I went to Bangla Sahib. I am a muslim and I have also visited Dargahs. I could not help saying that people in Dargahs should learn from them - management, self sufficiency so that people do not roam with begging bowels. Also, volunteers at Bangla Sahib do not even charge to keep shoes protected. And in terms of cleanliness, I have no words to say on how they maintain. Everything is so sophisticated. This only happens when people stops doing business in the name of religion. I am so proud of them. ❤
The head chef is so appreciative of all the modern kitchen instruments so much. It is because he is the one who has seen the transformation from manual to automatic. But the next generation will not be like this and will take all the equipments for granted.
Well earlier volunteers would do everything by hand to do selfless service (seva) but it wasn’t possible during covid so they mechanised. It’s very recent.
While sometimes it can be easy to focus on humanity's capacity for being horrible to each other, it's important to remember how many people have a capacity for love and how we take care of each other. I wish our brains weren't so wired to see the negative so lovely people like these could be heralded for the work they do. I know in my town, we have so many soup kitchens and resources for those who have nothing. I work with a ministry that helps homeless people providing them temporary assistance and education to help them break the mindset of poverty and show them that there are ways to work out of their situation.
So if the operating costs of this place are 4,000,000 a year, and they feed 40,000 people a day, thats .27 a meal for truly nutritious and dignified food. That is truly remarkable. I challenge amy western charitable organization to reach this level of efficiency. Thry have proved that no one in this world should have to go hungry.
Western "charities" would look at the operating costs and balk at it, Western "charities" only do things if they can profit from it even if they claim to be "non-profit" especially with grifter organisations
I think a very big part of that is that the labour is free. You need a truly huge team to provide food for so many people, which in itself is quite costly. Gurudwaras can manage this much because thousands of people volunteer.

@sregginfuk that’s just obviously false ! We Sikhs always keep our hair cleaned , Nails cut and always maintain hygiene while creating langar! You guys are just here to spread hate . Shame on you .
Guru Nanak Dev was originally from a family of traders, but he was more in spirituality since childhood. Once his father gave 40 Rupees to make a good (business)deal out of it. He saw some hungry sages and fed them with that money. According to him, no better deal can be made other than that. Though Langar is a pre Sikh tradition, but Sikh community have taken it very seriously and it is now integral part of Sikh faith.
The literal meaning of the word "Sikh" means a disciple or a student and the word "Sikhna" means to learn which I find really fascinating. The whole ethos of Sikhism is to always be learning and to be able to help others.

i think this is exactly how industrially produced food should be, selflessly made, extremely cheap (or even free in some cases such as this) and totally wholesome! of course i am not saying there shouldn't be any fresh food but these kinds of documentaries really go to show how easily you can make absolutely massive quantities of food for a very cheap price.
It's not cheap it's free coz we indians donate money
Its Not Cheap its Absolute Zero Price a free service which western nations never can adopt due to capitalistic mindset which is not sustainable for our Planet.....
There are gov run kitchens in India that do incredibly cheap food, this however is free.
Massive amounts of food isn't the same thing as a nutritionally complete meal

This is just so overwhelming to see. I am overwhelmed with good emotions. What a great community
This is humanity at its finest. They are preparing food and serving people with their hearts. Not to benefit themselves. 🙏❤️
Sikhs are some of the most generous folks out there. They'll feed literally anyone, Sikh or not.
I remember after the Bataclan massacre, it was the local gurdwara that opened its doors to the whole community of frightened people who needed human contact & a place to feel safe

Majority of Sikh temples are still manual, this temple in particular is the most technologically advanced in terms of kitchen supplies.
Thanks for this video. Best part is any one irrespective of religion , caste or creed. Every one is treated equal in Gurudwara.. pride of india 🇮🇳
The sikhs are truly awesome people, truly giving and not to mention some of the best chefs ive met.
I used to eat at a restaurant run by Sikhs. The food was wonderful. Unfortunately, that restaurant has closed.
Can't possibly say too many good things about the Sikh community. Lovely, generous, kind people.
@yuvrajganguly Hey, want some FREE food? All you have to do is spend a few minutes to help prepare or cook it WITH us, in our state of the art kitchen. Or, no worries... Please eat... real rascals. 😆

i went to manikaran. such a great place. did you visit hot spring spot. where hot water come up on earth.
One of the things about Sikhism I love the most.. ❤ Everyone cooks and everyone eats.
cooking is one of sewa rest the main objective is self less service for common good or public which is coming to gurudwara or local community and gurdwara is just a common place or local community place for doing it and can be in many form from cleaning floor, cleaning shoes of people coming to gurudwara, serving water, serving food, preparing food, cutting vegetables, gathering firewood, providing raw material for food, etc.
Major Hindu temples in the south do this too. North India has no major historical temples left but new temples are reviving the process.

I'm glad to see that this kitchen is not only still running but has gotten a serious upgrade too.
This kitchen have been running since 1664 in this sikh temple known as bangla sahib gurudwara(temple)
But this selfless service aka langar seva to feed people free of cost started in sikh religion in 1481 by the founder of sikhism guru nanak dev ji soo throughout the world if you get a chance to visit any sikh temple they will surely love to feed you food free of cost.😊🙏

And btw are u talking about karbala where arabs commited a massacre?
@RealPolitik yes, the episode of Karbala was not just a massacre of the family of Holy Prophet of Islam but it was a well planned state terrorist act by Arab rulers who wanted to silence the voice of IMAMI HUSSAIN (the grand son of Prophet Muhammad). Yes, it was Yazeed Son of MOAWIA who ordered the Decapitation of IMAMI HUSSAIN and HIS FAMILY......
