    Thank you for this powerful homily from the perspective of God and His Sovereignty .. and our dependence.
    You bring to mind what Venerable Bishop Sheen once preached on American Independence Day: "There should
    equally be a day of DEPENDENCE .. " our dependence on God .. and, we might add, of Thanksgiving for His
    many gifts .. which, in fact, we DEPEND ON, but for which we more often than not forget to THANK HIM.

    It's like when you see a baby bear in the woods all alone and you think. Awww I can take bear and raise it and then you hear the baby bear say those dreadful words, "Mommy!" That's probably how demons feel when we call on Mary or Jesus

    "Obedience is the shortcut to Holiness", struggling with what to do when Bishop wants people to stand after receiving Holy Communion instead of kneeling. Me and my children have been kneeling, but we feel like we stick out or draw attention to ourselves. Is this something that would fall under obedience? We are far from being a Traditional diocese, and there isnt one anywhere near by..

    • @Christofascist_Hup
      @Christofascist_Hup 4 роки тому +4

      Piety demands obedience to just authority. This sounds like a what Archbishop Nelson Perez did in Ohio

    • @happylittletrees5668
      @happylittletrees5668 4 роки тому +3

      I struggled with the same thing at my parish. Trying to receive Holy Communion from a priest who won't distribute in the priest position, worrying about stepping on fallen fragments of consecrated hosts from those before me who received by the hand, kneeling with no kneeler to receive (not easy when you are 59!) I let it all go and took the humble route, I do what everyone else does. You answered your own question when you said "obedience is the shortcut to holiness". I believe God values humility in doing what the bishop says or anybody with authority over certain positions during Mass. Certainly this video post attests to that. May God Bless you.

    Churches Confuse. It is easier to Love God when you Seek Jesus and let Him be your Teacher. Jesus Said..”Let no man be called rabbi.”

    • @lucillebonds2196
      @lucillebonds2196 Рік тому

      Right. The Jews have no more rabbis because their religion was dissolved upon the death of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The vests of their temple were rent into rendering it useless. Until now they do not have a High Priest and sacrifice.
      The Roman Catholic Religion have a Pontiff and Bishops and Priest and a Magisterium to teach us the Religion founded and established by Our Lord Jesus Christ in 33 A. D.

    • @jeraldene007
      @jeraldene007 4 роки тому +3

      Even before Adam fell he worked and tended in the garden. I think dependence on God in work is trusting in Him to help us bring food for our tables in honest, hard work and what limitations we have, we leave in God's hands.

      @@toheaveninjoy it is a deep discussion which does not lend itself to this venue. After all, we are all dependent on God whether we realize it or not. Case in point:. My husband's employer was just sold to an international investment firm. Anything can happen. 16 years ago, he was out of work for a year and we had to pack up and move across the country when my kids were in middle school. I don't know that we could stand another hit like that.
