- I was out getting the mail and was approached by this individual she wanted to ask a few questions but first she stated she wanted to keep the peace. and she started talking it was apparent that she never did want to keep the peace and at the end I pointed to my camera and let her know that she was being recorded.
She’s the type of lady to complain to the chef that the fish is dead.

Actually, the ‘retirement community/ over 55 age only’ is a legal and zoning designation. She’s definitely a Karen, but under that age not allowed as residents in those communities.

I lived with my parents in their 55+ community as their caregiver (Mom had heart failure and Dad had Dementia) even though I was in my 30's. The HOA board came by and told me I had 1 week to pack up. I paid an attorney $350 to write a letter pointing out the primary reason why I was there legally. My attorney followed it up with 3 more justifiable and legally reasonable reasons I could legally stay there. I never heard from the board again. Some of the best $$$ I've ever spent.
All 55+ communities are required by law to allow a certain percentage of the residents to be below the “55+” age requirement, failure to do so would be considered discrimination.

My mom use to bbn live in a 55+ community and she was getting the HOA called on her every week for having my 2 year old over the house they said he was too young to be there as if grandmothers couldn't babysit their own grandkids it got so bad they issued her a citation saying people under 55 could only visit 4 times a month. She moved out and bought a home with no HOA or age restrictions! Now I see why old people die and aren't discovered for weeks if their children can't visit or check on them.
Your Mom broke the rules but still had a lot of class to find a good solution. People move to 55+ communities because they don't want live near (...wait for it...) people under 55.

In all fairness she is correct about it being for 55 elderly aged and above only. However it will also depend on the owner of the property or the community home to decide which visitor or guest can enter to stay.

If it's an apt complex of some sort, which it appears to be by the mailbox and layout (some sort of trailer park type place), That would be age discrimination. There are low income, subsidized places, i forget the exact specifics, but most of the residents are social security retirement, so it gets a reputation as retirement type place. But a few ppl are social security disability. But if he's just visiting, then she might be literally mentally handicapped to think everyone in that facility, including visitors, has to be retirement age.

Because I was illegally evicted from my past residence, and I had gotten permission from three parties to take up the vacant house in said estate, those three parties where the property management/landlord. The elderly who lived there, and and caretakers so they knew to expect me.
Absolutely nobody had a problem with it and I'd even happily help out the women if they where carrying shopping home etc etc.
However, there was one woman there who out of nowhere a year and a half into me living there started smacking my front door at half 11 in the night screaming "you're the devi"(talking about me) - "Lucifer lives here."
Point being you can't escape crazy, he's house sitting. He's well within all legal rights to be there. As was I but I still had a run in with someone very similar to her. I think the lady was saying that he's a young man staying!! at an older person's home and it's a senior community , HE'S NOT SUPPOSE TO BE THERE ,SHE WAS RIGHT . THAT COULD GET HER OLDER PERSON KICKED OUT ( THEY HAVE RULES ) THEY EXPLAINED IT TO HIS MOTHER WHEN SHE MOVED IN AND HE DOESN'T CARE .
For those who seem to not understand how a 55+ community works, they have very stringent rules to protect those 55+ residents. We almost bought into one of those, but the rules were hard to accept. One rule is that those under 55 could only visit, and NOT STAY overnight more than a limited number of days per year. Our grandkids could not come and stay a few days with us for long visits. Nor could our kids move in with us if they had to in dire situations. To sell our house would require a realtor and they could not put a sign in the yard. They have many more rules too and the one we looked at was gated so you had to have the pass code to enter. You had to meet visitors at the gate. We did not like their rules, so we chose to not buy there. This crazy lady is just trying to protect her neighbors and require everyone to follow their strict rules. She's not crazy as implied here, but just trying to help this young man to understand the rules of the community. He might never understand - until he gets 55+ years old.

@Carol S Motorcycle drivers wear go-pros a lot. And while It's rare in America, in most other countries drivers usually have dash cams. In some countries, your insurance even requires it.
