National League Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant went back to college ball - for a day. Conspiring with the coach at Mesa Community College in Arizona, the two tricked the Thunderbirds baseball team into believing he was the new hot shot transfer. Using the alias of Roy Nabryt (‘Roy’ is short for Rookie of the Year and ‘Nabryt’ is Bryant with letters twisted), here’s what happened when Bryant - aka Roy - proceeded to launch balls out of the ballpark as stunned players looked on.

Especially given the way professional baseball is shown on TV. Anyone who watches regularly is probably going to have a good shot at recognizing a big player once you have his attention. Indeed, the close-up coverage of faces is one of the things that bugs me about TV coverage. You can count the pitcher's beard hairs, but you can't see if the runner on first is looking to steal.

He 2 was 24 at the time of the prank. So he was literally a couple years older than some of these guys but looks about 7+ years older and about a foot taller. I'd call em kids too

It’s a Juco, 2 year program. Those kids are all 19-20. My son went there from 2005-2007.

There are a number of solid players from Europe. NC State who is currently no. 8 in the nation 2 guys from the Czech Republic. Texas' Ace pitcher a couple of years ago was from Italy. Italy, The Netherlands, and the Czech Republic have produced some solid players.

As someone who lives in the San Diego area, I definitely liked this one. Kris played for the University of San Diego and, as a junior, was the college home run leader. I see off to the side a You Tube of Kris being pranked by Greg Maddux. I will have to watch that one.
