7/31 UPDATE: it was revealed that the reason Alison’s father, Jeffrey Chao, was arrested was because Alison had told authorities that she had stayed in a location indicated to her as safe by her father and a family friend while she was missing. She might have been pressured to tell them while she was being questioned and evaluated for hours after her return. Jeffrey Chao is pleading not guilty and has a bail set to $500K.
damn I called this! I thought exactly no way she was missing on the street for two days without any shelter! Allison was pressured and folded. She should have been granted an attorney before being interrogated or at least be allowed to meet father before being quarantined and forego to her abuser that she was trying so hard to get away from. Fked up justice system.

@@Jojifanswhy do the courts automatically grant maternal rights to children over the father? After a certain age say, 7, the child should be heard on who they want to have granted custody to and why. Please show me where I can find this information of the mother saying to a reporter or the public, "Alison did not have a reason to run away." Please refer to the timestamp I should go to or the paragraph number. I will wait on your response. And if she did in fact say these specific words to the public and yet told the police everything, what's it to you? We don't have the right to force a mom to put on blast if her daughter might wish to run away (but is MISSING nonetheless) or if she was going to be evaluated in a mental facility for claims of parental alienation, etc. That is no one's business except for the minor and those who look after her. The dad is charged with stealing'concealing so if found guilty, then he is the one that set all of this into motion, so maybe the mom wanted to afford Alison a semblance of privacy so she wouldn't have her name splashed online saying "Likely Monterey Park Runaway but don't worry she's may be found safe, Alison Chao, was going to be evaluated for mental health purposes. Here is her picture. If we find her, please don't hesitate to hire her or accept her to your college, either way." I'd expect my mom to do the same.
@@annamaru7577 I'm neutral and keep an open mind. Maybe the father is brainwashing convincing Alison that the family and mother is real bad. So maybe she had no choice but to get custody. I feel that was her Mother’s attempt to hide Allison’s accusations, meaning if Allison has to go to mental health facility she can use that saying Allison isn’t in her right mind so people won’t believe Allison. Just my opinion.
Or maybe Alison was brainwashed and mother was shocked her daughter has been manipulated to go against her and wanted to get to the bottom of it with a psychological evaluation. She could have depression, anxiety, PTSD etc. It could also be because they can initiate reconciliation therapy. Maybe father has not been taking her to those sessions because he doesnt want Alison to reconcile with the mother?

I find it interesting that those who believe Alison was abused (though the court found the claims unsubstantiated) didnt question the father's decision to only do home schooling and she had no access to any therapy? A child who you believe was abused, but as a parent you're not going to take her for any therapy......
Thank you Justine for telling a clear story. We still don’t know what happened to Alison and her mother. But, I do believe any loving mother would never put her normal child to a mental facility. The fact, they don’t allow Alison speak to the public, is against human right. How could the public trust the authorities?
The fact Alison could have lied about her SA under the father's instructions and even disappears for a week planned by the father, even the video with cops has the father in the background tells me that she needs a psychological assessment on whats really going on at the very least in an environment free from the father's influence. Sometimes family therapy is needed and reconciliation therapy with the alienated parent. Its also likely she has depression or other issues like anxiety related to the family situation. There can be many reasons for the court to have agreed to this plan.

You are an amazing person. Thank you for bringing light to this sad story. I think the mom was trying to institutionalize Allison to cover up the the sexual abuse. Then she could tell everyone that the sexual abuse didn’t happen. No one would believe Allison. And the abuse would continue even worst, by drugging her and sedating her. I feel for Allison. I hope the dad gets a good attorney.
You have quite a vivid imagination! The daddy isnt going to get custody back anytime soon due to his illegal actions and likely will be deemed unworthy by the court. In a few years Alison will be an adult and she can decide what kind of relationship she would like with either parent.
I dont really care about the history between the parents... but the mom effed up when she decided to put her own daughter in a mental institution.... That is not how you "FIX" a relationship that is broken

They were following court orders. The only one who was forcefully preventing Alison from going was the father and lies he doesnt not have the keys and wanting to talk to the lawyer. At the media press conference when Alison was discovered, he had 2 lawyers, 1 was the criminal lawyer who is defending him now. Up to that point the police had not arrested him, so its suspicious he already had a defence lawyer.
For those of you saying you believe Annie, Why would Allison accuse her Grandfather also if she was just mad at her Mom?? Also did you see her Aunt Testify? In many states in the U.S. kids 13 and over are allowed to petition the court to decide for themselves which parent to want to live with even if it changes a previous custodial agreement. The father was already the parent with custodial rights, but it doesnt mean the other parent has no right to see their child but the father kept obstructing that relationship and interferrng in court orders and personnel.
The grandmother should get sole custody of alison while their parents settle their personal matters. All these complaints by Alison over the years were not taken seriously sounded weird….she is not a little girl anymore now, why the court didn’t honour her sayings?
It depends on the maturity and reasoning of the child not the age of the child though. She was already with the father who likely had custody of her and so the court has listened to her, but it doesnt mean she should not have any relationship with the other parent. The fact mother separated/divorced in March 2023 and just 1 month later an abuse report is made with father and Alison. Which seems too convenient. Why no abuse report in the past? This pattern often is seen in toxic child custody battles. Alison also refuses to cooperate with the police/court orders and then disappears for a week (likely planned by the father). All this is concerning on her maturity level and reliability in being trusted by the court. There maybe other stuff which could have diminished her voice to the court we wouldnt know.

Her and her father are not in hot water over these allegations and past arrests. There was already an informal hearing of sorts that took place over a 15 day period. This was looked into already. One can try to constantly get the same issue looked into until they get the answer they want or they can just say maybe I will allow my daughter to be evaluated for the parental alienation and coaching allegations that are being leveled against me and then if found to be not credible, Alison can pick and choose who she lives with. IF this case happens to actually be mostly about PTSD of a miliary man who doesn't take his meds (as Annie wrote), coaching in abuse claims (as Annie is alleging), and parental alienation (also as Annie is alleging) then this man has just set all the clocks WAY back for anyone trying to claim non-false abuse accusations and true missing persons reports, at the very least. Maybe mom just wanted mental health evaluation bc at one point, Alison said mom and grandpa sexually abused her. In which was discredited by the judge in court. If my dgtr accused me of such thing, I'd take that very seriously and would want a complete evaluations done of my dgtr to ensure her mental health is ok!!
That is because you know you did not do the abusing.. You said you believed Alison but then assumed she should get evaluation? Her gradnmom said she regreted she did not believe Alison when she was told about the abuse. It is hard to believe but also tough for a kid to speak out. If she did say it, we should take it as serious. After all these (not to be heard and believed, and protector was arrested), Alison may really got mental issues. .. the judge, police, mom and some people not believed her are ruining her life..

The way the Police treat a little girl like that is terrible
I lost trust on Alison 'mother when she started Alison did not have a reason to run away. I can hear Alison wants her voice to be heard.
Thank you Justine for telling a clear story. We still don’t know what happened to Alison and her mother. But, I do believe any loving mother would never put her normal child to a mental facility. The fact, they don’t allow Alison speak to the public, is against human right. How could the public trust the authorities?
Actually a loving mother might have her child 5150's if it was necessary. In hospital psychiatric care can be needed.
The fact Alison could have lied about her SA under the father's instructions and even disappears for a week planned by the father, even the video with cops has the father in the background tells me that she needs a psychological assessment on whats really going on at the very least in an environment free from the father's influence. They were following court orders. The only one who was forcefully preventing Alison from going was the father and lies he doesnt not have the keys and wanting to talk to the lawyer. @@thegoodthebadthecurious3358 Annie's lawyer just released a statement. Per the lawyer, as soon as mother filed for divorce within a month father and Alison filed an abuse report which a superior court found to be non-credible. But this meant mother had no contact with her for about a year due to the proceedings. Then father was not cooperating, in particularly allowing Alison to see a therapist (which often is court directed due to help reconcile with the alienated parent) and the fact Alison was home schooled, her world was the father. Its because of this and maybe other concerns which we dont know of, Mother gained full custody (not temporary) and also a mental care facility to work with a therapist to undo the father's alienation and brainwashing and also reconciliation with the alienated parent. All these complaints by Alison over the years were not taken seriously sounded weird….she is not a little girl anymore now, why the court didn’t honour her sayings?
It depends on the maturity and reasoning of the child not the age of the child though. Grandpa is a big shot real estate dude in the Bay Area and he probably is helping the mother as to also help himself… am sure he doesn’t like the SA aligations and wants Alison also in a mental institution to silence her forever, because who is going to believe her with a mental record….
The father arrested because he's lying and falesying police report on chao disappearance while his daughter did seen him at his house. But we do want to hear alison chat have to say. i don't believe her mom and her grandmother about this case since alison was abuse by them
He is trying to protect his daughter from the abusive mom. I trust Alison, a 15 years old smart and good girl.
@@chienchieny5029 the father should have tell the true to police and lencourage alison to talk to the pollice
@@chienchieny5029 Same. I believe Alison. FYI that other commenter is highly likely part of PR spam. "Alison is wanting to stay with the dad bc he's more lenient," and the part about being a tiger mom. I've already seen the exact same wording in comments on other videos. They've changed their message to the "messy divorce" one, now, to distract from the abuse aspects. I recommend not replying under their comment because with more response the spam comment will rise to the top.
@@chienchieny5029 The court has determined there was no credibility to the abuse allegation. After seeing the father's lies, he has lost more credibility.

All the allegations points towards the mom being a nut but until we get the full story, no one will really know. Not saying Alison is bipolar but she could be. I have dealt with a few people with very little signs of bipolar and I can tell you it's very draining. They will accuse you of being a devil or being abusive. It appears all the stuff they are accusing you of is all inside their heads. It is really draining. Sometimes you would rather they be full out crazy so you can send them away but since they are not, you have to deal with it.
Hope everything works out so she can get all the help she needs, whether it's her mental issue or abusive relatives.
Stupid system!!!
Was money involved in the courts decision
I don't know this family from a hole in the wall but I see that many people aren't willing to keep an open mind even though most others don't live in their house, either. The mom seemed to be presenting ideas of her feeling she thought possible PTSD from the Marines, possible child coaching, and possible parental alienation was what could be going on here and people are like nah. Why would we silence a woman and not hear her voice?
It’s not about the mom here let’s be clear on that… Alison fears her mom because of abuse and SA also including the grandfather, let that sink in . Regardless what the whole situation is Alison should be protected and as a 15 year old straight A student is very capable to talk to any judge and tell her story
@@mirellawentz4688 Let it sink in that you are saying the allegations of physical abuse against Annie and sexual abuse against her and Arthur are proven facts. What actual proof do you have, pray tell. They were fully investigated and as Annie said in her sworn statement were shown to be not credible. And parental alienation is looked upon as abuse, so no they weren't going to just let Alison choose to live with her dad if in the evaluation that *he refused to open the door to let her take* found evidence of parental alienation.
@@mirellawentz4688 When you are the mom and you're saying you didn't do the heinous acts you are accused of, it is also 100% about you, the mom. If someone accuses you of something egregious you claim you didn't do, would you not like a voice and instead you want to have people say, "Shush! This isn't about you! We don't need to hear a peep out of you! This is about someone else!" I'd be shocked and my world would be rocked. Would yours?
Oh and you are mistaking allegations as proof of guilt. They've looked into this thoroughly already in an informal court setting for 15 days. The mom said in sworn testimony that the accusations against her were found to be not credible. You saying that she did anything illegal as if it were proven to be a fact is indeed FALSE. The dad could've opened the door to have her taken for an eval for parental alienation and coaching (the allegations being leveled against him) but he said no I'm not going to let her go get evaluated for that. Even though if they found that parental alienation (abuse) and coaching wasn't what he was doing, Alison could've simply chosen to live with him. The mental health worker the dad chose was the one who suggested Alison get evaluated and where. This stuff writes itself.
@@rowingnowWhereurbreadsbuttered the mom lied from the very beginning on tv , and omitted to say she got custody just so she could put her 15 year old daughter in a mental institution… omission is the same as lying 🤥 if she lied about that , then there is no doubt in my mind that she also possibly could have lied under oath…. So until Alisa has been heard and we hear 👂 that her mom cannot control her mental state I believe we might get a good idea of the truth. Plenty of mother’s who have lied and not protected their child from abuse and especially SA. We only have to look at a 13 year old girl that recently was found dead and it turns out she’d been sexually abused for many years.
I really don’t trust the mom or the father … I know people favor the father but they both give me the impression that their using Allison in their own ways

Is the father still in Jail?
I have reservations about her father. What he did by staging her disappearance is disturbing , he looks like he has an aggressive personality and has taken Alison as hostage to get his way. Is not easy for a Mom to have your daughter institutionalized unless the court says so. You say you’re not taking sides, but you’re taking his side. His family doesn’t look too sane at all. Remember they’re his family a they’ll say and do anything they believe will help them help Jeffrey. I analyze his family as troubled some and they have brain washed Alison.
Two crazy parent
Thank you for sharing the mother's story. I believe her.
My opinion is the court and/or mother wanted the child psychologically evaluated due to the false accusations and have mental health professionals verify the child is a victim of parental alienation.
I think the mother wants to alienate her daughter from the father by putting her in a mental institution… and hopefully the truth will come out, and Alison will be heard. She doesn’t fear her mom for the fun of it , they obviously have a very strained relationship because of previous abuse and SA charges that were filed. They can’t just sweep that under the rug. Also the maternal gma seems very sincere
@@mirellawentz4688 Alison is already with the father, he isnt the alienated parent here. But his actions raise red flags for him being the alienating parent.
@@Cruiser-j9d How about we all listen to what Alison has to say about all of this. Maybe the mother was alienating herself , cause Alison DOES NOT TRUST HER AND DOES NOT FEEL SAFE AROUND HER. if someone is doing something to you -that you don't like- would you stay around that person or completely avoid them?
@@TruthHurtsAJP In toxic child custody battles its not unusual to see brainwashing and manipulation by 1 of the parent against the other. Where was the abuse and "something doing to you" allegation before? It suspiciously showed up within a month mother files for divorce.
@@Cruiser-j9d the mother filed for full custody and was somehow awarded this while the past whole year she lived with her father because of previously abuse and SA abuse of the mother and allegedly the grandfather. The mother told Alisa that she would kill her and her dad if she speaks of the SA. The mother should respect her daughter and let her live where she wants, she’s 15. The sexual abuse had been going on since she was 7 allegedly

Let Allison speak AFTER she get some therapy & away from the dad… just in case the dad is very good at manipulating her
Yes the mom look cold at the video, but if you are Asian, you know how most Asian parents are… but they love their kids to dead 😅
?????
I think there's a lot more to this story than being led on right now. I believe it's a messy divorce and in a way, Alison is wanting to stay with the dad bc he's more lenient. I wish i waited b4 donating to their GFM.
But, i believe Alison when she said mom abused her. My thoughts?? Maybe mom is a strict tiger mom and spanked her... and in Alison's mind, that's abuse.
They need counseling, not putting Alison in a mental institution.
And maybe mom is an abuser!!!!!
