We hope you all enjoyed this video! We've had a similar DPS a year or so ago for Mythic+ and wanted to recover it from a raid perspective with no one better than Cayna. This can, of course, be applied to all your DPS gameplay. Be sure to leave any feedback you might have in the comments below. Thanks very much for watching :)
Tbh been back for 3 months since I played back in TBC. I just wish I could get a active guild to actually push the harder content I mean 430 prot pally not even been to a bfa raid, tf you might ask? Yeah because guilds are either dead, dying or require an ilvl that if you had it wtf you going the leave the guild your in. Because they are probably running myth or heroic ep. I mean I like your guys content it just puts a unrealistic goal for me because I know the stone walling of these two issues has not just impacted me. The best players are not always the best gears.
Something often overlook yet memed on the most is "how to optimize character control". Everyone has heard of "keyboard turners" and "mouse clickers". It would be really nice seeing Method post a video detailing the different ways and styles Method players use to interface with their PC. Keybindings, layouts, actual visual views on the keyboard of them in action moving and casting at the same time, etc. I think it would make things "click" for a lot of people and up their game considerably.
Mazzemax lol that’s exactly attitude of lots of mouth breathers who play this game assholes standing in shit while getting cleaved and then bitching about not getting enough heals 😂
having to explain mechanics week 2 of progression on a boss is the most blood boiling annoyance in casual guilds. It's just pure laziness not knowing mechanics and a personal plan going into a fight.
Supernova12034 you do not know WoW then, if you raid then you need to know the fights, if you don’t wanna put in the time to learn the get the fuck out
One thing many people struggle with which is actually a big factor in damage that people dont realize. Movement, knowing when to get up resources that you can pump out while moving to avoid dead time which happends alot in raids. I see people knowing their rotation but they lose shit ton when they start moving
7:50 accepting mistakes so what mistake did i do if during a whole raid with 25 others i got hit by 90% (8-9 times from 10) of boss "random" mechanics i really was thinking about uninstalling wow after that like wtf why do i get hit by everything in that hour or how long it took i wasn't even best dps around 6th place well at least it was good for training and now it's an almost automatic reaction to do what iam supposed to do to not wipe the raid
I would also probably add: communication (before, during and after raid - knowing what the strategy is; asking for help during a fight and helping others) and also macros, a lot of utility can be put as mouseover macros not having to target swap for essential things saves time, which is also a dps improvement
One greate tips for performers is your gear: I recommend a Razor Naga mouse or any mouse with a number pad and a keypad like a Logitech G13. That gives you the ability to move your character with an analogue stick with your tumb while casting with the rest of your fingers. Blind cooldowns, utilities and abilities that's off the GCD on the Naga number pad.
I think that weakaura is a bit annoying to set up for a raid, and sometimes hard to see. I would recommand Exorsus Raid Tools, it has an option for showing cooldowns, it's much easier to set up and easier to see as well.
@@NorthzYT There's a huge difference between casual social guilds, and casual Mythic raiding guilds (more commonly known as semi-hardcore guilds). World rank 1000 guilds usually raid 2-3 times a week, which is pretty much the lowest amount of time commitment one can put in while also expecting any kind of meaninful progress.
Yeah like what? A casual guild for me is currently in the middle of heroic clear. No actual casual guild will touch Mythic at all. And these people are already better than probably 60% of the playerbase - the raiding scene probably is only around 40% of the playerbase.
Most of the tips here can also be applied to healers. Knowing your class in and out including all talents even the ones you arent currently using and all the traits and trinkets etc. Being able to swap to another trait or talent to minmax something for progression can make or break an early kill. As a healer, knowing what abilities to watch for and being prepared for them before they happen is important. The biggest different between a casual healer and a good healer is one that instead of reacting to damage taken, you know when damage will happen and youre prepared for it so less damage is taken and its much less chances of that damage killing someone. This is why disc priest is considered to be a difficult spec, because you have to plan ahead of time for damage. Being able to read your dbm or big wig bars to help prepare for whats going to happen is a big thing. As someone who held the orb on mythic grong and needed to be able to take the least amount of damage as I can I had to watch my bars to know when I needed to run out of the group to not get hit with the aoe poop of the ground and knowing when I needed to run into the group so I didnt get feared. Secondly weakaura is the most important addon in the game and can really help you out. I started off grong progression just watching my bars but I eventually found a weakaura that told me when to move out of the group. No, I techn didnt need the weakaura but it was insurance that I didnt mess up and made it easier on me so I was able to comfortably focus on other things. Like cayna said, using weakauras doesnt make you a bad player it just makes you a player who plays smarter rather than harder. As a healer your positioning matters, you need to learn how to pre-position yourself so that you dont have to constantly move and only move when needed to for rng mechanics. Being able to multitask is super important so having all relevant information in a certain area (usually the middle around your character) helps. Weakauras, boss mods, and in your case raid/party frames. You dont want them crowding your ui to the point that you cant see abilities but you want them in a general area so you dont have to look from one corner of your screen to the other to get the information you need. Another thing that good to track as a healer is the other healers cd's. Knowing when damage is about to happen and having something ready for it is a good thing but overlapping healing cd's is a BAD thing unless its needed. I was in a very casual guild once as a resto shaman and noticed that they didnt have a cd rotation but because I was tracking cd's I knew that every first burst of damage the druid would use his tranq and then use it again every time it was up off cd so I knew that I didnt have to worry ever about those certain bursts of damage and I knew when I would be able to get some extra dmg out on the boss, which leads me to the next thing. Damaging as a healer when there is nothing to heal is a big difference between good and bad healers. The more damage done to the boss the faster a boss will die thus more efficient kills and more progression. Next thing is to always check logs or any recording you have and ALWAYS trying to find places to improve. Having a competitive attitude is a good thing but doing it right can be a difference. In that guild I was in as a resto shaman, my goal was NOT to just beat the other shaman in group but was to beat myself. This also leads into practice. Yes it can get boring killing bosses you have already killed a bunch of times but what helps keep it interesting is always trying to beat your own best score. As a dps I am always trying to parse better every kill. I am honestly not happy until I have atleast an orange parse for each boss and even then I am always trying to our parse my highest parse. This way I never stop trying to improve and do better and this also gives me reason to not get lazy and practice more and bosses I have killed many times before. This sometimes means pugging bosses I have already killed with my guild that week for just pure practice if I feel like I wasnt doing something right. Pugging on alts all the time to get better as a general raider etc. Lastly and what I find important is to NOT be afraid of asking stupid questions. Sure people can be mean but getting made fun of for asking a stupid question in my opinion is better than staying silent and making the same stupid mistakes multiple times. Sorry its long but I wanted to be helpful.

I always have trouble finding a dps spec I can play 100% perfectly without looking at my action bars during raid, last class I was able to do this with was Fury War in WoD where it was just 1cd ability with 2 procs
Repetition is your friend. If you stick to a spec and play it for a long time the bindings will become natural to you. Then add in weakauras for procs so you can know when they're going off. You can add an audio cue to the WA so you don't even need to notice it on your screen if you want.
@@mendelsonja Took me 3 months to begin being in the top of my guild's dps chart. Stick to a class you enjoy and with time, things will start to get better.
The difference between "Casual" and WF players in general if having a guild or team of like-minded people and the organization to make sure that the right people get not only the right information, but the right loot. I would imagine there are tons of players with the right mindset and skills to perform at a "world first" level, but can't perform at that tier either due to time constraints or lacking the in-game support of a true, dedicated guild.
Yeah no. I've seen mythic trials join us, and they fuck up mechanics hard. Individual performance is what makes a collective group get to WF. You can't feed someone the best gear and hope they perform mechanics and rotation at a high lvl
That was me on my MM hunter back in BoD days. Still sitting up top, too. Only one BM hunter I've ran with has been able to beat me out, and it wasn't by much.
Its actually funny when you talked about doing the perfect rotation while dealing with mechanics at 2:20 and in the background theres a arcane mage completly messing up his rotation :D
@@Stompinwind ofc he did, take a look at 2:25, his evo is coming back up in 2 sec and hes going oom. What he should've done is refreshing his charges with arcane barrage, using evo, going back up to 4 charges and then use rop-3x arcaneblasts-arcbarrage-chargedup-2x arcaneblasts. He used charged up before evo so he will either go below 70% mana in his next rune phase or have to use arcane barrage way to early and lose dmg in his rune
There are two sides of the coin, one, where WF raiderds put enormous amount of time into the prepers (getting gear, consumables etc.) for the upcoming tier and proggresion (their raid time per day is like my guild's per 3 weeks), while the other side of a coin is that they are the ones who come up with strategies that others miminc, they are pretty good with their classes (sure they are on top of the the charts, but I know people who can perform quite close to them) and they are all able to study and play the boss on their own, so to summ it up, the diferences between WF and "cassual" players are time put into the game and knowlige of the game mechanis (and skill to some extend, but..)
The addons aren't required. They just make it easier so the speaker in the video is recommending them. You are completely capable of clearing the same content without the addons
What seperates casual and WF dps players? About 40 extra hours a week. I've had world top 10 kills, and I can tell you from experience that the difference in skill between those players and the players that I have now in a world ~750 guild is maybe 5%. That 5% could probably be achieved with the extra time that comes from raiding at a top level.
WHat the fuck you talking about? xD you cant play wow mythic bosess without any tracking addons xD and even if you had them there is 20 people with you soo it is still hard as fuck you must be like 9k dps in AOE xD
no? There are a lot of tips that are super simplistic that have no reliance on playing 24/7. Playing your class a lot? sure, but that is literally just practice making perfect.
Have you seen Gingi and Sco? Pretty sure they pull way more than you ever could dream of. :D Or hold up a way more social life. Hell, most people i know hold up a huge social life side who raid in top 100 guilds. o_O

If the tank dies, it's the healer's fault. If the healer dies, it's the tank's fault. If DPS dies, it's their own fault. There's always something to do to mitigate the mechanic or damage.
@method cayna frankly bro i expected u to spend at least 1-2 minutes of the video retaliating against those nobodies who were flaming u during the progressiong racing stream. but u said nothing to them. shame...
What separates wf Raiders from regular players? Easy, wfs hires boosters to play their account and grind artifact power for them, i used to work as a booster for method, i had a schedule. They hire boosters in ownedcore or playerAH.
this world first stuff is such a bore anymore. I mean they test the raid before it is even released and while I get it isn't tuned they still know the raid and it's main mechanics from raid testing. on top of this they use big wigs and such, which while I get everyone uses these and it is needed for us pleebs I feel a world first in of itself is no longer impressive. this isn't the days of 1-2 months with no kills on a boss. if you want to impress me then clear the raid first with no mods. idk why ppl even care about a world first with mods in 2019 personally. I mean sure being first is great but theactual fight is the same fight we all will eventually beat. if you ppl are pros then show us something impressive we cannot do like beat a current tier with no mods or something
howweroll7 that’s pretty casual for mythic raiding To clarify, world 1000 doesn’t mean bad. Its just different. I get cutting edge every tier at world 900ish, and it’s very causal. Bunch of world 50-200 players that can’t commit to the time required but still want to do the hard content.
@@Melodeath00 Yeah no. Casual is Curve at best. Casual people won't touch mythic at all besides maybe the first boss. Below WR 2500 is what I would maybe start to label "casual". And that is already 4/9 M. My old guild is casual. They are currently 4/9 Heroic.
u can be top 1000 and be casual... imo how much u raid separates HC , semi HC and casual from each other... example HC guilds raid every day 10+ hours during progress, semi hc raids 3-5 days week 3-6 hour raids and casuals do 1-2 raids week 2-4 hours... my guild was in top 1000 when we killed Ghuun on mythic and we raid 3 hours 2 times a week... i consider that pretty casual.
@@joshyman221 i said over time. They clear mythic bod in 2 hours or less in a week. Now a casual guild will do 2 or 3 nights 2 or 3 hours raiding. So yea over time casuals raid more.
@@TheAssirra That's just such a lie. As I said they literally stream it. It takes about 4-5 hours for their 'raid night' (due to multiple runs; obviously one run would take much less time for method at this point!!). And this excludes probably a lot of the alt catchup play they do in heroics. So if a casual raider spends 9 hours each week in a raid compared to 4hours for world first (in most extreme case). Now during the actual race about 100hours are crammed in on top of this in first 1-2weeks (some tiers more, some tiers less). So it would take about ~20weeks for a casual to catchup in time. And this is a minimum!!
@@joshyman221 a lot of these guys are in denial about this. The sad part is you're only talking about raid time. Most of those world first guys are playing wow as much if not more then a full time job almost everyday... compared to most of us playing 5-20 hours a week.
Casual : person with real life ( work, family, kids, university etc. ) Hardcore: stinky, fat, alone, no sex life ( own hand doesn’t count! ) no future, living with parents ..... sad story
Sco has a entire org, Lots of responsibilitiers, Massive soical life, And prolly a better body then you. he also has more w1 then anyone else:) Sorry am I missing something or is this a excuse to why you are casual?
Despite people telling you all game long how easy the game has become the gap between players seems to widen and today most players are absolutely terrible at WoW
Dps is still hard for some of us... not having enough time in game, not having the reaction skills, being a 'normal' person... This 'brainless' expansion is plenty interesting and challenging for most of us. I admire the skills of good players, I'm 'ok' player, and I'll never be ub3r leet and that's fine.
Whats a WF raider?
World first
@@ralfrudi3963 thank you

3:10 lol that hunter damage.
That was me on my MM hunter back in BoD days. Still sitting up top, too. Only one BM hunter I've ran with has been able to beat me out, and it wasn't by much.
Stop trying to make WF work as abbreviation
lmao i was thinking this too.
Its actually funny when you talked about doing the perfect rotation while dealing with mechanics at 2:20 and in the background theres a arcane mage completly messing up his rotation :D
he wasnt messing up his rotation
@@Stompinwind
ofc he did, take a look at 2:25, his evo is coming back up in 2 sec and hes going oom.
Method didnt have any warrior on that world first raid , that actually made me sad , yall could've gained a lot from execute phase at least.
we had a warrior dps on jaina...
@@warcraft1031 nice , good to know.
Reeves was there dude. hes a beast. They also had Justwait on prot war so that makes 2 warriors.
Don't even need to watch to know the difference is 18hrs a day.
Can we get a guide about how to be big dick dps and pop all the metters like Xerwo does?
Like for this wonderful WotLK music theme..
Also investing 100 millions into BiS gear is a nifty trick :)
Investing into Best-iLvl gear that you then vendor/disenchant after equipping (fix't)
Damn Lorgok is swole as fuck.
Hi from U.S.A. great video thanks for sharing . 😀
It's Cayna Pog
casual it is 8/9normal, 6/9 heroic and 1 boss mythic, that is a typical casual guild))))))
@IHS lol many guilds can't kill gnome in heroic, but first in myth so easy
IHS there are almost too many guilds that have 1/9m but cant clear the last 3 of heroic
IHS mythic champs is a complete joke of a boss. My guild killed it with 18 people a week before we downed heroic Jaina
Also, not getting banned for using XP exploits xDDDDDDDDD
you can use exploits all day and still be shit
Washichu Rehab that went over your head dude... He talks about josh getting banned
Kinda odd how the highest level of endgame in Blizzard's game requires 3rd party addons.
Moreso an observation than a criticism.
Anything over WR 1000 is not casual. You have a weird definition of casual. Usually casual refers to people who barely clear normal.
This is more of a "caster" dps guide. Cuz playing my DH or my warrior i can ignore a pretty good chunk of this video.
More important tip... Play to 20 ms
The difference between a really good player and average players is the need for a gazillion addons to hold your hands.
WHat the fuck you talking about? xD you cant play wow mythic bosess without any tracking addons xD and even if you had them there is 20 people with you soo it is still hard as fuck you must be like 9k dps in AOE xD
Best players in the world get people to make them addons lol.
Basically just play the game 24/7 lol.
no? There are a lot of tips that are super simplistic that have no reliance on playing 24/7.
Playing your class a lot? sure, but that is literally just practice making perfect.
The biggest thing that separates them is the casual dps players maintain an actual life outside of the game.
Have you seen Gingi and Sco? Pretty sure they pull way more than you ever could dream of. :D
Or hold up a way more social life. Hell, most people i know hold up a huge social life side who raid in top 100 guilds. o_O
@@Torguish you're full of shit considering these guilds require multiple fully geared alts, which requires multiple hour long raid sessions sometimes multiple times a day. It's literally impossible. Talking to dudes on discord is not a "social life"
@@lolwhodat Yes, and they tone is down a lot once the race is over. They pretty much crunch it.
A lot of them play other games too.
Not my fault you're talking out of your ass without - quite literally - *any* knowledge on the matter at hand.. :D
@@Torguish have u seen sco performing?
they even tried to 3 tank mekkatorque because sco wasnt able to play another character.
yes sco has a RL, but that sets back the method guild.
You sound jealous. These guilds get content on farm before your average casual completes progression. They’re just better than you.
One way to improve your dps is to learn how to key bind your spells and you will see that your reaction speed is way better.
This is all irrelevant because if you wait later in the patch you will get the better gear and Mythic raid will be way easier than it is now.
Cayna? dps tips? OMEGALUL
Nerd
it's not rocket science, just learn your class, get prioritized items and smash buttons.
This is basic stuff.
I really wish I could play live wow so I can compete or be with these guys,
If the tank dies, it's the healer's fault. If the healer dies, it's the tank's fault. If DPS dies, it's their own fault. There's always something to do to mitigate the mechanic or damage.

@method cayna frankly bro i expected u to spend at least 1-2 minutes of the video retaliating against those nobodies who were flaming u during the progressiong racing stream. but u said nothing to them. shame...
@IHS cmon i was trolling to have some fun. Dont take everything literally
@IHS i know. it was supposed to seem serious but it wasnt :D

What separates wf Raiders from regular players? Easy, wfs hires boosters to play their account and grind artifact power for them, i used to work as a booster for method, i had a schedule. They hire boosters in ownedcore or playerAH.
Mechanics > DPS
isnt this the standard moto for grey log dpsers?
@@graddeos Dunno, i pull orange/purple and it still is my moto.
World of Boostcraft, is played in another way bruh, just buy gold, buy boost. Ezwin
Boost to win? Not working well on wow.
Skill needed
You boost too skip leveling. You still gotta gear yaself lol
this world first stuff is such a bore anymore. I mean sure being first is great but theactual fight is the same fight we all will eventually beat. if you ppl are pros then show us something impressive we cannot do like beat a current tier with no mods or something
a VERY casual guild world 900 lololololopoo
howweroll7 that’s pretty casual for mythic raiding
To clarify, world 1000 doesn’t mean bad. Its just different. I get cutting edge every tier at world 900ish, and it’s very causal. Bunch of world 50-200 players that can’t commit to the time required but still want to do the hard content.
Everyone that plays a DH is a terrible person. #fact
Top 1000 in the world is NOT casual whatsoever lmao
It most certainly is. 1k world would be close to the kind of guilds that don't manage to get CE before the next tier.
@@TheNeonwing Rank has nothing to do with it. You are implying that you have to be shit at the game to be a casual, which is false.
WF raider puts 12 hours in day for 2 months to game ... that separates WF Raider from casual.
Except they did that for a single week. not 2 months. Casuals are actually way more in the raids over time than WF raiders.
Assirra you realize method stream their raids. 100% that statement is false for every guild I’ve been in as a ‘casual raider’
Min maxing vs bots lmao pve players pepelaugh
What the hell are you saying anyways!! LOL. can’t understanding a word you’re sayin’.
Casual : person with real life ( work, family, kids, university etc. )

Sad that people need a dps pve guide in this brainless expansion
let me guess, u got rank 1 on every boss in Uldir and BoD so far, so u decided ur too good for this brainless game?
Raiding still is very difficult. :)
This game would be much better experience without all the elitist twats who contribute nothing but criticism and negativity. Don't like it, don't play.
