From a comment I leave here some information.
- Don't forget to modify the username in the script you downloaded with the username you created :)
- The command to edit the sudoers file is: "nano /etc/sudoers". Also its possible that you need to install in Debian the following package: "sudo apt install dbus-x11" (after doing the "proot-login debian" command)

I know you probably get this often, but thank you for making this process easier than pulling teeth. I actually found another solution while doing this, but having linux running on my phone isn't even something I knew was possible. After avoiding the channels with higher views, which were potentially scams, I came across this channel and in two videos I got it. Thank you.

You can use ctrl with a third party keyboard called "unexpected keyboard" if thats what you mean

But I had a problem with a custom user name that failed to load when I opened termux x11 after downloading a shell file using wegt. When I returned to termux, I was told that the user name 'droid master' did not exist (seems to be this one). I don't think it is possible to connect a printer using USB to Termux proot as it doesn't detect the external USB devices if I'm not mistaken
SUPREME VICTORY!!! Ran into some bumps along the way like:
- Constantly typing termuc instead of termux
- Almost setting the wrong password because I didn't know it hides your inputs
- HOW DO I EXIT NANO (I didn't know that ^X means ctrl+X. Yes, I've made that mistake before. I thought I learned I Did Not. Also I had to use the Termux ctrl button and then press X on my actual keyboard because my physical one would just close the whole damn app)
- Script-kun wanted me to be droidmaster, but I couldn't lie to him like that...
- After editing script-kun, WAIT HOW DO I EXIT NANO AGAIN
- dbus was too busy composing another Arabesque to hop on termux, so i had to drag him here with pkg install dbus
- Immediately turning on window scaling x2 which moved the settings almost out of view
(honourable mention for all the ominous errors and failures that didn't seem to matter in the end)
but we are so back. im going to use this for literally one thing ever and that's using obsidian the way god intended

Bro I couldn't install the zsh, and the username has glitched it's just showing the tilde~ , if I promt username it just shows root, how to fix this glitch?
I think it is just the zsh default shell (do echo $SHELL) to check it. You can change to bash with the command 'bash' or I would try to reinstall zsh with the theme powerlevel10k

dude, i checked in the display setting of the xfce4 proot distro, it shows 30 hertz? why is that so?
I think it is the default refresh rate that Termux detects, not sure if it can be fixed easily :(

Hi! Try installing dbus-x11 with "apt install dbus-x11" or "apt install dbus". Also make sure you have all this installed:
pkg update
pkg install x11-repo
pkg install termux-x11-nightly
pkg install pulseaudio

Yep network configuration in proot can't be modified because of permissions. Are you able to do some ping? for example ping google.com?
@@LinuxDroidMaster no ping, nothing ,network manager doesnt work. I have remove debian and proot and install it again now it works like a charm.

I haven't had any luck with docker (you need Root for that) but I have pending to try to install plex media server, transmission and the classic services used in a home media server like the one I have in my raspberry pi
Oh understood Yeah that would be kinda cool if we could run those services natively we could use the older phones put to better use as media servers.

It only worked when I added droidmaster on the users. When I used my own it says user doesn't exist. After I got it to work with droidmaster user, I deleted it again. It still works but the droidmaster is on the desktop top right when it logs in. Am I supposed to be able to edit the users from within the desktop UI?
Hi! If you want to user another user just modify the "start...." script and change droidmaster with your username (from Termux itself before executing it)

I only have 30Hz refresh rate in Display settings. How to set it 60Hz?
I think it is an issue with Termux X11 only detecting that refresh rate. I would suggest trying to set 60Hz in the device settings and see if that helps

Probably there was some error running the script. Check you have this installed on Termux: www.xfce-look.org/browse?cat=107&ord=rating
Did you enter a different user? I had the same issue, and it seems to have been due to the script provided (startxfce4_debian.sh) trying to log me in as droidmaster while my user was something else.
I'm coming to this from a point of having literally never used termux (or GitHub, really) in my life but so far I think the "correct" solution is editing the script to replace droidmaster with , putting that script on your own page, then editing the link in the "wget" bit to lead to your version of the script.
nevermind took me like 5 seconds to "remember" (procrastinate doing my weird solution and go read other comments) that the OP mentioned a way to edit the script in termux XD

I have matepad 11 how do I use stylus? It just does absolutely nothing unless I turn stylus mouse.
I don't use a stylus with termux but the last versions of termux x11 has some settings about it if I'm not mistaken, did you check them?

Edit the script, use nano
Then scroll down and change "droidmaster" to your username. Don't forget to his the ctrl+o then enter, then ctrl+x then enter

did you disable phantom processes? About the permissions do you have a samsung device? there are some problems with them but they can be fixed

Right now it looks like information is coming out about a worthwhile global ROM (NEC ROM) but you have to wait still. I would not recommend using a global ROM of the ones out there because they come with many features that are not activated and are outdated.

Yes you can but some programs doesn't run as root

I see the last command is only for debian.
I will try debian as shown in the video but is the distro outdated? Could you provide a tutorial on how to install apps and what kind of apps work on Linux though Termux?
I personnally prefer Debian because it is easy to use and it doesn't give too much problems (and I'm used to it) but you can do everything in other distros, you just need to learn how to install the same packages but for the distro you are using. I would like to do some videos about other distros and how to configure them when I have time :)

I wanted Free download manager but the Deb file is AMD64.
Do u know of any other similar download managers or could you try installing it on Termux?
They let u download stuff even after download fails.
There is Android version of the app but the recent update for my phone made every app except termux shut down when it is in the background so I gonna use this way.
I usually use torrents so I don't have that problem (I will publish a video this Friday about setting a Torrent server in Termux) but it might be possible using wine or something like this if there is no ARM alternative (I want to research about wine and do a video when I have time)

Hi! Did you install proot-distro with Debian and inside XFCE? Are you having some error in Termux? For example if you have Android 12 or greater you need to disable phantom processes: ua-cam.com/video/1Vtxi7TxxlE/v-deo.html

@@jeffrylouis I recommend you learning a bit of linux basics. "LS" command (in lowercase) its used to list the files and folders in the path you are, that way you can check it if the script you downloaded exists

@@jeffrylouis WPS doesn't have a package for the architecture of Android devices (arm) so I would recommend you installing libreoffice instead (another ofimatic suite)

@@lucasjstn that means that you are running command already inside proot distro but the scripts needs to be run in termux native (no proot)

Why do you always add a new super user DroidMaster to login, why not stay with the root user?
It is a good practice not running everything with super user privileges and some programs don't work running them as root

@@danielkotzer636 I don't know which ones because I always try to run things without super user permissions if possible hahaha You can be fine only with root but if you write something by mistake (for example rm -rf /) you will break all the distro or in chroot it could be even worst and brick the device

I have a second phone stock 6.0.1 but with roms it is 11 now and smoother 'above android 11 is possible but I already have android 14 on main phone and 11 size is smaller and more backward compatible'
I recommend Lineage OS.
@@zxq2370 It is a lenovo legion y700 tablet (2022 model), the only custom ROMs are the GSI which I have a video about it. I also use and old mi pad 4 with lineage as a mini server to do my tests

@@LinuxDroidMaster al reproducir audio se mueven los pequeños medidores en la config de pulseaudio pero no suena nada. La salida principal se llama dummy. Igualmente se acaba desconectando y da error signal 9
El error signal 9 es por los phantom processes, comprueba esto: ua-cam.com/video/1Vtxi7TxxlE/v-deo.html

Using VNC is like adding another layer for the graphical part. Using Termux X11 is faster because it's more optimized and doesn't depend on the connection to the VNC server program which it's slower

If you take a look at the first lines in the start.... Script you can see the command to stop X11 services running in the background. If not just close Termux (from the background apps too)
