I can't imagine the amount of concentration it must have taken to walk backwards and sing the lyrics backwards, AND to do both tasks so well that it looks and sounds nearly seamless played forwards. So awesome + awesome = what, super awesome?
People really don't give him enough credit. He is ridiculously talented and brilliant at what he does. Others try to imitate but still fall short. Al's truly one of a kind.
Al is incredibly talented an utterly brilliant. In this case I must also give mad props to the original song, which is incredibly beautiful on its own.
In a different video, weird Al explains that that is a real wooden structure that could’ve killed him had he been standing in the wrong spot. It was a single take, it really fell on him, and they had to get all the exact measurements to make sure it didn’t hit him. He said he was trying to create what they used to do an older movies but they didn’t want to use cardboard or something flimsy, so it’s real.
The backwards part is SOOOO awsome! They should do things like that and the 2 camera effect of "Cheryl Cole - 3 Words", for example, more often. It makes a clip far better than 1/2 naked chicks in the background acting as if they had no brain... :)

However, apparently Coolio came up and chatted with him at the 2006 Consumer Electronics show. Al later said he was surprised as anyone but it was very civil and joked that he doesn't think he'll ever be invited Coolio's birthday party but now feels like he can walk out of the house without a bulletproof vest.
Yeah i saw an interview with Coolio from like 11 years ago where he talked about it. He said that back then he was basically high on his own supply in being enamored with himself at being a celebrity and was upset that he felt like everyone went behind his back because the label approved it without his knowledge. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized how stupid he was being because Weird Al is a legend and Michael Jackson never got mad at being parodied, and is he really better than Michael Jackson? That realization is when he decided to apologize to Weird Al.
This man is an absolute genius - just like MANY crazy people. & what a great voice. You can really really tell from this song (a few others, not quite as much). World's coolest nerd!
