@@ddesmarais7251 Italy is entirely an exercise in your understanding of mechanics & your abilities, just because there is a new DLC doesn't mean you have to get it immediately, go play a handful of games as the US and Germany, then give countries like Italy & Japan another go especially now with AI concentrating forces (which im sure will improve even more in future patches) Italy is difficult as fuck as new player. you haven't missed anything considering this DLC doesn't change anything about Italy other than the AI being better, and BBA only added added alt history paths for Italy.
@Bitt3rSteel the prerequisites at 4:40 have changed. It no longers requires an army 24 times larger, but instead 500k manpower and 50k inf equipment on the field. I guess its part of the day 1 patch.

@crunch.dot.73 oh absolutely, it also encourages exceptionally aggressive playstyles, ive found late 1938 wars & 1939 barbs to work best cause you dont have the maluses at that point, and your enemies are still weak Before id always go with 1939 wars & 1941 barbs cause thats when you usually were still the strongest, and since you didnt have to rush due to mefo bills you could dictate exactly when to go to war
It is not objectively worse in the grand scheme of things though, considering most of the focus on its branch are short and the number of focuses needed to finish the build is less than the other branch. If anything it encourages early conquest and as long as you manage to capitulate the allies and take everything your problem is solved and you could continue doing other focuses. In contrast, the other focus encourages you to spend more time building your industry and generally this tends to make your conquest a bit delayed, of course you could choose to not finish everything and start your conquest earlier, but if thats your kind of playstyle why wouldnt you just start with the mefo bills and be rewarded earlier

@buddermonger2000 play online. I've done world conquest against the AI with Ethiopia before offline. Winning a war against the terrible albeit slightly better then before AI proves nothing. The Mefo bills nerf has nothing in the focus tree to replace it that is reasonable to achieve before 1940. My pre new patch build had 75000 more construction then the best post patch build i could find. Thats 11 ish military factories worth of production that is just gone. Against actual players germany will never break France. Either with a France player or a UK player. Germany cannot build a reasonable amount of armor and planes now. You have to pick one. You could have both before and you needed both against a competent opponent. Edit the comparison between the 2 builds was June 1939.
@@MikeKing001 I don't like pvp multiplayer so no, I will not be playing online thanks, nor does that do anything to bring balance to the fact that Germany can move through its focus tree at lightning pace, getting to those juicy benefits waaaaaaaaaay more quickly than the US can. I really do not care about the spreadsheets showing an overall loss in strength when the video showcasing the DLC showed off a meme superheavy armored Germany beating up on the US... somehow I think that merits the US getting a well deserved rework.

I played a game as historical Germany and holy shit it was a lot of fun. I did things very much different from your guide and I probably didn't do everything optimally, but the world was very very brown at the end of 1947. I love the armored support companies, they give tank batallions the final oomph. P.S. I would always suggest taking the focus Legion Condor as soon as you send some dudes to Spain. That way you can send 8 or 9 volunteer divisions and 3 air units to China and get the real haul in terms of army and air exp.
i played germany last night and honestly, i found theres way too much to keep track of at the moment i was overloaded with so many new mechanics and large focus tree, mid 1940 i was struggling to keep up

Strong successor is useful for having 4 of the bonuses/buffs of the inner circle involved. in a recent game I replaced Mustache man with Himmler and it kept Himmler's bonuses while allowing me to have another inner circle choice

I would like to formally inquire why only Germany gets the Focus Tree bookmarks. Yeah it's the biggest Tree but there are others that are quite hefty that would also benefit from hyperlinks to move all around it.
As for replacing Hitler. It essentially lets you pick an additional reichlieter. As the one you chose to succeed Hitler still has all the bonuses he gained from the focus. Freeing up a slot for you to pick another. You could have bormann, speer, goebbels, and himmler with one of them being in charge.

The P1000 Landkreuzer has a Scharnhorst class battleship turret. Albeit with 2 barrels instead of 3 like the ship.
The central barrel was removed to make space for ammo and to stabilize the already gigantic tank
