I've had short pixie cut since 1980.i blow dey my hair first, then roll my hair with same rollers. Then I put my make-up on takes around 10 too 15 minutes. Then remove rollers and style my hair. This has been my routine since 1981. Works great and looks great.
I love your beautiful complexion, your eyebrows are just right and your video was very perfect for me. I’m 81years old but still love makeup and my pixie cut and will definitely try these products. Thank you for sharing I’m so glad I found you .
Awww how sweet Lois! Nobody has ever complemented my eyebrows. :) I love that you are still loving makeup and hair. Doesn't it feel wonderful at the beginning of the day having a fresh face of makeup on and your hair done, with a hot cup of coffee? Have a great day!
After blow drying with the self-grip rollers still in, I was advised years ago by a great stylist to end the blow dry with a shot of cool air on each roller. This worked very well for me! Loved your video and love your pixie!
Turned out gorgeous! First i cant believe how you were able to get rollers into your super short hair & second i cant believe how easy they came out!! They always ripped my hair trying to remove them. Think i might give them a try again. Thank you for the inspiration.
Hi Victoria! Loving the Velcro rollers, just got my hair cut so I have to wait a few weeks to use them again. Yes - I also have that paste - it’s awesome 👱🏻🌻
You look adorable no matter what style! My hair is super short & silver. It takes 3-5 min. to dry with blow drier & the curl with hot brush. Thx for having this site!
Beautiful; thanks for the superb tutorial. I, too, have a pixie cut and roll the top in different directions, giving my hair lots of volume.🙏 Oh, and after removing the curlers, I use a product, and the curls do flatten.
What a cute look on you! I've thought about trying those rollers. I'm a product of the '60's-70's so curlers won't be too hard. Are those rollers available at common stores like Target, etc? Karen S

Your hair looks great! I use those rollers too. I roll the top of my hair back and the sides and back I roll down. The volume lasts for days & I have fine hair with lots of colics.
I love using these rollers. I think they’re better than using all that heat from a flat iron on my hair. I roll, heat them up a little with the hair dryer, and leave them in until I finish my makeup.
Your hair looks very cute! Velcro rollers have been around for a while. I'm 67 yrs old so I have seen many style of rollers in my life! lol. Used to sleep with the really hard rollers in my hair, not sure how I did it that! I have fine hair so that Fuddy product might work well for me.
Hi Dianne, I used to sleep in those sponge rollers when I was a kid and had long hair. But i loved having curly hair the next day - it always seemed worth it. Try that Fuddy - it might work really good.
How about orange juice cans? We used to use them as large rollers to give body to straight hair. Had to sleep on them though... no blow dryers in those days :)
Love the look thank you for the detailed explanation of everything. I have baby fine hair so I can't do most products they make it flat no matter what they are supposed to do that fuddy looks like it might be worth trying
Hey Gail! Welcome to my channel! And congrats on getting a new pixie - they are so fun and there are so many different hair dos you can do with short hair. Enjoy watching! 👱🏻🌻
I'm a hair freak, lol. Love watching hair videos!!! I WAS growing my hair out and got it to my shoulders. Ugh...now it's below my chin, BUT I've been thinking to get a pixie & let my natural 'white' grow!!! I'm going to check out all your videos, I just might try something new!
I’ve had pixie short hair for years. I think the key is finding someone who also has short hair! They aren’t afraid to cut hair short...as in , as short as you’re telling them you want it. My experience has been if they have lovely long hair they can’t do it! They’re holding the scissors so carefully and doing little snips like...you can’t possibly mean you want it shorter than that. 😂 When I found an awesome stylist it was so expensive that I started clipping my own hair. I loved her but the cost plus tip and with pixie cuts it needs trimmed every 6 weeks minimum. I don’t understand why a woman’s pixie cut cost double or more than a men’s cut. I’ve been clipping my own hair for over a year and have had strangers come up and complement my hair and ask where I got it done. You just have to build up your confidence, get in there and do it, and remember it’s just hair if you mess up a bit (which you won’t! And thinning shears will cover a multitude of mistakes)it will grow back.
Again, very well done! So cute! Think I’m going to have to try that Kenra product for styling! Loving the new volume! Too cute! Thanks for sharing and be blessed!
First time viewing your video. Love the rollers, hair color and cut. I like the rät tailed comb and the hair product. Your style is gorgeous like you. Great video. Thank you.
After seeing several pixie videos, this was the first one I’ve seen using these rollers (which I already have but used for my hair when it was longer). I love your idea because it looks easier than the other ways plus easier on my hair without using a curling iron and teasing. And by the way, you are so cute and I like the way you do your eye makeup with color. Very professional looking. Thanks for sharing. 👏👏👏
Your hair looks beautiful! I have these rollers for twenty years but I have them in the back of my closet. Time to pull them out. Thanks for reminding me to play with my hair and have some fun! See you next time!
It is cute, a little piecey. And fun. I don’t like to have a straight part. I have used these kind of rollers, I have had them for nearly 20 years they work wonderfully.
This is the first time watching you.I love your hair and the way you styled it. I am going tomorrow to get the rollers, I have short hair also. I will be looking for you again. Great video. From Wilm. N.C.

Hey Katherine, thanks so much for your sweet comments! Spring is almost here - you are right though - it has been so gray outside this winter. Happy Mardi to you as well and I’m so glad you are enjoying the vlogs 👱🏻🌻
I know this is a older video, but I still want to thank you for it I think your hair looks lovely. I"ve put in my first set of (small) curlers..it wasa bit tricky. I bought myself some plastic ones (Daiou) ones, off Amazon. Seeing your video makes me think I should have got ones like yours...I certainly be checking out those links 😃. I'm going to leave mine in overnight, & see what happens...I was thinking about adding some hairspray with the rollers? Thanks again for the great video.
Also called velcro rollers. I used these when my hair was short, but now that it is longer..hard to get out and they pull on the hair...cant afford to lose hair...hair is fine. Works good for short hair.
Love your make-up and your hair, very cute; and your sweet disposition. I am 66 years old and have had many hairstyles, but have never rolled my hair in my life. You have inspired me. However, my arms get tired just thinking about it!
Omg! I have a pixie (have for years) and I just started last week using Velcro rollers and love the look and time save! I was going to suggest this to you and this popped up. I even just ordered the Calista hot self grip set, I like those, too. But really just using the rollers like yours after I blowdry (then apply makeup) then blast with a dryer for 12 second just to reheat them quickly, before taking down they work great! Also, my hair is much shorter than yours on top. Very thick and course. I throw them in on dry hair. Some going back, some down-however they fit. Some of the hair doesn’t even totally go around the roller and it still works great
What crazy timing! I will have to order that set too - i didn't even know that they had a set like that. I'm going to do another video with your trick. Thanks for the tip!
If I may give you some pointers to using velcro rollers. I'm a hairstylist and makeup artist. First thing to understand is it's the cold that sets the hair. Second thing to know is that velcro rollers should not be used on wet hair. They are known to break the hair and cause frizz. You should be using bigger rollers on the top layers and go smaller as you go down the scalp. Velcro is for volume, more than curls. Blow dry your hair completely, in the style that you want the hair to be directed. You use velcro rollers on dry hair. Spritz with spray at this point. With the rollers in your hair, heat up all of your hair with your blow dryer on hottest setting, lower fan. Now, leave your hair and scalp to cool down completely. It's at this point I apply makeup on clients or keep yourself busy but not working up a sweat. Once your hair has cooled, remove the rollers, you should have curls that will last until you wash it. I can answer any questions you may have. ☺️
SassyStacy Holmes - I have short, coarse, very straight and thick hair. When you said to spritz the hair after you put the rollers in, do you use water or some type of product. If you use a product, what type should I use based on my hair type? Thanks for your and Sage’s help!
WOW! That looks fab. I found you recently and today I was thinking of using Velcro rollers. Watched this and definitely going to. Really looks so stylish and I don’t like my hair flat I love volume. Thank you 🙏🏻 X
I’ve been using these Velcro rollers since the 90s. Back then, you could only find them at beauty supply stores. They really do work to give you some lift.
Haha! I remember this video from March or April 2020 when all the shops and salons were closed and my short cut was SO grown out and I actually did buy and use these rollers. What fun! Sometimes my hair is just too easy and I need a nudge and a reason to try something different, so thanks for the inspiration.
Oh I’m so glad this provided inspiration! It’s crazy that this video seems like a decade ago! We’ve been through so much 🌻 I’ll have to pull these out and do another video on these once my haircut grows out. Have a wonderful day
I loved the Fuddy. I cant get my stylist to suggest anything. I have rollers they do great. Love the hotair/brushand I need a new blower I am over 70 just want a fun way for summer. I loved your happy attitude
I have these same rollers. My hair used to be longer and I would roll them back on top and down the sides. I just got a pixie but it is so short! So I think I may try the way you rolled it! Thanks for sharing. Oh, and I just put a gel on my hair before using rollers. I think yours looks pretty!
@@sagedawn It turned out looking much better. I hadn't been able to get in to see my regular hairdresser and went to one I didn't know. Got a too short bad cut so this will help me to stand it until it grows enough to get the shape repaired by my regular girl. Thanks again for sharing.
Love the volume & height ! Your pixie is adorable & amazingly versatile. I have been using velcro rollers since the early 90's. I currently have my baby fine hair cut in an asymmetrical stacked bob. To style, I blowdry completely dry then pop in velcro rollers, hit w/another 30 seconds of heat, then do my makeup. I remove rollers and BOOM! some hairspray & the hair is done. So much healthier for hair than flat irons & curling wands. You look beautiful🌺
Thank you Trish! I bet your asymmetrical stacked bob is adorable! I will definitely try putting the rollers in after my hair is dry - thanks so much for the tip and have a great week!!!
Love your hair..I have the same rollers and going to get the fuddy. I have thin hair and would love the volume you have..I also have a pixie cut and love it. Love your videos!
My hair is so thick it will never air dry. Back in the day it would take 30 plus minutes under the dryer to dry my hair using rollers. Your hair and makeup are gorgeous. Thanks
I used that rollers before but stopped using it, because I saw most of my hair were entangled by the rollers. I don’t want to lose my hair if I continue using it.
You have to really be careful with these self grip rollers. Especially be careful taking them out of your hair or they will break and tangle your hair. You can use brush rollers with picks which are much easier on your hair.
How long did your hair take to dry this way mine is about as short as yours and i use dry hair when rolling my hair up ,i quit using hot curling iron and no more split ends.
I was a teen in the 60's with curly hair and the style was straight so I used Dippity Do and juice can size rollers and sat under an old fashioned salon chair my dad bought us girls that we had in the basement. As I grew and styles changed, I loved shorter hair and got a hair dryer with a brush attachment. So... product and dry and then when dry, use those self grip rollers while I put on my make up. Take them out and style easily. It all depends of the type of hair you hair, but anyone can use these rollers and product does make all of the difference. A little soft hair spray and you are good to go. I love Sally's Salon, but you can get them at Walmart or any drug store.
Hi Jacqueline - thanks for sharing your hair story! I’ve heard many women say they put them in after their hair dries and leave them in a bit. Have a wonderful day! 👱🏻🌻
I ordered the products you used on your hair . you said your mom has fine hair. My hair is fine and I have to take a lot of medicine and have lost a lot of hair my right shoulder is bad but I think I can use those rollers. Before all I had to do is blow dry it. I am going to try these things. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.......
Hi Lorene, I’m sorry i you have struggled with health stuff. I also have to take a lot of medicine. My mom does have really fine hair and that fuddy really helps her. Let me know how it goes! 👱🏻🌻
I have used them for years. A little longer hair. Info the top to the side and the sides forward. They are great for the crown and bangs. Drys fast. Also work for a pick up without between washings. Just spray lightly with water, blast with dryer for a minute.
When my hair is longer i need to use clips to secure the roller. Will definitely try your method as blow drying time will be quick. Have you tried pin curling the shorter side hair? Hope mine looks as nice as yours. Pretty!
Your hair looks great..couldn't believe you got so much volume. I also use these rollers..my hair is neck length and my hair is curly so I blow dry it straight and then put in rollers dry and keep them in while I get ready. Gives a soft curl. Love the addition of hair gel for you..great looking hair!
You should get 1 to 1&1/2 turns of your hair on your roller. Also, for a natural look, don't section off your hair perfectly. You can grab small sections of hair & roll as usual. I love your cut by the way. ♥️🤍💙 Janet
I love how you did your hair and how you explained everything so clearly. Thank you.

Oh I’m so glad this provided inspiration! It’s crazy that this video seems like a decade ago! We’ve been through so much 🌻 I’ll have to pull these out and do another video on these once my haircut grows out. Have a wonderful day
You did a good job! Good tutorial on rollers..on a pixie..great!
I loved the Fuddy. I cant get my stylist to suggest anything. I have rollers they do great. Love the hotair/brushand I need a new blower I am over 70 just want a fun way for summer. I loved your happy attitude
I've got the pixie cut, and have a perm. I use just on little size all over except with the too short hair.
I have these same rollers. My hair used to be longer and I would roll them back on top and down the sides. I just got a pixie but it is so short! So I think I may try the way you rolled it! Thanks for sharing. Oh, and I just put a gel on my hair before using rollers. I think yours looks pretty!
Thank you! Let me know how it turned out! 🎀
@@sagedawn It turned out looking much better. I hadn't been able to get in to see my regular hairdresser and went to one I didn't know. Got a too short bad cut so this will help me to stand it until it grows enough to get the shape repaired by my regular girl. Thanks again for sharing.
Lovely really suits you.First time I’ve watched you excellent result x
Love volume! Great job and love the piece look after the Kenra product!
I use to take these curlers to Lake Powell and they are great! That hot weather would dry your hair so fast, no electricity needed!!!
Love the look! My pixie is staying and thanks for the pleasant tutorial ! I’ll be trying the self grips!
I really like the outcome. The curlers really worked good. Nice job!
You are beautiful to begin with and I needed to see your video so I can do my hair like yours. Mary
Love your hair..I have the same rollers and going to get the fuddy. I have thin hair and would love the volume you have..I also have a pixie cut and love it. Love your videos!
Love it!! Love the volume! Great vid.
Thanks so much Stacy!! I’m glad you enjoyed. 👱🏻🌻
Love the volume 💕.
Love your hair cut!
Thanks Irene! You are so sweet! :)
I have been using these rollers in my hair and blow drying for years - instant volume that stays!!
My hair is so thick it will never air dry. Back in the day it would take 30 plus minutes under the dryer to dry my hair using rollers. Your hair and makeup are gorgeous. Thanks
Very nice. Love it
It looks lovely.
Looks good with your vace
I used that rollers before but stopped using it, because I saw most of my hair were entangled by the rollers. I don’t want to lose my hair if I continue using it.
You have to really be careful with these self grip rollers. Especially be careful taking them out of your hair or they will break and tangle your hair.
You can use brush rollers with picks which are much easier on your hair.
I go under a hooded hair dryer. It does well.
How long did your hair take to dry this way
mine is about as short as yours and i use dry hair when rolling my hair up ,i quit using hot curling iron and no more split ends.
I just got a pixie cut so finding you was a joy! You are talented & helped me a lot on how to style my new cut🤗👍
Awww thanks Sharon. I hope you are having fun with your pixie! 👱🏻🌻
You always look amazing .🎉
LOVE IT. you have hair like mine. I am very encouraged
Pretty!
SO cute! Great job.
Thanks Stacy - a lot of people have said that as well, I’m going to give it a try! 👱🏻🌻
Your hair looks great! Use those curlers all the time!
Very cute.Looks nice on you
You should get 1 to 1&1/2 turns of your hair on your roller. Also, for a natural look, don't section off your hair perfectly. You can grab small sections of hair & roll as usual. I love your cut by the way.
♥️🤍💙
Janet
Really like it !!! supercute
Thanks Laurie!!!
