Generally what I have found is focusing on multipliers over almost anything else works extremely well, and are the only way to go into free play more than a couple rounds. I have been able to get multiple million coins by multiplying flowers!
I love this game and have been addicted to it for the past month. If you are new to it, then I would recommend watching Olexa, or DarkJediPlays on it to see some of the crazy synergies you can get! :D
