Funny thing is I was wanting to do this build with a mod to add in the Almost Perfect mod. Because that mod, at lvl 3, instantly raises all non-9 SPECIAL points to a 9. Not simply for the bonuses, but imagine what that would mean. That, through some greater mechanism of life, this bumbling death machine suddenly becomes the most intelligent, eloquent, fly-eyed death machine in the World. Be it God or some latent mutation, you are now the Enlightened Messiah of the Wastes
Made even more glorious by the fact that, as Obsidian was made up of Interplay veterans (the people who made the first two installments in the Fallout series), it returned a feature that was absent in Fallout 3: the dialogue differences brought about by having a horrendously low Intelligence. In old games, if you were of average or more Intelligence, you would talk normally; if you were 3 or _lower_ , however, then you would have a hard time talking, forming coherent sentences, most people would respond with rage or annoyance because they assumed you were making fun of them (one female NPC goes into a berserk fury because you call her "Mommy," to which she insists she's in her 20's and attacks you). An especially humorous exchange occurs in Fallout 2 where, playing a dumb Chosen One, you can actually hold a conversation with Tor (the village idiot in charge of looking after the Brahmin) and have their speech finally become understandable, the upshot of this being that "Stupidity is its Own Language!" Another gem is in New Vegas where, when exploring the top-floor of REPCONN Headquarters, a Mister Gutsy asks for a clearance password, a dumb character can loudly and repeatedly shriek "ICE CREAM!"... and _THE MISTER GUTSY LETS THEM PASS BECAUSE THAT WAS THE CORRECT PASSWORD_ ! Made especially humorous if in a later run, you have an Intelligent or Lucky Character, who will guess "Ice Cream (I don't know the exact mix of numbers and letters, the Leet Speak it uses, but it's one hell of a coincidence that the secret password thought up by high-ranking government scientists and military heads... is 'Ice Cream' of all things)."

Fun fact about the power armor. The T-45 seen in Fallout 3 and New Vegas was original to those games. And Black Isles Fallout 1 brotherhood of steel actually used the T-51 power armor and was the face of Fallout 1 before Fallout 3 used T-45 for it's cover art.
If you do help out The Enclave in this game you can get the remnants power armor which is really good there's a guaranteed spawn on the very other side of the map surrounded by 20 deathclaws and it's ridiculously hard to get to

29:55 Agreed on that. I love the hell out of New Vegas, but one of the few things that I found genuinely disappointing was that you couldn't take the DLC companions back into the main regions of the game to get their opinions on the world outside of their regions. What would Joshua Graham and Ulysses think of the factions you side with in the Mojave? What would Follows-Chalk think of life in the big city compared to life in his tribe? How would the Brotherhood (and Veronica in particular) react to Christine and the knowledge of what happened in Sierra Madre (granted, you can see at least a little of this by giving Veronica Elijah's final message, but it's not much)? For the most part I think the DLC were fantastic, but I would've loved to have seen the results of those stories being integrated with the main game after completing them.

I usually run Charisma higher than most people would on my Fallout Playthroughs but in FNV it is The most useless Special Stat in the entire series, no must have perks and because FNV went into overdrive with the available Skill Points as well an enormous variety of Skill Checks you can still get 100 Speech/Barter Skills relatively easily. There's like maybe 3 actual Charisma Checks in the whole game and even those have 2-4 alternative Skill/Stat Checks that reach the same conclusion, even Perception which in this game is considerably less valued than in other games still has the "Better Criticals" and "Sniper" Perks which requires 6 Perception (as well 6 Luck and Agility respectively but those are great Stats and not unrealistic to have at that level). Bonus Tip for anyone starting a playthrough for the first time, Never Never Never put a Special Stat at 10 (unless you are doing short playthroughs) if you want to have a maxed stat only go up to 9. There is an Implant for each Special Stat you can buy that will increase each by +1 (this counts towards Perk Requirements too unlike clothing/food boosts), all you need is the Caps (which are absurdly abundant in this game) and an Endurance Point for each Implant (there's 9 Total but again Charisma isn't necessary) so you just need an Endurance of 6-8 to get them all which isn't some sort of compromise because Endurance is also a great Special Stat.
I just though of a funny scenario for the Battle of Hoover Dam. The NCR are on the back foot, they've lost a lot of triops leading up to the battle and morale is low. Just as the Legion preps for an attack, up comes Courier Six with a battalion of Mk. II Securitrons, the Bortherhood of Steel with paladins and dirigibles, the steampunk crusaders of New Canaan, and the Boomers with their B-52 bomber, as well as Joshua Graham. Not only do the NCR get reinforcements and new allies, Courier Six has just brought together the entirety of the civilized wasteland under his banner.

I personally like T-51b more, but will admit that the Fallout 3/New Vegas verion of it is not super-great. From what I understand, the problem was that trying to translate the isometric artwork from the original Fallouts into full 3D ran into several hitches. The big ones were that since the power armor is "clothing" on the character model there's a limit to its size, where the joints can be, and how it can move; and this didn't mesh with how the armor looked in the original Fallouts. The result was they had to make something much more slimmed down, and while trying to keep the same look for the T-51b wound up making it a bit bland compared to the lower-tech, more greebly T-45d suits or more advanced Enclave suits. Fallout 4's way of doing it actually wound up working better because the armor is a big object unto itself, not something that has to be constrained by the way clothing overlay works. This is oddly just like how Fallout 1 and 2 did it: when you put on power armor (or any armor), your character sprite just gets replaced by the armor model sprite, so there's no worry about making a 3D model fit into a specific set of clothes.

Stat wise the legion dominates.....nothing. At least nothing in it's level of power/influence. They constantly lose to the NCR, the hit squads are far more dangerous than the legion assassin's and overall they have some of the worse gear of any group in Fallout history(I think Minutemen or Railroad could be the worst). At least of the major factions. Granted nothing is really hard if you carry around enough explosives to level a mountain but the NCR Hit Squads are overall harder to fight as they have better longer range options, better armor, better medium range options and honestly only lose in melee weaponry. Whoo hoo melee. So just don't be a melee/unarmed class and you'll be fine against the legion. Oh and the NCR has ammo that ignores armor like 5mm, the AMR that has the highest ballistic non explosive damage in the game before stat buffs and has better healing in stimpaks instead of healing powder.
I played and finished the game and managed to get with I think every group fighting the legion with my anti-material rifle one of my favourite guns in the game.
Funny thing, even with 100 speech you can fail persuading Lanius to pull back. If you mention retreat in any form, he will kill your ass.( well, attempt, cuze noone can kill the player)
I like how his Endurance skill was 7, if you weren't required to have at least 1 point in each one you know those Perception, Charisma and Intelligence points would have been spent on Endurance instead. Dude's as dumb and as spacially aware as a sack of bricks, but hits like one too.
I always have high charisma because I want a high barter that way I don’t need to constantly look for scrap to make weapon repair kits I could just get it repaired at the Mojave outpost or just buy a brand new one also playing the game without a companion is just wrong

Its honestly a shame that Joshua is confined to Zion, I'd love to keep him around as a companion.
I live in Cali and I feel like we have been "nuked"
31:44 You say B-52 but in the game the design is a B-29 Super Fortress.
T-45 is great, but in all honesty I like the T-51 because there are no de-buffs for wearing it, plus it's just a tad bit tougher
Regarding benny i murdered every..single..member of ceasers legion and then i set him free.
I played and finished the game and managed to get with I think every group fighting the legion with my anti-material rifle one of my favourite guns in the game.
Funny thing, even with 100 speech you can fail persuading Lanius to pull back. If you mention retreat in any form, he will kill your ass.( well, attempt, cuze noone can kill the player)
funny I've been able to talk down Lanius before and be praised by Oliver for doing so
@@brothersgt.grauwolff6716 You can talk him down, but there is a trick 100 speech answer where you can fail.
Has anyone heard of Fallout: Unsheltered by TheKite?
that boomer kid says "savages" with a hard R
Listen...the first time I played NV, I played it for maybe 30~ minutes at a friend's house, and i made strength 10 XD
Should there be a Pokémon crystal remake on the switch?. The game came around when gold and silver were still brand new, what do you guy’s think?
Ave true to Caesar
I hate to be that guy but the Boomer’s bomber is a B29, not B52.
I like how his Endurance skill was 7, if you weren't required to have at least 1 point in each one you know those Perception, Charisma and Intelligence points would have been spent on Endurance instead. Dude's as dumb and as spacially aware as a sack of bricks, but hits like one too.
I like t51 in fallout for t45 is whack in terms of health t51 all the to xo1 is tight as fuck
I always post this in every New Vegas video. Joshua Graham and Honest Hearts are thematically at odds with the rest of the game’s story.
41:02 call end
Watching yall hammered is fantastic. Shout out to moonshiners
If you want a deeper dive into the history and mechanics of New Vegas, I recommend watching Hbomberguy's video about the game.
The House Always Wins.
Quick question:
If I have a request for a reaction, what is the preferred method for making said request?
oh im shaking in my power armor
I always have high charisma because I want a high barter that way I don’t need to constantly look for scrap to make weapon repair kits I could just get it repaired at the Mojave outpost or just buy a brand new one also playing the game without a companion is just wrong
Sweet it's been a while since we seen this
Yes man, AKA A F G H A N I S T A N
T-51 gang
Scabada bi bop da bad da bope ba da bada bope
YES man ending for the win.
10:48 Just FYI, Bethesda actually offered to give Obsidian more time to work on the game but they said no
not to be a nerd, but that's a quad radial B-29 superfortress. not a octuple turbojet B-52 Stratofortress
Ik the Uber Danger Fallout New Vegas series is a bit long but you guys should react to its the best
43:10 You mean BEN. tried to enter. Neither of you two were involved there. WHO IS 'WE'?
Check again Kirby Chu. I was the one who pulled the chair aside. I may have been bald, but that was me.
