Thank you for this powerful homily from the perspective of God and His Sovereignty .. and our dependence. You bring to mind what Venerable Bishop Sheen once preached on American Independence Day: "There should equally be a day of DEPENDENCE .. " our dependence on God .. and, we might add, of Thanksgiving for His many gifts .. which, in fact, we DEPEND ON, but for which we more often than not forget to THANK HIM.
It's like when you see a baby bear in the woods all alone and you think. Awww I can take bear and raise it and then you hear the baby bear say those dreadful words, "Mommy!" That's probably how demons feel when we call on Mary or Jesus
Can I make listening to this a novena?! It’s very short and impactful, just how I like it. Thank you. I hope everyone remembers the part about visionaries who do not submit to legitimate authority.
"Obedience is the shortcut to Holiness", struggling with what to do when Bishop wants people to stand after receiving Holy Communion instead of kneeling. Me and my children have been kneeling, but we feel like we stick out or draw attention to ourselves. Is this something that would fall under obedience? We are far from being a Traditional diocese, and there isnt one anywhere near by..
I struggled with the same thing at my parish. Trying to receive Holy Communion from a priest who won't distribute in the priest position, worrying about stepping on fallen fragments of consecrated hosts from those before me who received by the hand, kneeling with no kneeler to receive (not easy when you are 59!) I let it all go and took the humble route, I do what everyone else does. You answered your own question when you said "obedience is the shortcut to holiness". I believe God values humility in doing what the bishop says or anybody with authority over certain positions during Mass. Certainly this video post attests to that. May God Bless you.
God bless you, hold your ground; kneel before our Lord, showing that humility and obedience is what the true church has always told us to do. Stay strong we are in the battle of our lives

Right. The Jews have no more rabbis because their religion was dissolved upon the death of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The vests of their temple were rent into rendering it useless. Until now they do not have a High Priest and sacrifice. The Roman Catholic Religion have a Pontiff and Bishops and Priest and a Magisterium to teach us the Religion founded and established by Our Lord Jesus Christ in 33 A. D.
Even before Adam fell he worked and tended in the garden. I think dependence on God in work is trusting in Him to help us bring food for our tables in honest, hard work and what limitations we have, we leave in God's hands.
@@toheaveninjoy it is a deep discussion which does not lend itself to this venue. After all, we are all dependent on God whether we realize it or not. Case in point:. My husband's employer was just sold to an international investment firm. Anything can happen. 16 years ago, he was out of work for a year and we had to pack up and move across the country when my kids were in middle school. I don't know that we could stand another hit like that.

I have come to the conclusion that voting for Bernie Sanders in the primary is, all things considered, the best way to advance God's will in these United States. And I assure the good father who gave this sermon that I acknowledge my complete dependence on Jesus Christ.
Question to people out there for discernment of the blessed trinity..hypothetical question i believe in feeding all who asked..if a antichrist such as Hitler or satan himself would asked for food would you feed him? Would it be repay evil w good or resis the devil and he will flee..where do you draw line in the sand..or is there even a line for us to draw n put trust in jesus and be good samaritan..for the sake of his passion have mercy on us and the whole world...ave maria
OK, someone has to tell you. I dont want to hurt your feelings, but I have avoided every talk you've made because of your "sing-songy" voice and presentation. You dont talk like that in conversation, but put on this persona when you preach. For goodness sake, stop it! I would really like to listen, but I just cant take your manner.
I find there is much fervour in this priests tone... and his words have so much holiness in them, so I don't have any difficulty - but you could maybe try read his homily in the captions.
@@toheaveninjoy he is formal, not sing-songy. Judge? No, just a personal reaction. Remember, I was polite and charitable. I would like to listen, and often go to his titles in anticipation of a good talk, but as soon as I hear the first words, I'm gone. I just find his tone to be "prissy".

Piety demands obedience to just authority. This sounds like a what Archbishop Nelson Perez did in Ohio

How does dependence on God translate into our work life, specifically for wives?
Even before Adam fell he worked and tended in the garden. I think dependence on God in work is trusting in Him to help us bring food for our tables in honest, hard work and what limitations we have, we leave in God's hands.

I don't mean this sarcastically - am sincerely asking: Is enjoying wine and snacks on the weekend considered a deadly vice?
Only if you're a Mormon!
Aren't seraphim the most powerful and closest to God?
Twice this priest mentioned liberalism. Conservatism is also quite capable of being independent of God's power and will.

Does humility also mean letting go of my rights?
No, as long as performing your right doesn't hurt anyone in any way, including not hurting the unborn.
