- Today I finally got rid of the horrible standard steering wheel on my alfa romeo Giulietta QV - Cloverleaf.
Instead I installed a Fiat 500 Abarth wheel with very little modifications.

Brilliant mate thanks for this, I'll be doing the same. Just bought my 1st Alfa Romeo giulietta, got lots of Alfa problems to sort lol, heater blowing cold on one side , rear wiper is mental. Anyway love the steering wheel mod, definitely getting this done top job thanks
Glad you enjoyed it. Heater blowing cold I think will be the matrix blocked. Rear wiper is a common problem and will be the wires broken via the tailgate. Remove the rubber sleeve and you will see them. Kits are available to replace the broken wires or just solder if you can. Enjoy your new motor
@@trollmanrs brilliant thanks pal, just ordered my steering wheel, I'll look into the matrix and wiring thanks for the advice much appreciated
It looks superb ! Thanks for your video !
Thanks for watching!
Very helpful, thanks.
Hi
Did u notice the steering wheel multi function buttons lit up orange instead of the guilietta wheel red ones ?or did u remove and swap units over?
Can't say I havedriven it in the dark to notice the buttons lighting up. sorry.
Thanks for your video. You think abarth paddle shifter will work also for automatic giulietta ?
No idea, I have the manual version.
What year model steering wheels work on the Giulietta? Thanks in advance.
2008 - 2014 ish, you can tell as the buttons look identical to the Alfa Giulietta ones. Good luck
That was useful, thanks! Do you maybe know any other options for Giulietta? Maybe a steering wheel from the new Abarth 500 will fit? Or Giulia?..
Hi,
New abarth wheel will not fit. I believe someone has installed a Guila wheel, but not sure if the switches work.
@@trollmanrs alright, thanks. I will probably go for 159 wheel, at least there are plenty of them on sale...
I have a jullietta 2013 which model of from FIAT will be compliant? My car doesn't have Bluetooth connectivity.
2008 - 2014 ish, you can tell as the buttons look identical to the Alfa Giulietta ones
Just found this so now im wondering if a giulia unit will fit on my 16 plate veloce
I believe it will physically fit, but none of the buttons will work. Not sure about the airbag either.
Can you use cruise control on the steering wheel without stick?
The controls are the same, I'm not really sure what you are asking?
Apart from looks, does it feel lighter/heavier or same as stock wheel?
Much better feel to the actual steering wheel, but I did it for the looks.
@@trollmanrs Great! Thanks
What size badge did u use
I used a 56mm wheel centre badge.
I bought a wheel but it only has the purple pin, is that an issue?
You mean the airbag only has a single purple connector? Yes that is a single stage airbag, you need a dual stage airbag which has a yellow & purple connector.
If you get into an accident, that stick on badge is gonna suck. I recommend buying a 4C airbag. The Abarth and the 4C use the same airbag design and shape (at least here in the U.S.) so if you switch it over it’ll look much more factory and be much safer too.
It's just a sticker, similar to what was already on there, not sure on your point really?
Cool video bro how much did the fiat wheel cost?
cheers, I can't remember exactely, but you can find them on ebay. Just make sure you get the correct airbag with the 2 connectors.
Hello what is the exact socket I need to unscrew the steering wheel nut? Thank you in advance!
watch again 4:14
@@Zeghetankno need I have installed it long ago ago!
Hello, great idea. How can u tell which wheel will fit. If u dont care about working switches ? Or is it just a guessing game?thx
Hi,
If uou don't care about working switches and airbags then I've heard the Alfa 159 wheel will fit.
@@trollmanrs thx.Well the Airbag should Work 😅
@@fredb7814 h yes but there are 2 types a single and double blow with either a single or double connector.
@@trollmanrs OK thx
Thank you👏
You're welcome 😊
Doing the same to my Mito, but it's from the 159 without controls.
Does it work well and do the commands respond ?
@@raph1675 I'm yet to do it.
It's taking a while.
All I know is, the wheel should attach to the car.
I mentioned without controls.
Don't need them, personally. Never use them.
I am not sure this steering wheel play well with the rest of the interiour
It's a cheapish mod and I think it's better than the horrible standard steering wheel, esp in the QV
Just bought myself one of the Abarth 500 wheels, just need a badge and good to go
I used a 56mm wheel centre badge.
@@trollmanrs Yes that is what I have put on also
Thanks for your video. Steering wheel controls works ?
Yes, buttons are the same on both wheels
@@trollmanrs Do you think the 2016 Abarth steering wheels are also compatible?
@@assettocorsa902 no they are not.
