I was wearing Flag Brothers zipper ankle boots about a one and a half inch heal.he was in black ankle boots to. ( I purposely looked. ) from what I saw there was no lift and his boot heal seemed about the same. He didn't have a pompadour , his hair was swept to the side ..I can say that he was easily six foot. In his early days he looked taller because of his pomp. Which Added about two to three inches. Plus he was very lean , like a rail which made him Look even taller. .. BTW heck of a nice guy.

Check out the height of John, Paul and George in the Hello Goodbye sequence where they're in the white suits....the height difference between J, P, and G is very slight, if any....Ringo was clearly the shorter of the 4.
Chris Cornell was 6ft. Easily. Stood maybe two or three metres away from him, when Soundgarden toured Melbourne in 1994. I'm 6ft 2 and he was my size or thereabouts...
Very good video and great list. Thanks for taking the time to make it. However, it's still incomplete. I didn't see some of my all time favorites: Teddy Pendergrass, Ronald Isley, Billy Eckstein, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, R . Kelly, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, BB King and Willie Nelson.
Rick Astley walked right in front of me years ago on the Kings Road in London.I was shocked at how small he was, even with the teasted hair. I'm 5'7 and he was shorter than me.
It just goes to show you that a lot of these guys are short. But they have the biggest voices and are so talented. Steve Perry is small but his voice is King-size. He is the GOAT he so amazingly talented in everything. His voice is so powerful when he sings. It soars to the heavens above 🕊️🕊️✨✨✨🔥🔥🔥.
My dad was a stillman in Hollywood for 65 years and I've been over 45 years... And my dad worked on "G.I. Blues" and "Live a Little,Love a Little" and "Change of Habit" with Elvis Presley... My dad was just under 5'11"and I'm just under 6'... And my dad and including the wardrobe measurements for his clothes said that Elvis was just 5'11"... Which I could see from the photos I have of my dad and Elvis together... It was funny but Elvis kept wanting to know about photography and camera's and even on "Change of Habit" kept asking my dad questions about camera's since they did "Live a Little, Love a Little" where Elvis played a photographer...lol But you know what... It doesn't matter how tall he was... He was and always will be a giant in mine and the world's eyes and of course..."The King 👑 of Rock and Roll"... And of course also...he was the perfect gentleman to my dad and they kidded around with each other... Oh those were the days... By the way...you missed "Ringo Starr" in this... Great video, but I am disappointed you only did 3/4 of the Beatles. Also, it's hard to believe Roy Orbison was the tallest of the Traveling Wilburys listed.
I think Joey Ramone was quite tall too. About 6'5" I think. A lot taller than me and I'm a nice average 5'11" But he was so slender and well, just weird looking he looked taller. Nicest fellow I ever met. I think. Couldn't understand a word he said. But he was certainly friendly!
As a young man once told me, he wasn't quite 6 feet tall, only 5 feet 12 inches. Many are not all tall as they wish, but big voices come from small men (Bobby Hatfield, Neil Sedaka, Frankie Valle, just to name a few).
Larry, and women too! I'm 5'3" and I have a big voice. Lydia Pence from Cold Blood is really tiny and has a big voice. Brenda Lee is really tiny and she has a big voice too. People always get shocked by that. I quite love it!

@@DataWatch. This is a great idea as well as a great list, I was happy to see a lot of favorites from the 60s - 70s. The Guess Who and BTO had a pretty big presence in the US during that time so I was a little surprised to see them (Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman, Fred Turner) missing. I was even more surprised when I looked up their heights, always thought Cummings was near 6'. Always thought Steve Winwood was more like 6', but looked his height up and it appears you are correct. Not sure if I missed Joe Walsh? Tom Petty? Thanks for all your hard work!
Great compilation video. Like to know what gave you the idea for them. Missed a favorite, Jonathan Davis of Korn @ 6'2" and the band charting in the late 90s he'd of made this list. Great work!
Many heights are based on what the artists themselves claim. At the start of his career, McCartney was measured at 5-9. He claimed 5-11, but that was with the two inch Beatle boots. Today, with age, he is probably closer to 5-8.
I think he’s about 5’8 today. All of the Beatles except ringo claimed to be 5’11. I think my peak figures are fairly accurate. McCartney had the edge on the other two who I listed 5’10. You could maybe go down half an inch but I don’t think anymore. I’ve listed many of these guys less than they said they were or claimed to be
@@DataWatch. Eric Clapton, David Bowie, and John Lennon are all 5'8". Mick Jagger might be 8'1/4". Noel Gallagher is about 5'7", Liam about 5'9", Rod Stewart is 5'8.5" Paul McCartney 5'9", Sting is maybe 5'9.5", Boy George is about 5'6.5".

Good grief! It wasn't until you got to Luther that I no longer felt like a height freak. Good God, everyone is short! You did forget Davy Jones (5'3") and Peter Cetera (5'11).
Shocked to know that Bono and Phil Collins are both just around 5'6"! I thought they'd be a lot taller because they're from the UK like the guys from DD and SB who are generally tall.
@@ponypower8 No it isn't, the Republic of Ireland is an independent country and is not part of the UK. The United Kingdom includes England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Bono is an Irishman born in Dublin, the capital of Ireland. I'm not Irish or British but Spanish, so it doesn't really concern me, but I think the Irish don't like to be seen as British or English, especially since England invaded, subjugated and colonized Ireland for centuries.
It looks like this was a lot more work than usual !!! Great job, I really thought Snoop might have been the tallest !!! Maybe you should think about comparing male youtubers, might be interesting !!!! Again great job 👍🏼
He might have lost height when you saw him. Remember vid is based on peak height. He may not have been 5’10 max I dunno, can’t remember where I got his data from tbh
I’ve never met these guys. My mate has seen billy in the Uk and told me he was tiny. Regarding big Barry, I always thought he was a big guy if I’m honest
Actually, I thought Barry White was taller than what it says here. I'd have pegged him at 6'4-6'5. A couple sources do have him at 6'3, but close enough.
I go to Hard Rock in Atlantic City often and they have tons of musician apparel(suits, dresses, stage outfits etc) and one thing I always notice is how physically small the majority are and not just in height.
i work in roomservice. i was face to face with him. he was barefoot. im 6’ foot- he was shorter than me. if he had shoes on he might of been my height maybe
This is how we do it! Montell comes in as the tallest, huh? Actually, I don't care how tall a singer is. Prince has always been a giant talent. And Otis Redding could have been 5 feet instead of 6'1 and I still would have loved him!

@@ponypower8 You're telling me? I thought that he was wearing big clothes in the THIS IS IT movie, until, later, i've noticed that it was normal sized clothes.
Michael Jackson was actually 5 foot 10 inches tall. I have personally spoken with Jackson family members and a woman whom he was engaged too in the 80's after his death. They all put his height at 5'10"" tall. You were close.

On the subject of his height, I personally will believe what those who grew up with him and those who personally knew him say. Its ok to have a difference, as 5'9" inches isn't too far from 5'10" inches:) Its all good as far as I am concerned.
Thanks for sharing. Never knew LL Cool J was that tall. Prince and Montell Jordan are pretty obvious to guess. To be honest I don't even know half of these singers. 😊
I didn't expect Prince and Billy Ocean to be that short. I thought Prince would be about 5'7". I imagined most artists to be 6' or taller. I would be towerring over Prince at 5'11. But he'd still take my girl , smh
I am really surprised by Rod Stewart's height!! I still have doubts if is accurate or not... By the way he always had very very tall ladies as wives... Maybe he just looked short in comparison to them. 🤷♂️
Rod Stewart is not 5'10" LOL Are you kidding me? For comparison look at Ronnie Wood or Jeff Beck in any of their videos both of whom stand 5'9" on a good day. I know someone who dated him and she said he was 5'5" without his heels on.
@@SIRDKA www.celebheights.com/s/Rod-Stewart-252.html Based on peak height he can’t be far away. Obviously shorter now he’s an old man. Really appreciate the effort to put these singers in a category of sorts. I look for 5he ones that I like and suppose others do as well...height really means nothing when it comes to octave dynamics or chramisa. A better measure would be octave talent
