Didn’t realize the amazing views of Downtown Toronto off southbound Don Valley Pkwy.
Plus all the other skylines views along Ontario Hwy 404, Don Valley Pkwy, Gardiner Expwy & Ontario Hwy 427.

Your drive brings back so many memories when I used to live in Toronto. I loved driving down the DVP on a fall day with the colored leaves on both sides of the highway and seeing the awesome Toronto skyline.

Fun personal fact actually about that bridge, one of my elementary school teachers back in the day used to always tell us stories about that very bridge and how her father/grandfather (can't exactly recall who) were one of the key engineers bridging the two sides of Toronto back in the 1910s. Whenever I cross that bridge underneath or ride that TTC Subway line, somehow always recall of her and her stories.

@@bigdripbobz1072That's a wonderful memory to keep :). Going from Castle Frank towards Broadview is my favourite part of Line 2 because of the view.

I should have spent more than one day in Toronto and just extended that vacation back in '17. The Gardiner was a moving (sometimes) parking lot that afternoon. Nice to see it at speed. The older, six-lane highways have the same problem as in the US: not enough capacity, and it will be difficult to expand them.

Yeah the Gardiner wasn’t as bad in terms of traffic as I anticipated.

@@MileageMikeTravels I sometimes prefer taking the gardiner instead of the 401 to get to the other side of town nowadays. 401 got some weird atlanta downtown connector type system between 409 to 427 that always causes backlog of traffic. On a weekend day, I'm taking the gardiner route rather than the 401.

I love Toronto but they need to extend 400 south or west.or a.parkway

How would you compare the Don Valley Parkway with the Cross Bronx Expressways or other NYC interstates?

Better than that & the BQE I’ll tell you.

DVP is definitely better, the DVP at least has "lucky" periods during the weekdays where there actually is no traffic 401 to Downtown the entire length. And honestly its just the 401-eglinton portion of the DVP which usually contains the heavy traffic most days if there is traffic - however it was weird seeing in this video he had the exact opposite traffic experience. 😂

@@bigdripbobz1072 If you go northbound during pm rush it’s jammed throughout the entire length.

Nothing in Toronto was as bad as the BQE, Cross Bronx, nor Belt Parkway. While Toronto also has a couple of wider, modern freeways like the 401 and 407. But to be fair NYC is larger, more dense, and geographically constrained than Toronto.

i do prefer 'freeways' as opposed to 'Tollways'

This has to be in the top 5 best collective of skylines in North America if not the world.

If Toronto had real public transportation and didn't operate as a sleepy little town, it would definitely be a World City
