That sounds serene. 35 years ago I did that with my dt175 but decided I needed to go out back and do infinite donuts on my parents lawn. Had some explaining to do when spring came.
Well done! Winter actually seems to be easing here in the South Okanagan. My wintry bike is also a single, a 1974 Honda XL350. If the ignition timing is correct, and a kick just after TDC with just a hint of throttle administered, it is a two or three attempt cold starter as well. Not enough power or brakes to get in (much) trouble on slippery, gravelly roads.
Hi from Onterrible! Love that long hill coming out of Osoyoose, a favorite UA-cam bike video is of a Suzuki x800 churning up it! I have an old vX800 in my garage waiting for the snow to go :) Used to roam BC's deserts -great bike country.
@@jimksa67 One of my vivid memories is chugging up that hill on my old airhead R80RT and being passed on a hairpin by two blokes on big KTM’s. They were literally dragging their elbows…gone in a flash!
@@nick949eldo It just doesn't look right to my eyes is what drew my attention there. I did a quick search for images of other bikes with the same description to compare with. There aren't many, but, all of them show the center stand feet are flat on the ground. Also, the legs are straight - no curve like yours. Just a curious detail is all I'm pointing out - if it works then it works. Maybe the original got lost to time and and this is a compatible replacement.
Thanks, you're probably right. I don't have a clue, but thanks for taking the time to look into it. I'm not likely to change it unless an original pops up.
Sounds lovely. British bikes definitely sound the best! Great video, thanks.
Love the sound
Panther is just waiting for some clean/dry roads. Enjoyed the video Nick and RIDE SAFE!

Haha😁
A Cleckheaton-made classic. Brilliant, mate.
Sweet! :)
Great stuff! I think the rotating snow on your tyre has hypnotised me into thinking I’m on a summer camping trip. Not long now…
This is the time of year we all dream.
Nick! You aren't suppose to start your motorcycle in the winter it's very bad hahaha. Cheerz thx for another great video.
It looks like there's a concerning amount of mould in your drywall, Nick. Bike sounds wonderful.
LIke the ending. Panther says with a PUFF of Smoke - Screw this I am out a here ! 🤣

Hi Nick. Lovely vid as always but as an Australian, hearing you say that it’s minus 3 so it’s gotten warmer makes me shudder. 🙂
Hah. Mild winter this year. It's only been down to -15c once so far.
Not bad at all.
Clearly the Panther is only waiting for that moment when the snows melt. Was that on your normal summer weight oil?
20/50 I think Jonathan.
Chug chug- what a mug! :)
Hey Nick- did yu notice it back fired when you shut it down? Love the infernal combustion engine! Hi from snowy Picton!
Yep. They bite unless you're paying attention 😛
Question: The center stand looks like it is mounted backwards the way the feet at angled. Is that right?
I have no idea. It was that way when I took possession of it. It works. Thats good enough for me 😆

You make that look so easy! Thanks
Can you tell us what ignition system you have on your Panther ? I thought I read somewhere that you are no longer running a magneto
It's called a Thorspark .. Works well. www.sussexmotorcycles.com/thorspark.html
I'm sure if you had a side car, the bike would be on the road ☺
I have had sidecars in the past - and yes, probably.
Why were you starting it? This isn't it bad to start it if you can't run it for 10 minutes or more?
People worry too much. It will outlast me.
@@nick949eldo ha ha Yeah, to worry is to Sin!
There is hope for us 60 year olds lol !
Dude, I like the vid, but yr both too old to go anywhere
Respect!!!
Age is a state of mind. I'd probably whup your arse. And the bike will outlive us both.
@@nick949eldo you're probably right on both counts ;-)
