You did a wonderful job, and you learned all about the game Tai-Pan in the process! Merry Christmas, and may you get some Struan-brand opium under your tree. It's opi-yummy!
You were the shining star on top of our Christmas tree sir... you need to do "Little Drummer Boy" for your channel, possibly with Neil RMC as Bing Crosby to your David Bowie!
Well this has put me in the Festive mood. A brilliant version of the Twelve Days of Christmas and a pretty good looking game by the end of it! I need a mince pie now. 🎄🎅
Thank you Mister Snorkers, not only for your absolute nonsense but for the huge amount of support for other purveyors of retro nonsense. It's appreciated. Have a lovely Christmas. Seasonal felicitations to yourself and your discerning viewers.
I watched the film "That Christmas" on Netflix last night where the kids made Christmas better. That was brilliant! No Snorkers glasses seen though.... I got those thanks to RoseTintedSpectrum!
Those glasses are courtesy of RoseTintedSpectrum after I broke the arm off the Official Pair and tried to fix them with duct tape! Merry Christmas Daph!
You are more than welcome sir, for all your support throughout the year. May Santa find your Spanish Chimney and stuff it with chorizos! Oh hang on, that sounds a bit rude. Merry Christmas!
Brilliant work as always, Snorkers - loved the sleigh parts (very innovative and funny!) in particular, but also once again you massively improved the original game with your Snorkified version. The song collaboration with your fellow retro UA-camrs was a nice touch as well. 😊
Thank you! We had the sledge in the shed, and I bought the little golden sleigh in a charity shop, along with the reindeer. I had to do some photo editing to animate them though. Often the biggest visual impact is the colour. Just like "Light's Out", the background was cyan which doesn't go "night". Blue would have worked, at a pinch. And the spectacular was a lot of fun to put together!
@@WhatHoSnorkersAh you're welcome, and thanks for that info - always interesting to hear how you create your videos! Yeah - I think black is definitely best for "night", and creates a nice contrast against the other colours used. Oh yes - a lot to do for the spectacular, I'm sure, but a lot of fun, too!
It's what the fun is all about! It's worse on the Commodore 64 as you're either printing playing card symbols or POKEing random numbers... Merry Fuddle Christmas to you too!
I think it's VERY similar. It may not be the exact one, or it might be. I know that Italian developers could have quite a relaxed attitude to these things. It's certainly the same vibe. The actual LoM font has been dumped, so I will go and compare later!
N31 is exactly the same font as Lords of Midnight. You can get the Lords of Midnight font quite easily through a program called UltraSet that came out in 1986!
@@LogrusUK You were! N31 and the Lords of Midnight font are identical, down to the very last byte. I can't say how Roberto Colombo got it, of course. Maybe he copied it from the screen, maybe he dumped it. But it IS the same!
I was going to ask how you got all those UA-camrs to join you in your Christmas song but given half of them look look like you’re pointing a gun at them from behind the camera I think I just answered my own question? 😄 Great job taking an OK game & improving it, James & season’s greetings to you.
I was inspired on the boring drive down, and I wrote up some lyrics, and I asked folks if they wouldn't mind singing one "day" each... and the Big Red Arrow Club obliged. I didn't tell them what the other days were, of course. Keep the magic! For a type-in, 16K it's good fun. It didn't take long to type-in, the worst bit was the scan quality. And it works. And then there's lots of room for Snorkerfication! Happy Yuletide to you sir!
I don't think you'd be able to make it 16K since AFAIK the interrupt service routine needs to be in uncontended RAM otherwise you get ULA snow which wont be as nice as the new snow. Deck the Halls with bum notes too ;)
Yeah, I listened to it with my wife and some notes went wrong. I was transposing the notes while she was sleeping so couldn't listen back. I got most of them right though, which isn't bad, especially as there are 5 carols and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer too :) I think for 16K I'd need to lose the snowfall completely for 16K, or lose a lot of the music. I cleverly saved a lot of space by having variables instead of lengths for most of the tunes though. Milky Way really is a lovely routine. I remember when I first used it on Galactic Empire that you had to turn it off before clearing the screen and on again. It crashed all the time. This program was a lot friendlier with it.
@@WhatHoSnorkers Gameplay could probably be improved by making the roof smaller so you get more rounds... there's no reason for the roof to be 8 characters high? Rudolph's red nose was a massive improvement anyway. Also carol at the end excellent lol ;) EDIT: good use of the disassembler though top marks
Also I can't ever unhear some medsoc thing at uni where they replaced "deck the halls with boughs of holly" with "rub your balls with KY jelly tra-la-la-lala-la-la-la-la"
Merry Christmas Snorkers! 🎄
Honoured to be a part of this 😁

That's quite the collab at the end! 😁🎄
It is! The Big Red Arrow Club were super supportive and full of good ideas!
A work of art! Thanks for letting me be part of it

There is no Christmas without a Snorkers Christmas spectacular!
Thanks for inviting me to be a part of this :)
Thank you Binni! This is the 4th year in a row I've managed to do one, so hopefully I've started a tradition!
A wonderful way to bring in the Holiday.
Thank you! Then I've done what I set out to do! :)

Mince pies for everyone! Just watch out for chimneys...
Aww, what a marvellous spectacular at the end and a lovely watch! And great work as always adding some Snorkers magic to a type-in. Merry Christmas!
Thanks Sharka! It was a lovely discovery that it hadn't been typed in, and then I was inspired for the Spectacular! :)
Amazing ending to this one, Merry Red Arrow Christmas everyone.
Look mum, I'm in a Snorkers video!! Happy Christmas mate, this was awesome ❤

Merry Christmas to you too, and to everyone out there in UA-cam land!
A Christmas miracle! 💖
It is indeed, and it didn't need Dwayne Johnson to save Christmas either... or me as those women on the beach...
this was amazing. happy christmas!
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!
five Vikings.. Genius.. merry christmas snorkers
I was trying to think of something on the M25 to replace 5 Go-old Rings... and Vikings popped in to my head!
Merry Christmas to you too!
Thanks Snorkers. Merry Christmas everyone.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
What a jolly game, jolly video and mighty jolly conclusion! Merry Christmas, everyone!
It was jolly good fun doing this! Merry Christmas!
I... was not prepared for that ending 🤣🤣
Those are the BEST kind of endings!
I want some Snorkers glasses so my Christmas is all Snorkerfied!

Happy Christmas!
Merry Christmas Doc! May your days be merry and light, and may all your Christmasses be bright!

Cracking stuff snorkers
Thanks Jim! Something for everyone here I think... apart from the Fortune Telling Fish!
Thank you very much, Señor Snorkers for this awesome gift!! ¡Feliz Navidad! 😀

If Rudolf had no nose, how does he smell?
Awful! Poor Santa spends every Christmas Eve staring at Rudolf's bottom. Imagine all the farts. That's why Rudolf's nose is so red, chemical burns...
Bish, please!
Bish better have my type-in!
WhatHoHoHo
WhatHoOhNo! You're flying too low!
At least this year I didn't transform into Santa Claus by spinning around like Wonder Woman!

Sometimes I wonder if the whole of BRA isn't just an elaborate attempt to get the most people doing the most silly things at all times.
It's the joy of being part of a creative community. Otherwise I'd have had to had different Snorkers characters doing each line...
