@@nil7705 I think they have resolved this issue for the run app. Probably was a software issue. But some apps like "other Workout" still have this issue.
I was waiting for this watch for a whole 4 months before it arrived in my country. One of the most elegant smartwatches, if not the most elegant. Very intuitive, very customizable, with an attractive interface with very cool graphics. It has the smartest watch faces of any other brand. Sleep tracking seemed accurate of the time I went to bed and extremely accurate of my wake-ups during the night. There was no way of checking the accuracy of the sleep phases, though, but the sleep score was reflecting my overall mood in the morning. It has limited multitasking during a workout, with access to the music player and phone calls only. When the workout is paused, the multitasking is unlimited to any function. Music player buttons are very INsensitive to the touch. They need a prolonged touch and to be pressed several times before they react. Not very convenient during a workout. Battery life was crazy with an average consumption of 10% daily with all the metrics on and set to the most frequent intervals and with a weekly usage of the GPS for about a total of six hours of operation. This is where the serious weaknesses of the watch begin. I got this watch mainly because I'm a cyclist and I do most of my daily transportation on my bike. I may do up to a hundred kilometers weekly. No matter what combination of GPS settings I used, the GPS was inaccurate with the routes being recorded over buildings in erratic lines, and with curves being shortcutted to diagonal straight lines. Stopping at traffic lights or junctions was automatically picked up immediately and paused. Resuming was picked up within the first 10 to 15 meters. However, the Zepp app would not connect the dots between pause and resume and they would show on the map as gaps. Not a big deal but the problem got worst when the pause was more than 10 minutes, during a visit to a store or a stop for a coffee, for instance. The watch would not pick the restarting of the activity. In one route, a total of 19,4 km was recorded down to 4,6 km. After this incident, I noticed that the watch needed to be resumed manually after having automatically paused for more than 10 minutes. Not at all convenient, as I tend to get forgetful. That's why I needed a watch that I could rely heavily on its automation, but unfortunately, it turned out to be unreliable. However, the HRM and SPO2 seemed to be reasonable with no irregular spikes or ebbs. Additionally, after the third week, I noticed a battery drain. On the third recharging, the watch was charged in the evening to a full charge, I put it on and lay latent until I went to bed. By the following morning, the battery charge had dropped to 66%. I was really sad when I had to return the watch for a refund. Even though the watch is not serving my own needs and lifestyle, I would still recommend it for someone who would use it to track their overall wellness level in a lifestyle different than mine. P.S. I was informed that two consecutive updates fixed the issues I was having, so I rebought a new one. It's been 3 months now and I haven't regretted it. I love it! 🧡

Thank you! Another UA-camr compared the GTR3 PRO to the Polar and claimed very high accuracy. You proved that this is not the case. They share the same sensor. Please update re: wrist positioning as this point is interesting.
Did you have stress monitoring enabled? I have read that it heavily affects the accuracy of Amazfit devices. The users who suspected this noticed fluctuations every 5 minutes, which is how often the watch checks stress levels if turned on. I’d love a confirmation considering you’re in a unique position to test the reliability of these watches and trackers. Cheers!
Hi Rob, thanks for all the great videos. They are really very helpful in helping us determine which smart watches to buy. Would you please make a review of the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro. It is a good watch but I have no idea if the Heart rate measurement was imptoved in the Pro version since in your review of the GTR 3, Heart rate measurement was its worst feature. There's a new Xiaomi watch - Xiaomi Watch S1 that has great features and I would really love to know their performance with scientific tests.
The part about heart rate monitoring is simply not true. I watched your review before I bought my GTR3 Pro and you nearly convinced me not to buy it. I did anyways and am I glad I didnt listen to you. Well, at first there were problems like, workout restart and battery drain but to my surprise they fixed it with an update! Workouts can now last as long as I want and there are no restarts. Also, the battery lasts 7 whole days with 4 times a week workouts and all day measurments of all things but without the AOD. I cant say anything about the sleep monitoring as I dont have the headband thing to test it. But what I can say for sure is that the heartrate sensor always picks up the changes in my rithm. Every time I pick up the speed while running and my heartrate goes up, the sensor noticed it. I cant say does it measures it accurently (I dont have a cheast strap) but it pick up every change in my heartrate. Sorry for the long comment and bad English, but I would really like to see your rereview of the watch, cuz I love to watch your videos and I love my GTR 3 Pro!
I love your informative videos. Could you also check whether Amazfit GTR 3 / GTR 3 Pro were keeping accurate time like Apple watches? Specially when GTR 3 Pro has Wifi, it might able to sync time with NTP time Servers.
@@TheQuantifiedScientist since you are using chest sensor to control test of HR tracking, could you please take additional test, where you test how positioning of watch on your wrist affects on accuracy of HR detection? I have Amazfit GTR 2, and I've noticed measurements of HR dramatically depends on positioning of watch on wrist, since it tends to show much lower BPM if you move watch closer to your palm. Like it can show 120 BPM when you over 150. And I've noticed that you need to positioning watches very far from palm to get more accuracy in BPM
Here's the thing. I have been using it for a week now. So what i found out is that it is accurate if you wear it correctly just as you saw in your last bike ride where you got really accurate heart rate measurements. The problem with the GTR 3/pro is that slight deviations in the wearing can make it inaccurate. So make sure you are wearing it properly. Also I am using an updated firmware so that might also have a role in it. Cheers. And a side note about sleep tracking, well i wouldn't really care if my rem was a bit inaccurate but would it the deep was too inaccurate. So i am fine with it for now. Thanks for the review btw.
Do you think the heartrate is relatively good after the update? I don't care about sleep tracking, but would like the heart rate to somewhat accurate to better calculate my calories during runs. Also, did you try GPS tracking and if so, how accurate is it?
@@lencekk to me all is good. At least that's what it seems. I have verified it with the oximeter I used when I had covid. And it mostly coincides with the watch. Heck the watch gets the next measurement of the oximeter before the oximeter. I don't do much outdoor workout so don't really know about the gps accuracy but one thing is that the gps won't work indoors. They aren't as powerful as our phones' gps. Also the sleep tracking is very decent. Specially when it comes to wake detection. Even that one minute that you are awake when u get up to turn your alarm off so that you sleep an hour more(and be an hour late in, EVERYTHING) is also detected by the watch. Soo.....yeah it's good. But the only thing this is weak in is that since it's not widely popular, app development for this is pretty slow and almost nonexistent.
I've been using the Pro version for 2 months, and I'm quite satisfied with its heart rate. So I'm wondering if you can do a similar wonderful review on the Pro version.🤣
Bought a Amazfit GTR3. I really loved the Zepp app. Very user-friendly and easy to understand. I also loved the design of the clock. It is also very easy to use. BUT... after training and cycling with the clock for a couple of days I was very disappointed. The heart rate measurement is beyond horrible. The clock measured my heart rate to 60-80 when if was clearly near my max about 165! It did this several sessions. I had to return the clock. Don't buy it. I ordered a Polar Grit X, will see if it's reliable.
Under ZEPP > Profile > GTR 2e > Health Monitoring > Activity detection (When watch detects that you are doing exercises, it will automatically increase the detection frequency to guarantee the accuracy of heart rate data during workouts". I wonder if this is turned on when reviewing the watch?

oh my goodness....i just bought 1...,luckily i still have a chance to return the goods... amazfit nowadays released GTR4 GTS4 GTS4 mini, would you test these new watches in future? Please!!
I have this watch and I often wandered if it picks up my heart rate and speed correctly whilst cycling. In my experience after I'm starting to sweat seriously under the watch's sensor, the heart rate monitoring fails completely, showing resting heart rate during an intense unaerobic sprint session. It mostly works fine if I periodically take it off and wipe the sensor of sweat. I also suspect that it picks up my cycling speeds wrong. I haven't been able to verify it yet but I think it under reports speed by about 7-8kmph, which is okay while running, but with cycling it gets annoying. Especially if you want to track your trainings with better accuracy.
Wow your channel is amazing, solid work! I've deleted so many watches from my wish list because of your channel lol. I guess I'll stay with apple watch for now. Could you do the SE by any chance? Keep it up!! Cheers

I love it! 🧡
haha I wish I saw the P.S. at the end before reading the whole comment kinda freaked me out because I'd already ordered the watch
😄
@@abeerbundele1361 There have been major improvements in the updates since last March. GPS not extremely accurate but I'm ok with it. Very stable and customizable ROM and I still love it! I'm sure you will love it as much!
@@menifo4334 how's the sleep tracking holding up after the updates?
@@Dinesh-XP All I can tell you is that the overall grade I m given the following morning reflects my mood. It can also accurately spot the times I may wake up during the night for peeing. You can always callibrate the times you go to bed and wake up.
I was wondering if you could every do a full comparison video of each and what you recommend them for. Maybe a list of top 5 for 2021? Love your videos!!!
This is the only review smartwatch enthusiasts should read to save time !
Nice review as always, just a request if you are reviewing Fitbit daily readiness score review please also include new heart rate data(after update)
I just got my first readiness score today
Good job, end of the year we want a top 5
Thank you! Another UA-camr compared the GTR3 PRO to the Polar and claimed very high accuracy. You proved that this is not the case. They share the same sensor.
Please update re: wrist positioning as this point is interesting.
Great review as usual.
Please review
Mobvoi ticwatch pro 3 ultra.
Huawei watch gt 3.
Thanks for the review!!
Would love to see Huawei Watch GT 3 review soon
Did you have stress monitoring enabled? I have read that it heavily affects the accuracy of Amazfit devices. The users who suspected this noticed fluctuations every 5 minutes, which is how often the watch checks stress levels if turned on.
I’d love a confirmation considering you’re in a unique position to test the reliability of these watches and trackers. Cheers!
beneficial review that gives you an authentic description of the GTR4
Ich mag deine Videos, die Zusammenfassung ist mir am wichtigsten 👍
Danke 🙏
Apparently firmware 8.18 improves hr tracking dramatically, could you test with new firmware?
Hi! My phone says it is at the latest firmware at the current 7.x version. Maybe it is not there yet for my region? Would love to test it
@@TheQuantifiedScientist pls recheck
Looking forward to Amazfit GTR 4 review!! :D
I've been using the Pro version for 2 months, and I'm quite satisfied with its heart rate. So I'm wondering if you can do a similar wonderful review on the Pro version.🤣
It’s the same sensor.
Hello, are you planning to review Amazfit GTR4?
GTR3 PRO! Please 🙏
In the name of Science 😁
Amazfit Stratos should be interesting, too 🙄
Are you going to review the Amafit GRT 3 Pro...could be interesting if that version has been improved or not....
please review on Amafit GRT 3 Pro...
Are you also going to test the GTR 3 Pro?
Bought a Amazfit GTR3. I really loved the Zepp app. Very user-friendly and easy to understand. I also loved the design of the clock. It is also very easy to use. BUT... after training and cycling with the clock for a couple of days I was very disappointed. The heart rate measurement is beyond horrible. The clock measured my heart rate to 60-80 when if was clearly near my max about 165! It did this several sessions. I had to return the clock. Don't buy it.
I ordered a Polar Grit X, will see if it's reliable.
Well done , keep it up. Really enjoying these videos and your style of presentation
Waiting for the update on your GTR 3 to see if there are any improvements. Cheers!
Thanks for the reviews and all the data comparisons 👍
Under ZEPP > Profile > GTR 2e > Health Monitoring > Activity detection (When watch detects that you are doing exercises, it will automatically increase the detection frequency to guarantee the accuracy of heart rate data during workouts". I wonder if this is turned on when reviewing the watch?
These videos make me appreciate my Apple Watch a lot more, i was always impressed at cheap smart bands, but you do get what you pay for. The Galaxy watch 4 has no excuse though. Great content
And to make things worse the Amazfit GTR 3 doesn't let you connect an external HR strap like the Polar.
As always excellent scientific review
Generally Amazfit is not a reliable tracker device
Thanks a lot
Reliable review as always, anyway this is expected in this watch, I like to wait the BipUpro and Neo review since they are included in the video. I'll get the Mi watch next month.
hey Rob, waiting for the amazfit gts TQS reviews!
Good Job again, but especially for sleep Tracking Garmin Venu 2 cant be as that worse in Graphic are you Sure for it?
You are awesome! Thank you for such a great review!
Dude, your videos are amazing. Thanks for the all the efforts you are putting. Can you make a review for GTR4?
What a fantastic review, as always.
Wonder how the GTR4 is improved if at all since they use a larger sensor to collect more data.
Hello! I've been enjoying your channel lately bcs i'm currently looking for a new smartwatch. I've been eyeing Amazfit GTS 3. I wonder if you have a plan to do a review on it?
Thank you for this test. I wanted to buy this watch, but why would I need a device that incorrectly shows my heart rate? Have updates improved heart rate readings?
Do the garmin fenix 6 review pls, much support on your work!
You already have a review of the Venu SQ that has the same sensor as the Fenix 6.
@@francobellomo9979 aaa, thought fenix would be better, from I see the top 3 are apple, polar, fitbit
Another excellent review and another watch to avoid. Can the Huawei GT3 do any better?
Yesterday I received an update. The update Is about heart rate algorithms..I hope now It Will Be Better..thanks for your reviews!
We already seen that tale with amazfit, 1/2 update is about HR accuracy, never seen it.
I have had a fitbit charge 3 for a long time and was thinking about this one looked nice, great battery and good set of features. Now with watching your videos I will not be going that way.
Got to figure out what I am thinking wanting to spend under $250.
Wow surprisingly inaccurate heart monitor, great review as always, interested to see how the new oura ring 3 and huawei gt3 shape up as they have new sensors in both.
Hi Rob, you have many followers begging for the Amazfit GTR 3 pro to be tested! We do appreciate the work and effort you put in and would highly appreciate if you can put nip this one in the bud. Cheers 👍
oh my goodness....i just bought 1...,luckily i still have a chance to return the goods...
amazfit nowadays released GTR4 GTS4 GTS4 mini, would you test these new watches in future?
Cheers
what about GTR4, when do you estimate you will test it?
I don't think he will, Pixel Watch came out just a few weeks ago and he already tested it, meanwhile the GTR 4 has been out for months and still nothing... I am literally waiting on his review for that watch to know if I should buy it or not :(
Please do a video on Samsung watch 4 after the update as samsung claims they had a new heart rate algorithm you are videos are amazing by the way thanks
You should do a video about smartwatches that you would recomend.
could you analyze versa 3? They say it has improved a lot with the latest updates
Are you planning to check the accuracy of the Fitbit Charge 5's ECG? Was included in the latest update.
Garmin Venu 2 seems to be in a wrong place on the graph of Devices' comparision (6:44 - 7:25).
In the video of Fitbit Charge 5 tests, it' s ranked in much more higher position which is more realistic.
Maybe you ought to consult the Amazfit firmware database before running the tests, so that you've ensured that the tests run on the latest update, which could potentially yield more reliable and objective results.
Hi Meni, thanks for your comment. As I mention in the comment section of the video, this was the latest firmware available in my region. I will be doing more tests of course for new firmware when available. Have a great day!😊
@@TheQuantifiedScientist Looking forward to it!
@@TheQuantifiedScientist Very interested to see if the results change after the latest firmware update. This watch seems to check all the boxes, but it's worthless to me if its not at least semi accurate on the HR tracking.
I was waiting for this video
I guess the GTS3 and GTR3 pro would be the same because they’re using same sensors
Please do a test on amazfit t rex pro
Thanks bro
Please perform a test of Honor GS Pro sensor test. I am using it for long time but not sure about the accuracy. Please.
Please test gtr 3 pro.
Any chance of having a Review of the GTR4 now?
Gtr4 please!
I wonder how much difference a 3rd party strap could make. I'm debating finding a different watch and returning my GTR 3 Pro. I bought these nylon bands that help the watch sit much more flush with my weird wrists, but I have no other heart data tracking devices to test against.
Thanks for this info do you have video for the gtr3 pro?
Hey please make a new review with the updates firmware like the MiBand 7. Because I believe it has improved a lot. I don't have a Polar heart rate strap but I use the oximeter what I used when I had covid and the measurements are 90% of the time accurate. So please consider retest.
Hey, is it possible for you to test theAmazfit Bip U pro? N also clarify what NYSE version refers to. Thnx in advance.
Thanks for your Video.
You did your test with latest Firmware Update? There was approvement in heart rate messurement Band GPS Signal i think.
You can also do same test with GTR 3 Pro, this watch has also slight differences in Hardware
The HR sensors are same in all GTR 3 and GTS 3 series. Pro only has temperature sensor extra
@@MrSenthil21 i thought there are differences in Hardware too... Also in one Additional positioning System etc....
Please do huawei gt 3 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi, it would be great if you use different color for different devices in scattered plot.
Thanks for all your great reviews! Are you planning on reviewing the GTR 4? Or at this point, have you given up on Amazfit lol
Will there be a video after the update?
Hi. Any plans to do one on the Ticwatch Pro Ultra?
