Btw, the dinosaur shot while gaming the insulation was great!
I foresee the adoption of a new expression .... "half a handle short of a door"!
Hey Simon just FYI I would have definitely dropped an F bomb too when the light broke. lol
Man ecoflow is the best sponsor for this channel. Glad yall will be warmer this year!
“Why’s me wood so big” … said no man ever …. UNTIL NOW!!!! MEEEE!!! Hahahah 😂😂😂😂
Jemma fills her crack's and Robbo has the runs. Great advert for the channel. ❤❤
Great update 2x👍
Nice goin m8s, good to see Robbo volunteering to help too. Thanks m8 and Robbo too.
Great episode remember 'There's no place like Foam'.....:o)
Great to see Robbo again too, top bloke Robbo!
Loved seeing the dinosaur 🦕😂
Like your music! Raise the roof!
12:30 - That blue dino, haha
lol yup so random and unexpected. Do youtube analytics let you know where there was a massive spike of people hitting the back button hehe, cos I did. And went back to it again at the end.
ecoflo system is great using in my bus home when free camping love your video's keep them coming
“Floppy wood”….. Haha, cute! Cheers from across the pond in Oregon!
It happens brother let the busted tube go...haha,l love your blog and what you guys are doing outstanding.!!👍😁👀
Better and better all the time !
I love you guys! I'm getting used to your accents so now I can understand most of what you are saying. Good luck and continued success!
The Dingy you have stashed in the van looks like a Beauty!! Mmmmmmm
Ohhhh. Naughty. You broke a fluorescent tube. Don't you just hate that? Especially as it still worked. Still you got to enjoy the mercury contained within.🤣
As always full of entertainment, which is what has me hooked into the series.
Honestly, it's amazing what you have achieved in the last 12 months. The day will finally come when you can sail out of there to do the final dry dock stuff on the hull, pat yourselves on the back drink a cold adult beverage and say "Well it's done.... what the bloody 'ell were we thinkin? We musta been stark ravin' looney..... OK where to on our maiden voyage?"
Great job love your videos
A joy to be vicariously along for the ride!
Good to see Robert, what an awesome friend.
"You've got floppy wood" - classic!
Looking forward to the next episode. Regards from Lancaster
The improvement in the way your boat looks on the outside now is truly amazing. Great work by you and all of your friends.
This amazing couple are unwittingly demonstrating the folly of government`s renewable policies for the provision of reliable 24/7 power!
I love it when Simon and Gemma go McGyver
I know too well the sound and feeling of Knocking into a florescent light fixture. I was so happy when I was able to replace mine with LEDs in my shop. (Didn't have a choice, couldn't buy that size tubes any more.)
The sections of your ship that are restored look incredible! Your attention to every detail shows in your workmanship. The ceiling insulation really gave that room a more "cozy" look. Can't wait to see the finished ceiling.
I am always fascinated by the tide coming and going. I live in Michigan, USA, which is surrounded on three sides by five large, fresh water "great lakes", so I am used to a lot of water, but it doesn't come and go😊
Keep up the good work!!
As I am 75, I am just hoping to live long enough to see this ship restored and put to good use!😉
Loved the blue dinosaur!
Excellent work on the insulation! Much warmer this winter!
What a great piece o kit that smart electric start genny is. I cant wait for the day when you pull in those anchors & give her the full beans out of that estuary. I hope the show continues after the restoration as you've become a big part of all the subscribers lives, Top work by all you guys involved with the restoration, it's a joy to watch.
I'm holding out for the around the UK tour. Reckon about 10 years time give or take.
My Father was a small Fibreglass boat builder back in the 70’s. He used to steam wood used for hull strengthening ribs in exactly the same fashion. Interesting to see that again after 50 odd years ha ha.
Nice snug fit you guys make me home sick I've been in California almost 50 years love watching your progress old Eastbourne lad
An other amazing video coming on great! Also love little Timelapse of tide coming was nice carming keep lovely work and f the hate ❤❤❤❤❤❤ love Qween of Liverpool xx
X
Ihr seid echt die Größten....weiter so !!!!!!!!!!!
Simon, your wood steamer is absolutely brill.Mega floppy wood!
International. Mick Australia. Love ya. My nana from London. God bless your family. Allways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. )
My Friday is complete, sit down and watch you two, fantastic
Hope you have a great weekend Richard x
Yes, yes, yes, more bloopers and outtakes please. Don't worry Simon just pretend you didn't see that broken bulb. Seems like there was an audio malfunction immediately following the crash of that bulb like "fooey" or "fudge" or something.
Looking good.
Those who never make a mistake, are those that do nothing. Boy, have I made a load of mistakes and still are.
I liked the blue T-Rex in the time lapse!
Ahh, it's great to see all your 'Caravan' skills have proved so easily transferred to ship 'Happening'. Doesn't hurt to have most of the tools needed for resurrecting a WWll ship and bring her back to life. Now she can happily 'sail' once again with a happy family aboard. Can't wait for Robbo, I mean, you guys, to finish all the hard stuff. But a boat is never 'Finish built', she's only transferred to the new repair crew... 🤣👍🎉
You might consider getting an applicator gun for the squirty foam, they are easier to use, cannisters are cheaper and you don't waste much as the part-used cannisters last ages if left on the gun.
Even a cheap one will do. I've just gone back to a part used can, after 6 month and it worked, no problem. You can also control the flow rate.
You are 100% right! I'm using it also. Can't do without....
Great combination of time lapse video, work video and audio. I really appreciate monologue/dialog on goals of project and explanation of progress. I assume you got the ladder after tide receded! Thx for bringing us along! Ken
PS. After 48 yrs, my wife doesn’t complain about my wood.
You could use some of the melted copper nails to mold a door handle. Just because you could.
If you do any more expanding foaming buy a reusable gun , it's much more controllable and you can turn it off and reuse half a can another day or week
You two are awesome! Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see ya'lls dream boat in its finished state.
Loved Gemma’s “Momma Smurf” Cameo when doing the spray foam. 😂
Best video ever! some ship goes good and some ship goes bad - show it all off and remain proud. ship does indeed happen.
When the sun is out the mudflats are really scenic!
It is a beautiful place at times!
Great use of technology. Very smart…
Well done with the set up to steam bend that oak!
I switched all my shop lights over to 8' led. Much brighter and I don't have to worry about bulbs.
That bronco is fab love it
Another STEAMY video ❤ . The roof looks so good on the outside where y’all rebuilt it. Glad you will be warm this winter 🇺🇸🌹🙏
Your comments always warm me up!! X
Very colorful lol 😂
It's so good to see progress other than the bilge.the boat will be so much cooler with all the insulation.. And warmer.. Great video guys and I'm so happy for all the progress..
You all are doing a amazing job on the boate. 😊🙂😁
I wish I could afford one of those EcoFlo things - what an amazing bit of kit! I would buy one based on your genuine review.
The boat is looking boss, keep going, I'm loving every episode. 👏
Use your multi tool with a smooth blade and let your foam fully cure and you will be able to easy to trim flush.
That tide certainly comes in fast in the Dee estuary! 🙂 I hope that blue dinosaur was a friendly one!
Well done team... x
The time lapse was sublime! Perfect music, and a treat for those of us that live at least 1000 miles from any ocean.
Fan Dabby Dozy...effing excellent 👏
Great job, you two! I so look forward to your videos.
Thanks Lisa!
you guys are genuinly good people.loved the dinosaur snibit that poped up!!!!funny stuff.
She’s coming together nicely, your dream is coming true and creating dreams for all of us 🍻🍻🍻🍻😎🤘❤️
Funny as! The light tube, the ladder! Love you guys! Thankyou.
The correct nautical terminology is deckhead. (be careful of the company you use this term).. Also the correct terms for bow and stern are sharp end and arse end. Take it from an ex merchant mariner. Love the show and good luck with all your endeavours.😁
First episode this morning.. Got hot tea PG tips an my favorite family an friends doing great things. Like putting a ceiling in to this beautiful vessel.. Love the solar generators they're amazing.... ✌🏼💗😊❣️
I had a video up this morning too, was on the friends watch list lol?
Loved it I cant wait for the first voyage.
I'd love a Deltamax, but I can't afford the $3,000AU and then $2,500 for the genny price tag. Might have to start saving up lol.
I know you guys putin a LOT of time working on Sarinda, but seeing Robbo so much impresses me that he helps out a great deal and it's not even his boat. A great friend indeed!
Some of the old copper nails might be melted down to make a new door knob for the cabin door.
> So good of you to use a high performing insulation board and have it gapped so the reflective barrier will actually work. Thanks for the generator demo also, would work good as emergency power for home and shop. Take care Captains.
Great episode again :-)
I really like your song - makes me happy when ya'll put it in an episode
Made a canoe with bent white oak frames and pine stringers, and as you know, you can never have enough clamps!
More progress Gem & Simon, You are so lucky to have Robbo to help. Keith
l do like that tital .you were never on the grid .. ha ha love it
Get it going guys great job guys
The roof insulation should be fully sealed with aluminium tape to all the joints and under the joists to prevent vapour transferring to the underside of the roof, where it will condensate. The alternative is to use a minimum of 500g polythene with taped joints to the whole underside of the roof. A marine environment is by its nature a high humidity one so that condensation is a real risk especially with good insulation.
The air space above the insulation board adds to the total insulation value if it is not ventilated but to say that it will help with condensation is untrue and naive.
Agreed. Trapped moisture will condense and eventually breakdown the paint layer on the wood, leading to eventual rot.
Yes aluminium tape is also a lot less messy
@@jackdbur The aluminium tape should be used in addition to the spray foam sealing, not as a substitute. The spray foam fills the gaps left by the board installation that gives a path for heat dissipation it is not a vapour barrier.
That’ll sure make it more comfy this winter.
Use plastic pipe (from builders merchants) instead of steel. The steel will such a lot of energy from the steam. Actually just a long plastic bag would work.
Very interesting. Thank You
Hope you guys are doing great guns as always 🤜🤛💯💯😎😎😀enjoy watching the videos can't wait for the champagne ceremony much afterwards!!
brilliant work👍 even the steam tube is simple but so clever. All the best for the next episodes from Germany
You made light work of cutting the insulation 😅
I love all the bespoke things you make like the clever wood steaming set up. Brilliant!😍Couldn't help noticing the sudden appearance of the blue dinosaur! A leftover Halloween costume? A new boat restoration helper? Keep up the good work! I'm glad you will be warmer and drier this winter.❤
great work guys
I really enjoy watching you two just get stuff done.
Well done grand job
Re that door knob? How about a lever-shaped one instead that is installed in the direction away from the jam? ALSO, re. insulation, even if only temporary for the winter, a bit of thin rubber gastketing would seal that door crack well. Loved it all! thanks again!
At the Start of today's Video I Take it Simon said Foot....When the Tube Bulb fell.😉
When I use spray foam I wait until it forms a slight skin, enough so you can touch it without it sticking to your skin, then I gently push it into the crevice with my fingers. Saves all that cutting and it looks really neat and compact.
Lucky it didn't land on the bench saw! whew.
And that drone shot of the roof is gorgeous. I can't wait until the rest of the ship is so new looking!
Will be so warm in there this winter you can work in shorts...lol.
Bikini clickbait thumbnails may be possible 🤣🤣
Great Effort!
Instead of a plastic cup would a CV boot work better? Maybe pair of jubilee clips to make a decent seal to get the pressure up?
Loved this episode... 😊 amazing to think how much you've achieved.
Things are coming along very nicely ☺️👍
Love you guys
