I've seen it in other videos with GA at the Class C and B airports, the hold short lines at big airports are MUCH further back than what you are used to at smaller airports. Have to be able to clear big jets from hanging over the runway. ;) Always make sure you get past those before calling ground. You're absolutely right though. You should fly into the busier airports and the more you do it, the more comfortable you get and then you're not nervous about it. Have to conquer the things that hold you back in aviation, just do it safely. Enjoyed the video.
Thank you, as a controller, i hate seeing planes stop on the runway side of the hold short lines. You, as a pilot, have the right at any airport in the world to cross the hold short lines exiting the runway.
You’re a great ambassador to the GA flying community. Especially those of us who started later in life and are working towards a second career. You inspired me to finish my instrument training. Keep it up. Really enjoy the videos.
Great video Ted. I wish I knew you were coming into my town I would have shook your hand. Any time you are down this way I'd love to be your safety officer, just shoot me an email. I hope to see you at Sun N' Fun this year! Keep them coming Ted!
Holly cow parking at SIGNATURE, Isn't that EXPENCIVE?? I've heard that the FUEL is priced ridiculously high. Good flight. I wasn't on FLIGHTRADAR2 today so wasn't lookin for yea, hehe.
"10 737s all waiting for me" ....... don't worry about it, many of us get paid by the MINUTE really ka-ching $$$ we LIKE waiting for you. "Everybody's watching me" ..... well yeah ... and we are all thinking THAT looks like FUN, fortunate DUDE in that magnificent Cardinal! Here are three observations. Approach gives you a runway asignment at 02:05 in your video Two Eight RIGHT and a lot of other information. You omit the runway in your read back, the issue here is not "gotcha; somebody made a mistake". There are parallel runways at KFLL 28L/28R, it helps everybody to have it crystal clear what runway was assigned and what runway somebody is making an "approach" to. Second item, I would stay on tower frequency until I was completely off the runway, and that means getting your entire airplane past the runway/taxiway lines painted on the surface. And the third item, you were told to hold short of Charlie. It looked like to me you turned off the center line of the runway but stopped short of the first taxiway parallel to the runway while you were still technically ON THE RUNWAY. That closest taxiway paralleling 28R is taxiway Bravo not Charlie. I am pretty sure, no actually I'm positive, Tower wants you down and OFF the runway. As far as ground operations being complicated, yes they are. Seriously, the hardest part of my job is getting to the left front seat of "my" Boeing 737, getting the jet off the jetway and to the departure runway. For me, that is by far that is the most complicated, hassle filled and threat rich environment in a day of flying. The second hardest part of the job is getting off the runway and to the arrival gate. The rest of it in between stuff is pretty easy most of the time. Do you know how you get experience? Yeah, you are right, get out and practice and DO IT. Well done!
Great video! Space I’ve been doing some work videoing while Ifly also I called a Aircast. Check out the channel and let me know what you think and keep the great videos coming from your channel
Nice job, Ted! Would have liked to hear you talk (and implement) wake turbulence techniques following a 737 landing on the same runway.

Thanks !!! and I am so glad I was able to help! Awesome!
Great job!
The busy airports can be more hectic once on the ground. I like to have the Taxi diagram printed out where I see all runways, hold short and taxiways.

Paul Burgess thanks Paul !!!
This must have been recorded on a Saturday or Sunday with all of the cruise ships going out!
Your radio skills are definitely improving!
You flew into fort Lauderdale airport and you did not stop by the day hello. LOL
I work in the Fort Lauderdale area

No pressure to stick the landing...just 10 crews watching you...
5:27 - Line up and wait. LOL! You haven't landed yet...
Great job.
We see Steve-O here all the time.
Yes, as a controller, this is the right procedure as soon as soon as you cross landing threshold.

Great video. Did signature charge you to pickup your friend?
No- it was a quick pick up - I did refuel though - that's probably why....
@@Over50andLearningToFly I have a sneaking suspicion Signature at FLL for 100LL is going to be a pretty penny.
@@steven2145 not that bad... ~4.78 Thanks for watching!
Seeing a lot of videos in Florida...guess you have relocated to FL from our Nations Capital?
Trying to!
First! (always wanted to say that...lol)
