One of many things I love about Nightwish is you never know where they gonna take you, but they will take you if you listen. No matter rather it is hard, folky, or a ballad it is gonna be a great song. Most bands have pretty much one or two sounds, not Nightwish.
Nightwish "love letter " to the three organizied Religions. I love the Lyrics and the Music. Kiss the Ring, praise and Sing. Amazing work Tuomas.

This one is against organized religions based on tribal religious texts, especially The Bible, it's not against personal faith in some Deity. However, one should realize that all those religious texts are & have been interpreted and used to justify unimaginable cruelties, persecution, discrimination etc., the worst being the idea that man is separate from nature & by some divine right above all other lifeforms, which explains the current almost catastrophic state of our planet.
lyrics are spot on - so many fractures in our world have a root in the fantasy that each of the religions/sects/whatever are THE ONE way. This song speaks, with anger, against the fact that we humans are destroying ourselves and this world based on a power structure that needs to be made obsolete - we ALL deserve better.
Plus Floor's Freddie Mercury pose at the end 💥.

Much as I appreciate Dawkins' clever critiques, in 2015 shitting on religion was already a tired, old theme.
Especially for a rock band, that just wouldn't be cool anymore.
Tuomas doesn't fall into that trap, and goes further with these lyrics.
At least what I got from this song is the idea that no single religion or other meme is especially evil - the real tragedy is our human tendency to come up with bullshit and believe in bullshit - even when it's being used to oppress us.

Weak fantasy is one of my favorites and how they thumb their nose at religions and double standards!
Sir, I feel this is a dig on organized religion, but a soft and delicate one in the modern day. Ancient texts have their feel of subjugation of neighboring people and excessive violence. The lyrics speak of the inner feel of satisfying the lust for fantasy, in an age where the perceiving the magical or the real was separated by just thin veil.
But you are right to determine this is a banger, and I wonder how your earphones stayed on. With my comfort zone of earmuff pressure on my skull, mine would have flown to the corner long ago.

I think you need to branch out a little...but stay in Nightwish...there are a couple of songs from Tarja's era of Nightwish that are phenomenal.....try these on for size. Phantom of the Opera.....High Hope (PF Tribute)......The Siren......and last but not least....Planet Hell. These are all from the End of an Era concert (the one that was the last show for Tarja as Nightwish's Front Woman) in 2005. Enjoy hun and peace out......BTW subbed in.
