R14 tires been for you? Do you wish you had the traction of R1 at times? Thanks!

I heard a guy who has the t494 say that the loader joystick is not in a good place - has to reach for it. Just wonder if it is better on this smaller tractor?

Yes sir. It is the center valve. The relief valve is popping off under lower pressure then it should. That got me a new center valve I just haven't had a chance to bring it back so they can change it again. Have a great weekend! See ya in the next one!
I just bought a cab 474. Quick question. Does your parking brake light come on when you have the parking brake set? Mine only comes on when the dash does a self test when the key is turned on.

There is other videos of the 474 being worked. Maybe there is somebody near you that is working it in the same type ground. Glad to see you are doing your homework before buying. What RPMs do you run your 474 at? I have a 574 with Turbo and 1700 RPM seems to be a good spot for me.

What happened with the backhoe and the relief valve? Did it make a difference?
They did change the valve and they found the relief valve was popping off a few hundred pounds less thin it was set for making it weak on the hydraulics. It tested a lot stronger now that they change it. I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I will do an update video as soon as I get a chance. Have a good one!
@@LouisianaTractorworks Bad thing is still can't fix that design flaw with the controls on the backhoe. What dummy designed and didn't test to say hey this doesn't work???
My dealer shorten the control levers for the stabilizers so the boomfloat lever can clear it.
