being a person who likes dragons, i object to them always being portrayed as "the bad guys" much better the dragons are defending the Dam from dam chipping archeologists. Also i am not sure i can spell Archioligists. Great Video as always Snorkers. :)
Glad you liked it! Perhaps the Dragons here are trying to return Wales to its natural state, getting rid of those dams. Apparently built to supply Birmingham with water. Rhayader is named after a waterfall that has long ago been drowned or something. Dragons are fun. "Flight of Dragons" is brilliant :)
Thank you! I spotted some kind of SPLODGE in the original and realised it was the shot hitting the water, so why not make it blue? You can't recolour the graphics dynamically, which is why I had to have red dragon, blue dragon, gold dragon. :)
6:55 AH!! Good grief that’s a big arrow! Well we can’t miss it. 😄 FYI: I like to imagine you walk around town in a pith helmet & I refuse to have my illusions shattered. Some neat improvements there. I don’t have a physical Dragon 32, though emulation is realistically the more practical solution. Nice work with your Welsh language, it’s not trivial translating it. Fun video, thanks. Those binoculars genuinely very nearly provoked a spit take! 😄
Huzzah! I've certainly walked around Norwich in that suit! The big difference I've found between the XRoar emulator and an actual Dragon 32 is the colour buff. In XRoar it's white, which is really handy for doing the Welsh flag. Yes, it's a fascinating language with how the start of words change, not the end! Glad you enjoyed it!
I saved this video as a treat for myself. I don't work Sundays and Monday and instead of sitting back and having a beer, I have Snorkers. And as always, fantastic work!
It does! It also broke collision detection, as it looks for two very specific pixels to be on (in the mouth and the head), and neither were on in frame two! But it does look a lot more CHOMPY doesn't it?
You have a bug at 8:17. The dam eater (not a dragon) takes out two squares of the dam at once. I theorise that this is because the dam eater (not a dragon) is moving upwards at the same time as it touches the dam, possibly in combination with the block beneath already taken. Another one at 15:24 where the gold (not yellow) dam eater (not dragon) has neglected to put its teeth in.
Good spot. I had issues with some of the collision detection, especially once I increased the speed. I re-ordered the code a few times and tried to tidy it up, but there's always going to be mistakes I reckon. It became a lot easier to test once I found that F12 speeds up the emulator (while pressed). Waiting for all the graphics to draw got old quickly!
I think I took the A5 one day, was near Wrexham, was on my way to Bangor and I wish I could have stopped to admire the surreal view of seeing a horizon that was just fields, the sky was visible but you really had to crane your neck upwards. Fun drive. @@WhatHoSnorkers
Thanks Doctor Gallow! It's fun learning stuff. I haven't seen the terrifying Dam Eaters come up on your channel yet... imagine the tales of how they constantly seek to chomp away... perhaps one of Barnes-Wallace's experiments gone wrong, the bouncing crocodile...
The finest in the world! After the Dam Busters raid they put up cables across the valleys to protect them! The actual answer is that I recorded the Snorkified version, and then noticed that the dragons were lurking at the bottom of the screen. (Small chance of going up OR down, and they can't go DOWN). So when I came to the Welsh version, I could quickly thicken the base of the damn! Huzzah!
Melltith y pharaoh! I couldn't be bothered to go to the attic to get a cowboy hat, or to the boiler cupboard to get the vacuum cleaner out, so Egypt it was!
If I had typed that in I'd have demanded my money back due to the premise being dam misleading. Far from eating, the dragons look like they're flinging themselves at the dam and kersploding. Why do they hate the dam so much they'd be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice? What sort of message is this teaching our children? It's high time we demanded some dam accountability in this unregulated industry - who's with me?
You can't fool me, I know the Dragon 32 doesn't exist! And no-one's going to believe there's a thing called "Wales".
The locals call it Cymru or Gyrmu, depending on the sign!
And again another masterpiece!!!. I will never get tired of saying how wonderful I find these videos!!! And Felíz St David's Day!!! :)
Muchas gracias! Glad you liked it! I'm getting better at putting these videos together!

"Let's make it WELSHER!"
"I am Megan. I am a woman."
I am dying laughing. Dam funny.
Hooray! Thanks Jim!
The splash from the cannons into the water is particularly nice! another 'lets make it better' done well!

You could have combined the two with a nice pint of Brains, keeping the Welsh theme!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
that one extra frame of animation adds so much

what a fun bit of Welsh.
I learned a lot from Duolingo, and the rest from Google translate. I can manage greetings though!
I know that Araf is slow, I see it all over their roads. They like you to enjoy your stay in Wales as much as possible. @@WhatHoSnorkers

Da iawn!
Thanks Daph :) Hope you're well!
I can't imagine being even nearly as knowledgeable about anything as you are on this subject, sir. A "dam" enjoyable watch, as always.

Fun and educational! Didn't know that Welsh dams are superior

Ive still got all these sheep dogs running around from that special.. 🤣🤣
You need 'em to keep those sheep in line! Hope you're doing OK Fletch... Viva La Long Weekend!
@@WhatHoSnorkers yes doing well and looking forward to the long weekend. 😅👍
Now I’m wanting an Indiana Jones story with dragons 😂
Like Tomb Raider III!
goddd your channel is the most british thing ive ever seen. carry on.
Oh yes! The shouty sergeant was based on a man from a British TV show, and the bald man is inspired by a man in a horror novel by Guy N Smith!
Damn, that was good!
Thanks Ponder! Damn glad you liked it!

Rhayader Raiders
The conversion of Rebelstar Raiders to the Dragon 32!
