    fear is trully a lie. if you will try to find the lie that is behind that fear, you'll find it for sure.God bless you Mike.thanks for everything

    It is true, fear is often based on exaggerated view of situation and you have to change your mind to get over it.

    in my opinion its a daily task that you work through each day in prayer. I personally was at a point in my life when anxiety was tearing me apart. I have worked at it each day . i continue to work on it with prayer, reading God's word, and surrounding myself with him all day long. this verse in scripture always helps me out . Lamentations 3:22-23 "The faithful love our the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning."

    I constantly believe the lie that I'm not interesting enough, or the lie that I'm going no where in my life, or - here's my biggest one - the lie that says I'm not loved by the family I'm living with. I live in fear of being the "wrong" kind of person, so much that it seems like I have no personality. So when it's time for me to be the fun, motivated young adult that my parents see in me, I crawl back into my shell when I'm around my grandparents, because of those lies.
    I just saw this vid for the first time, just when I was starting to think that when I pray, God can't answer back.
    Thanks be to God, and thank you, Mike Donehey. God bless you.

    This is very true...every time i am afraid in my spiritual life it comes from believing the bad things that make me feel unworthy of God. However, when God opened my eyes and I saw what His truth is, my fears left.

  • @Williamwestp24

    Exactly. God doesn;t want us to fear like love him out of obligation because we fear of this hell crap but fear him in a way that we just love him because he love us unconditionally. Fear really shouldn't been used in the bible but unconditionally just love Him the same way he love us. Love has no fear.

    This reminds me of what Pastor Joseph Prince from Singapore always says: Right BELIEVING leads to right living. When we believe right, then we will LIVE right. You are so right, Mike. Whoa.... Every fear can literally be traced back to a lie - a lie that we believed. My dear friend once told me, "make no agreement with the enemy" It's something I hold close to my heart. So good! So So Good! So glad I recently discovered your video journals. #Life changing!

    This is the reason why I love 10th avenue songs so much! Besides the awesome music, itself, its got amazing lyrics that can also be looked deeper into.
    I also think its awesome that you guys do vid journals - because some songs do require help with interpretation. And its just cool to know how you came up with the song.
    But I also love your songs, because for me, they require no interpretation. They go straight to my heart.

    Mike, that "little phrase with a few syllables" is actually the biggest thing that has stood out to me in that song because I have struggled with fear and anxiety in the recent past. That phrase and also "by your side" was a song that actually got me thru a lot of anxious nights (in the dead of night, whenever you call").

    "The gift of the fear of the Lord is a virtue of hope. We often think of hope and fear as mutually exclusive, but the fear of the Lord is the desire not to offend Him, and the certainty that He will give us the grace necessary to keep from doing so. It is that certainty that gives us hope.The fear of the Lord is like the respect we have for our parents. We do not wish to offend them, but we also do not live in fear of them, in the sense of being frightened."

Yet, lately God's been showing me that many of the patterns in my life that I could never quite put my finger on are a result of fear. This!!! If I can grab a hold of this truth and act on it. Whoa! This could literally transform my life RADICALLY. Please agree with me in prayer that I will have the courage to latch on to this truth and not let go. Make no agreement with the enemy. Wow

    Dude. This song came on Klove today and, don't get me wrong, I love the song, but it kinda hit me today. I've been extremely stressed and it was lightly raining and when I heard "Lift up your head, let the rain fall on your face," I connected to the song so much more.
    I also would hear the line "Fear is just a lie" and tried to interpret it but I love hearing it from you so much more as to exactly what it's supposed to mean. Thanks so much, Mike.
    "Do not be afraid."

    loving it. The bible tells us to hate sin. When we commit sin it hurts God because He knows it's not good for us that's why it's sin and He tells us not to do it in the first place. When we commit ourselves to God we offer our lives as living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship (Rom 12:1). If someone truely loves God they want to please Him and be like him.

    So true, fear is based on lies.....from the father of lies, the accuser of the brethren, who tries to make the believer think that God is angry at us.....when God is the author of the truth....the truth that sets us free...that God will never be angry with us ever ...because Jesus took away our sins once and for all and has made us righteous, holy, accepted, perfect and blameless by his obedience....and not our works or performance

    • @MathewSimonGospel
      @MathewSimonGospel 8 років тому

      +CaSeSeNsItIv3 Jesus was preaching to those under Law who had to fear God. We are not under the Law Romans 8 "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” WE are not under Law that you fear God and hell......we are sons and Fathers dont send their kids to hell.

    • @MathewSimonGospel
      @MathewSimonGospel 8 років тому

      +CaSeSeNsItIv3 You don't understand. We don't have to be aware of "falling into hand of God". That verse you quote is from Hebrews 10 which was written to Jews going back to the Law before their Temple was destroyed. There is no fear in love, and He loves us not for us to fear Him. If you think you need to fear God about going to hell, let me be bluntly honest with you - I used to be like this for many years until I understood the Gospel of GRACE - Christ has done everything for us. You need to correctly divide between LAW and GRACE. Your mindset is of LAW and fear, not GRACE. Until you fully realize what Christ has DONE for you, you will always be in fear of God - fearing hell. As long as you think you have to "do" something, then fear will be there. By Christ's obedience we have been made Righteous forever apart from our sins and apart from our works. Christ lives in us by GRACE.

    • @MathewSimonGospel
      @MathewSimonGospel 8 років тому

      +CaSeSeNsItIv3 Thanks and God bless you too, may He open your eyes to His grace and not on your performance - setting your eyes on Jesus in you - our life, our righteousness, our holiness, and take away the focus on the flesh which is dead anyway. "You are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit".

I pray that God gives you wisdom & strength to beat this becoz the reason that lie is being told to you is becoz satan knows you have SO much to offer in life. It took me many years to see through the fog and lies and I look back and wish I had known. (contd. #3) sit here and try to tell people who to love. "America the brave, still fears what we don't know." Such a good verse...if you sit and truly reflect on the effects homosexuals have on your life, or how difficult their life is because of their sexuality - you will see that their suffering is rooted in oppression given to them by people like you.

    To fear God is also to (the closest synonym I can think of is) respect/obey God. It's really hard to explain, but it's kind of like a parent. As a kid if you do something wrong, it's like "oh no, what if my parents find out!" or "I know I'm getting in trouble for this". Having that "fear", or respect, for your parents/guardians generally causes us to do the right thing. Of course, God always knows what we do and there's no hiding, so it's more of a "you know God is watching so don't do it" deal.
