      Glad to hear your liking the videos buddy. The wait time is crazy on mills, trucks, SxS and anything of value right now. I’ve had so much trouble finding anything I want. I think all this will dissipate soon. I’m seeing stuff become more available.

    wow these newer controls are much better and faster then the 2008 lt70 controls

    Would love to hear an explanation on what each control does. You are so quick I had a hard time following the mill function to the hand control.

      That’s funny. It’s hard for me to think about what the buttons do in my mind. But my muscle memory knows the controls so well I don’t even think when sawing kinda like riding a bike after so long. I’ll try to do a video to show the controls better.

    This is great. We are getting an electic lt70 soon so I’m studying up. Running a walk behind 70 now.
    More detailed version of this video would be awesome. I’ve watched your other ones and am wondering if there is a button on the joystick that switches the functions from mill to bed. I’ve seen other guys push a button on the dash to do it.
    Thanks!

      This mill is a super hydraulic so it has some difference between it and the electric or walk behind version. It’s the fastest mill woodmizer makes. The controls are very intuitive in my opinion. Everything can be done from your hand controls. Each stick has buttons on the back.
      One controller switches between head and bed functions. One drops head for next cut.
      It also has this function on the dash but takes more time to do

    I've never seen a video like this, where it shows the controls... very nice - Thank you. Few questions: Does the log turner cause any damage to the finished wood, or it doesn't bite enough to hurt it? Also how often do you change your blade? and finally, I've seen in another video where the whole saw unit would shake when it would reach it's stops... yours doesn't seem to do that, overall how solid is the saw being only supported on one side? Seems like a lot of weight to be holding up. Thanks for sharing.

    • @americandream_89
      @americandream_89  2 роки тому +2

      No problem.
      The log Turner is pretty smooth for the most part. If you are not used to it you can dent or scare the wood. But once you know what you are doing it’s not a problem. You have the ability in the set works to turn any hydraulic function down as in speed.
      I change the blade ever 1-1/2 hour.
      More than like if it’s a super 70 shaking it was prior to then installing the mast bracing that come out after 2016. It’s a kit from Woodmizer that welds on the mast. To strengthen it.
      I don’t think anyone could push a super 70 harder than me. Not that I don’t take care of mine. But it gets run rapidly all day. The single side support is so much better in my opinion. It also gives you the control to do load logs or what ever with the head in any position. If a company made a better mill I’d buy one right now. I’ve run a bunch of mills in my day and not been impressed with any over a Woodmizer.

      Very cool video thanks for posting, do you not run a debarker because of your control position?
      Coming to you!!

    • @americandream_89
      @americandream_89  2 роки тому +2

      @@thekiltedsawyer the original debarker I took off. Because Woodmizer’s original design was not the best on support. The arm bearing wears out causing it to sag and bounce off the log. Because it rides at a angled position. They have now redesigned this and have a totally different platform for the debarker. I have never installed it. But have the debarker in my shop. We have a brand new super 70 ordered and I’m going to do a video showing all the new stuff that comes on them.

    Hey I’ve seen you talk about the cruise control on this 70.
    I’ve got a 2011 lt70 and when I talk to Wood-Mizer about adding/upgrading to that feature they told me a 70 shouldn’t have it.. did you add that yourself or did this woodmizer rep I talk to, have the wrong info.
    Thanks! Love your videos, man

      Hey buddy
      Mine is a super 70 which come out in late 2015.
      Just so you know they are a total different machine than a regular 70. Many don’t know that is why I’m mentioning.
      They all come standard with cruise control.
      Is your machine joystick? Our regular 70s we had were flip lever.
      Thanks for letting me know you like the channel it’s always encouraging.

    Is that a 12 volt car charger port I see on the bottom left of the pedestal? Could charge a phone with that. I'm curious what the hourmeter says by now.

    • @americandream_89
      @americandream_89  2 роки тому

      It’s a port to update the mill. I found it weird that it won’t charge anything.
      I’ll look and see I think it’s over 8000

    I bought a new LT 70 a year ago. When I was there picking it up for training the mill started doing some weird things like dropping 4" when it was suppose to drop 1". The information was relayed to Indianapolis. They knew this was going on and were not going to say anything until it happened right in front of me. A year later, they came up with a fix, and they sent out new CPU's and a screen. I have not run it yet but hopefully, there are no more quirks with it. I am curious how you are determining your first cut depth on the log. Are you just eyeballing it to get an initial cut and then continuing down until you move on to roll the log to another side and reduce it down to the cant? Obviously I have not put in enough time on it to figure it all out. My method may not be the proper one not having prior experience.

    • @americandream_89
      @americandream_89  28 днів тому

      Sounds horrible and unlike anyone at Woodmizer I’ve ever dealt with to do that to someone. I personally wouldn’t have took the mail until it was right. Hopefully, it’s fixed now.
      Open a log eyeball all my cuts once you get used to it it’s easy. It just takes some practice.
      Once I make the first cut, I use my set, works for the rest of the log

    I'm waiting for my lt70. It's been almost one year after I ordered it. Is it true that you can set the spend of each hydraulic function. Thank You you are a great Sawyer. Keep the videos coming

      Did you purchase a lt70 or a lt70 super hydraulic? If you got a super you can change the speed of everything. Including head speed and all hydraulic functions. I’ll try and make a video for you.
      Thank you

      Thanks. Woodmizer is sending me a usb fix that should fix the problem. I got my new mill and the computer is not communicating with the head. If you include a shot of the setworks tuning screen that would be helpful. To have a reference to what kind of numbers I should have in all those boxes. Thank God Bless

      @Bill Waldron I got my mill 1 year ago and it had lots of bugs with the set works. Now it operates almost perfectly but auto down still sometimes does not do what it is saying on the screen. Pattern mode and auto up work well. In order to saw in auto down I must always start at a whole number so I have a starting point to rest the head if it messes up. I've change the transducer but still the problem is happening.

    so 1 1/8 equals 1 inch lumber when finished?

    • @americandream_89
      @americandream_89  2 роки тому +1

      Basically. The 1/8 is so it can to dry too 1”. Also helps if your blade wobbles in a knot. So you have some variance to play with. You never want to cut green lumber to the perfect size. It will shrink.

    • @Yettiattack
      @Yettiattack 2 роки тому

      Just like the lumber at the box store 2x4 is cut around that dimension kilned an planed leaving it half inch under dimension for finished product.

    Have you ever had a air heater relay go out?

    • @americandream_89
      @americandream_89  2 роки тому

      Sure haven’t. I’d say the most annoying electrical issue I’ve had is a wire broke in the cat track. That would separate and touch back making it a pain to figure out.

    • @americandream_89
      @americandream_89  2 роки тому

      The 24v circuit can be a pain at times also. If one part has a issue the whole 24v system run off a small inverter acts crazy.
