I have been following the Panthers owners club videos from England for years. I suspected there was more than a few in Ontario, but I've never seen one. Beautiful to see and hear. Thanks for posting, three years ago. I'm a bit behind. All my bikes are vintage, but Japanese. Have a huge soft spot for the British bikes, but the investment is above my snack bracket. Cheers
@waynemullally6423 understood Wayne. Above my price point now too. The Panther is now in the hands of a collector in Minnesota, but it was fun while I had it.
A loose slide on a Monobloc was the bane of my life when I had an old Triumph 3TA. It caused a horrible flat spot from just above idle to about quarter throttle, bad enough to stop the engine if you didn't know how to manage it. I couldn't get replacement parts of good enough quality to fix it in those days. Lucky for me, my current AJS has a Concentric which is much better behaved. Con't help admiring the big Panthers.
Fortunately we have global resources at our fingertips these days. I probably could have had the old carb resleeved, but ofted for the quick and easy fix of a new one. It has worked out well so far. Thanks for your thoughts. Stay well. Nick
Started well. You have to love a sloper - not a new idea using the engine as a stressed member as modern manufacturers would have you believe! Nice bike and a pretty rare sight on the road these days. Can’t wait for a riding video.
Didn't use the choke? Or the advance/retard lever, or decompression pedal? Is it not needed as you have a coil on it and not the original magneto? NO AIR FILTER! You have larger one's then I have my friend!

Amal carburetors.... and suddenly, you transported me back 60 years....
Nice bike and great cold start !!👍👍🇨🇦
The older bikes have character
OMG, now I will stop chasing tappets! Looks just like mt 64, 120.
Thanks for video, Regards Frank

Like a steam engine , lovely. Don't know why but for some reason I thought you'd sold it!
There've been times I've thought about it Richard, but I'm promised myself at least one good adventure first. Roll on spring.
The 650cc Panther may have been the largest single cylinder motorcycle at that time. Did not know it had dual exhaust for a single cylinder. Nice.
@@GereDJ2 But made in Britain. Cleckheaton, Yorkshire.
@@nick949eldo Has sort of a 650 BSA, Lightning Rocket looking gas tank, of about the same timeframe.
Just put a voltage regulator on my 00 V11 Sport. Have juice flowing to the bat. again. I went for a ride the other day.
no valve lifter? nice one kick start though Nick.
Cable broke Paul, so I sacrificed the hole in the rocker cover to the Gods of better crankcase breathing.
Got the 'sloper' running did you? Yes it's getting to be that time of year where you start looking to the Future. No airbox on that bike?
Proper motorcycles don't have airboxes (whatever they are) - you know that Dave.
Well you are right on that one. The cylinder walls get well-honed this way :-)
Good one Dave.@@davidpianosi4512
Oh, goodness- 650 thumper! My 500 can be mean-spirited enough when she decides to kick back, I don’t think My leg could handle another 150 cc 🤣
Just never leave your foot on the kickstart once you've kicked. Oh - and always make sure the ignition is retarded fully.
