Joeythebabykangaroo yea, Kinda sad they are only remembered by the masses because of more than words. Not underrated in the guitar world at least, nuno is considered one of the best.
I hated "more than words" back in 91/92; cue to.2016 where a girl tells me to listen to Pornograffitti; i did, and i was like "wow!! these guys RULE!!" I immediately i became a fan. And now I even like "More than words."
When their first album came out they did a meet and greet at my local guitar store. I was 11 and big into guitar. Nuno sat in the amp room with a few of us and showed some licks from that album and was the coolest, nicest, most humble dude. Invited me, my buddy and mom to the show, had us backstage and let me plink around on his guitar before the show. Just the nicest person. The show was all really loud, heavy tunes from that first album but they did play "More Than Words". I asked my mom what she thought of the band afterwards and she was like, "Well, I liked that acoustic song." Haha!
Lets be honest...they could just play one song at every concert and people would be happy. But damnit that song is an absolute national treasure. If I was a 1 or 2 hit wonder, I would be damn proud if it was More Than Words! What a masterpiece they wrote.
I was near the front when they played here. At the end Nuno threw his pick in the audience and 2 girls in front of me started scrapping over it. My girlfriend spotted it on the ground between them and just reached down and picked it up while they were fighting, and gave it to me. What a legend!
LostMyMojo100 Very much underrated! Extreme was never a sell-out. It's always all about the music with these guys. Nuno will do what Nuno wants no matter what anyone says or does. True artist. Extremely talented. Been a fan for 25 years.
Love the story of Steven Tyler who writes in big letters on their dressing room door, 'Play the fucking song!' His attitude was almost father-like. He was like, 'Look, this is your first time in Poland. When do you think you will be back? They want to hear it, so play it!'" .....
I can't believe anybody can criticize these guys musically. They were just a few years too late. Otherwise they would have been one of the bigger (as in top 5 or 10) bands in the 80's. These guys matured very quickly. Porno sounds like a great band that has been around for a while, yet it was only their second album. 3-Sides even more so. A criminally underrated band that got fucked over by the unfortunate shifting of musical tides in the 90's. Very grateful that they still are around.
Just came here from an episode of band reunited where VH couldn't get Nuno to sign on. Now I find out they got back together and are still going. Crazy.
If extreme ever gets interviewed again, can they talk about Selena and her favorite song being More Than Words being her favorite song? Her husband and her used to play/sing it together.
I was driving my Taxi cab in NYC 1991 More than words comes on the radio. The woman sez to her "man I love this song"! She whispered in his ear and I had a rear view mirror view of a couple making love in the back seat of my NYC Taxi Cab.
It's hilarious that "More Than Words" was used as a wedding song, when it's really just a come-one song, very prettily done: "If you really loved me--you'd have sex with me, and not just say it!" When really, saying it is what is meaningful, cause most people can't say it convincingly if they don't mean it.
Gary’s lyrics and song writing sense isn’t stellar. For example , Nuno’s solo debut is ten times better than Van Halen 3. Songs like seven sundays, little Jack horny , shit like that ….it was eye rolling ….but in that same sense , Hole Hearted , More Than Words , Stop The World ….those tunes are the nerve endings to those respective albums….Nuno was their saving grace….and they all know it. I’m glad Nuno has taken a little more of the reins in that process…the new album is STELLAR , and I’m here for it. No offense to Gary. He tries. Tribe of Judah was decent .
Wow i hate when someone in a band front the interview all the way not giving space to other band mate especially the singer wtf nuno still too excited n hard up with answering interviews n ure afraid u dont shine thats too selfish..im kind of disappointed ...
Always been a goofy band. I don't know what it is but I never took them seriously. They're like a circus rock act performin' stunt 'death-defyin' guitar pickin' and songs that thrill, yet don't quite ignite the imagination like a Led Zepplin with all it's dark folklore. There's a reason why it took England 30 years. Primarily as well today the paradigm has shifted where rock acts capable of touring will be booked more easily than before because that's how $income$ is generated in today's music scheme.
"Hole hearted" has that d chord descending riff off the 4 fret which was every college dorm room's experimental riff when they wanted to play something 'cool' besides standard chords. And "Get the Funk out" is like a hyperkinetic Jimi Hendrix rip off riff, with the most generic (white boy funk) bass line imaginable. Granted, they got their audience, great. But not for me, that's all, just my opinion. Brian May has a Phd. in Quantum Physics. That takes an average of 7 years of intense studying and research and life long commitment to keeping up on academic research, music took a back seat for him after Queen, his technique never evolved further than his heyday with Freddie, of course, wouldn't take much to be impressed by such an impresario as Nuno. Nuno is a good solo artist, but as far as Extreme goes, I guess it's just something that he could have either been a part of or not been a part of. I think he he should've taken the route of a Steve Vai or Joe Satriani or even a Marty Friedman, more of a solo instrumentalist career path when he started. He is capable of it and I think he could've produced some fantastic 'out of this world' guitar instrumentals with his style of playing.
The most disgustingly misunderstood and underrated band of the 80's and 90's. Massively talented.

@@longde That’s exactly how I was with Welcome to the jungle by GnR but now I enjoy it!🤘🏻

Extreme lovers or haters, when talked about Nuno, all of them admit that he's a monster on guitar.
Can't believe Nuno's already 50yrs old, he still looks hot as ever!

Gary’s voice is so beautiful along with Nuno’s crazy gift on the guitar ! Btw, Nuno is still looking hot...it makes me cry !😅
Gary Cherone has the most beautiful voice. Ballads or heavy, he just does it for me.
but his moves are sooo cheesy and fake
He sings like David Lee Roth
Nuno is still so beautiful
Saw Extreme live in Brisbane, Australia, Gary is singing better than ever, what a great frontman
So glad they're still kickin' it strong! Love them!!
Hell yeah extreme crack on!!! Listen KOL playing in background lol! 😎🎸🥁🎼
Cherone seems like a really nice guy in person.
They are so cool. gorgeous and brilliant musicians

Yes! Extreme making new music. Can't wait 😊
Nuno let Gary speak haha.
IKR lmao!
Damn, Nuno is a microphone hog. Sorry Nuno, Gary was put way over with VH3!
Gary prob tells Nuno to take the lead cuz he's gotta save his voice for the stage. Also, not all lead singers are david lee roth.
I know right!? Wtfunk!
Nuno , up their with the best of the best and I love this damn band

Extreme is one of the most underrated bands ever, Nuno is the greatest.
New album? Fuck yeah
They are simply amazing live!
Just came here from an episode of band reunited where VH couldn't get Nuno to sign on. Now I find out they got back together and are still going. Crazy.

Oh dear God!!!!!
She probably thinks their debut album is pornografitti?

I swear Nuno had plastic surgery. He looks way better now than he did in 2013 or so.
Let gary speak.. ugh. 🤨🤐😠
WTF, Nuno hasn't aged! What's the deal?
Who freaking cares?
Wow i hate when someone in a band front the interview all the way not giving space to other band mate especially the singer wtf nuno still too excited n hard up with answering interviews n ure afraid u dont shine thats too selfish..im kind of disappointed ...
was gary cherone into drugs the last 30 years? next to Nuno he looks like a compost heap
