@@maxducoudray Since Odin is gone , his enchantment might be gone. When he was dying, his spell to hold back Hela was broken, so the Mjolnir enchantment might be also, which lands itself to the theory of bad Cap, where he went back in time and actually did start working for Hydra. When they all tried the first time, he really couldn't lift it, but now that the enchantment is gone, he can. Thoe knew this was a possibility and couldn't risk letting him hold Stormbreaker, because of he's compromised, giving him access to the Bifrost could be detrimental.
Just one of the theories I like, since it was something that happened in the comics (Hydra Cap). 😅

Paused in the middle of your crying during the funeral to say: Your reaction (and those of countless others) is a testament to what Marvel did in the Infinity Saga. They told a cohesive story over the span of 10 years and 20+ movies, weaving together 100+ characters (too lazy to get the actual figure) and multiple story lines into one massive climax. Kids grew up watching them, and by the time you reached Infinity War, the characters felt like your friends. Seeing these in the theaters, you heard grown people weeping, just like you did here. It is an achievement never done in cinema before or since. Lightning in a bottle.

Nebula doesn't die when she kills her younger self because this is a different kind of time travel than you've seen in other movies. This time travel theory is not as linear as it is shown in other media like Back To The Future where only one single timeline or reality exists. Instead, when the Avengers traveled back in time, they created a bunch of alternate-yet-coexisting realities or universes.
Because of this, the younger Nebula is from one of those alternate-yet-coexisting realities, so anything that happens to her doesn't affect the older Nebula, even if you kill her. This is actually a real time travel theory often referred to as the "multiverse theory" developed by actual IRL theorists to resolve the problem of paradoxes within the more linear time travel concept we see in Back To The Future (like going back in time and preventing your own birth or even killing your younger self.)
The enchantment for Stormbreaker is different from Mjolnir. You don't have to be "worthy" to hold Stormbreaker, you just need the strength of gods and kings, which Thanos has. So it's possible to be strong enough to hold Stormbreaker yet not be "worthy" to use Mjolnir.
That being said, we see Cap briefly holding Stormbreaker without any problem after lifting Mjolnir. That can be explained by Mjolnir's enchantment. By lifting the hammer, Steve proves that he's "worthy" and is imbued with Thor's godly power. Worthiness implies a strong moral integrity and impeachable character. It's hinted that Steve has always been worthy as way back as Age Of Ultron when he made Mjolnir budge ever so slightly (it has been explained that Cap was merely faking being unable to lift it because he didn't wanna hurt Thor's feelings.) But because he's truly worthy of a god's power, Stormbreaker's enchantment allows him to lift it as well.
Vision didn't return when everybody came back because he wasn't turned to dust when Thanos snapped half of all people away in Infinity War. He died before that, and Hulk's snap only reversed the deaths of the people who Thanos snapped away. There's also the matter of the Mind Stone. Vision needed it to live, but the previous one was destroyed by Thanos, and the one used in this movie was taken from the year 2012 and had to be returned. That means there's no stone to put back in Vision's head in order to revive him.
A lot of the other questions you had do get addressed and explored in subsequent movies and shows. They don't just play it off like those five years didn't happen, and they don't ignore the ramifications of making people disappear for five whole years only to have them all suddenly return.

we must not confuse "wear" and "use".... Stormbreaker can be worn by everyone, but not used (groot is the first to have worn it. he is not a god, and he does not have that yet adult strength) ... Mjöllnir has several enchantments created by Odin, who says = only worthy people or the gods of thunder can wear it. Mjöllnir gives wearers the power of the elements (lightning, thunder, wind and rain), that's why Captain America could use lightning...
in the MCU, death are parallel dimensions... gamora is in the dimension of the soul... for "Vision" it's not the same thing, he can't be brought back to life, because he doesn't is not a living being (age of Ultron), Vision is the "infinity stone of the mind"...

It is a gigantic plot hole. Thor didn't even know where it was in the first place. How can Steve return it to the exact time and place. It doesn't even make sense for Thor to even have gotten Mjinor in the first place. The Thor of that time would've called it back as soon as it took off. Who knows what happened when that Thor didn't have Mjinor since as said before, Steve would not be able to return it to the exact time and place it was taken from, a new timeline would've been created.
The whole Steve returning to the past time is a complete mess on so many levels. Soooo many plot holes with it. For me it drops the movie out of talk as an A level movie. It is not the best movie of the MCU. There are others that came before it that are better.

    • @ronniebots9225
      @ronniebots9225 3 місяці тому +4

@@bryce253 You do get the fact that he has to return the stones to the "exact time and place" they where taken right? That means past Thor never missed mjolnir because it was never gone. Present Thor would have instructed Steve on every detail on taking the stone and mjolnir so that the moment Present Thor and Rocket jumps back to the present, steve is there in the shadows putting it right back thus making the stone and mjolnir gone for a second.
Same with the sorcerer supreme. The moment Hulk goes away with the timestone, Steve would be there right around the corner giving the stone back to the sorcerer supreme.
Or when Iron Man takes the stone from the base. the moment he walks out with the stone and his dad, Steve would already be there hiding to put the stone right back.
And since Steve was traveling trough time, time itself becomes non issue. Time in the past doesnt keep going foreward as the same rate as the present because he can just drop right in at the exact time and place he wants without issue. So even if they have the stone and mjolnir in the present for a couple of weeks, just by jumping back in time the stones and mjolnir would be gone for seconds or no time at all depending on the timing of Steve.
The only thing they left broken is Loki and the tesseract, but that gets resolved in the Loki series.
The only thing thats hard to grasp is that Steve was a celebrity in the past (remember agent Coulson hsi trading card of him). So he had to keep his appearence low. And also not spoil future events with his knowledge of the future to not split off a timeline where he would not be able to wait on the bench in the present. That also includes not telling Peggy he made out with her niece.

    2. Age of ultron where everyone tried to lift mjolnir and cap moves it a bit.
    3. On your left from the beginning of winter soldier gets repeated back to cap when the army shows up to fight Thanos.
    4. In civil war when they all fought at the airport and Hawkeye introduced himself to black panther, tchalla says I don't care but here he calls him by his name to get the gauntlet.
    5. When cap and spidey fight in civil war they talk about where they're from in New York and when cap throws the hammer to help Peter he yells "hey brooklyn"
    6. Infinity war when Thanos gives his speech about what it feels like to lose, he mentions "the legs turn to jelly" After iron man snaps and Thanos sees his army turning to dust, he realizes he just lost and the first thing he does is sit down because his legs did exactly that.

Cap is returning the things taken from the past, so the past can happen as it did. Mjolnir also needs to return to the past, or Thor would not have had it to finish Thor: The Dark World, this would change the past and potentially undo their work to restore what was lost.
Imagine Steve Rogers, after all we've seen him go through, going back and keeping a low profile for all the decades he had missed. One mis-step and he could break their work to preserve the past.
Worst worst case would have been Thanos, having realized what they were doing and succeeding in his revised plan of "destroy the entire universe and rebuild it from the ground up"
Tony had already made Pepper head of Stark Industries, they subsequently married, so logically she would _remain_ in control of Stark Industries, not "take over"

U see..even in this state...that thing hasn't changed...Thor is hesitant to help..but it has nothing to do with him thinking he is above everyone...if anything..it is unfortunately the opposite..he doesn't want to help because he thinks his help and sacrifice is useless..he is afraid he will make it all worse. but he is still worthy..and his help is still worth it

When Nebula killed her past self, it didn't erase her because MCU time travel doesn't work like BttF time travel. When you make a change in your past, you don't change anything about the timeline you have lived in up until that point, you create a "branch" timeline. Doing anything in the past like that creates such a branch, not just killing your past self. Sometimes it's confusing to explain MCU rules, but the main thing to keep in mind is that the way it's structured prevents paradoxes. The reason Marty started to disappear in BttF was that it was a paradox for him to exist if his parents didn't get together, and the paradox was resolved by erasing Marty. With branch time travel there are no paradoxes because you can't change anything, you can only create new branches.

Yes, the "If they are worthy" was put on Mjolnir in the first Thor movie, by Odin. Stormbreaker the axe, does not have that condition. Anyone can lift it (I mean it's a heavy axe so not a weak person, but they don't need to be worthy). And Thors "I knew it" Cap was worthy all along. When he moved it back in Civil War, he could have lifted it, but stopped. I thought before that Cap was Almost Worthy back then and became worthy by this point. But someone pointed out to me that there is no "Almost Worthy" that would allow it to be moved at all. If you have almost all the proper levels of all the qualities it takes to be worthy, but not quite, you're still not worthy, so it wouldn't make any difference in moving the hammer until you reach that point. So Cap was worthy at least as far back as Civil War. He just stopped himself from lifting it.

I really liked your reaction. It is anecdotal that the one who, in Cap's opinion, would not give his life for anyone, is the one who ends up sacrificing himself for half of the living beings in this universe. Tony's character has been one of those that has changed the most from the beginning until now. And that, in the end, the rules and the deal that Tony and Steve reached could not be fulfilled. You know, there were three rules, "Get the stones, bring back the vanished, and DON'T DIE TRYING." Not everything could be accomplished, though, Tony is very smart, and somehow, he knew it. That's why he left the recorded message. In the end, Cap does not take Mjolnir as a weapon that he uses, but rather stops, like the stones, returning it to the point in time when it was "stolen."

It's not often that a movie theater audience has such a reaction.

Poor, sweet, dear Cristy. Sending hugs and love to you for all the sadness you suffered through, yet again, in the name of an Avengers movie.
This movie was devastating in so many ways but uplifting in so many as well. I was happiest that Clint got Laura and the kids back, though he went through the absolute trauma of losing his entire family and then having his best friend yank herself free of his grip to fall to her death. All the surviving Avengers have PTSD but Clint maybe worst of all. I remember how I felt when my best friend of 40+ years died on the operating table a couple of years ago. I still get wrecked emotionally when I suddenly think of her and realize I can't talk to her or go visit her any time I want. For Clint that feeling has to be so much worse. But that was a perfect Avenger Parents moment: each of them trying to sacrifice themselves for those they loved and the Avenger 'kids' at home. There really was no choice there that would feel like it was okay.
Tony hugging Peter was so touching. That was a kind of happy tears moment.
When Cristy drops into espanol we know she's feeling very worked up. Poor Cristy again!
Sigh. Captain Marvel's last minute entry was dramatic and kinda cool but once again she was just the cheat code to save them from an impossible situation. OP characters are the easy solution to any issue for bad writers.
Tony's death spelled the end of the MCU, for sure. His last defiant act was the same as his act of defiance at the end of the first movie: "I am Iron Man." He began it, and it ended with him too. Still heartbreaking.
This is the absolute end of the MCU for me, and judging from what I've heard from my comic-loving friends who watched the MCU after this it seems to have been all bad writing, bad directing, and nothing to watch. Sad, but for a company that insisted on hiring people who weren't comics people and telling them not to learn anything about the source material, this kind of garbage was inevitable. Still very disappointing though. But I can always watch Phases 1-3 and of course read any old comics to relive well done stories. 🙂

A good measurement to feel out. Once you see a trailer, most principal photography has already been done by three to five months. Before you see a trailer.
At that point they are playing around with the editing and effects to polish it out.
Marvel at that time was in a mode to complete several films at once then release them two to three years later, as well as give them a buffer to reshoot if they needed to.

The one, horrific, thing that I wonder about is when everyone returns with the finger snap, how about those that were on the roads in vehicles, in the waters on boats, or especially in the air riding helicopters or planes. 😥

When Rhodie says this is the part when spikes come out he was referencing Indiana Jones and the temple of doom ... the Kid in that movie is in Loki season2 and Indiana Harrison Ford is going to be the new Red Hulk in the next Captain America Wait until you watch Spiderman No Way Home and Dr strange 2 when professor x appears

Nothing happens to you if you kill your past self. Remember, this time travel rules are of the "changin the past doesn't alter your present, it just splits into an alternate timeline" type.

Watching the portals/final battle scene in theaters is an experience I'll remember for the rest of my life. The theater I was in had people clapping, cheering, sobbing...everything.
