@@AKrebel47there are better religions, why would our gurus teach and preach this is if it wasn’t the best in their opinion, also if suffering is bad, all beings are equal, but not the same some beings are better than others, same with religions, some teachers are better than others some schools are better than others, some scriptures have more of the truth in them, some teachers teach wrong things etc

Much love and respect to the Sikh community. All religions should take a leaf out their book. Islam has no place in this modern way of life.

i think you need to detail out more on why we keep hair. its a technology, enhances your senses and their alive. intelligent people may not buy the idea only to stand out.

+khushwant virdi many religions had this /law/ to keep hair, but other civilisations smashed it :/

+khushwant virdi Hair is like an Antenna that helps us connect to God, without it we would still be able to connect but it would be much more difficult.

i do not know where is it in sikhi book but i know keeping hair is not as bad, i just start to let my hairs grow up!
btw, hands, legs are a port of ur body like hairs, so can u cut a hand or a feet, u dont need it to connection to god. and dont remember to pull out ur teeth too :)

    • @amansingh-ls1cj
      @amansingh-ls1cj 8 років тому +2

+The Turbanator That's is just a self made explanation . There is no such explanation of antenna anywhere. Keeping long hair has been always part of spiritual people and in Sikhism, it has become a part of physical appearance of Sikhs since gurus kept them . We don't need to give justifications and explanations to people ( Sikh or Non-Sikhs) . Just keep them without questioning if you want to be Sikhs as it is part of Sikh dressing code and it help us become real students or Sikhs of Guru's by following their orders to ultimately become saints in this materialistic world .

The aim of a Sikh is to become spiritually, 'One' with the 'Creator', when the light/soul of a human merges with the source, God. For example, just like a raindrop merges with the ocean. The human body is temporary, our souls/light is permanent. This is our 'Heaven' to become 'One' with God through 'Love' via meditation on the Naam/Name of God.
Also, Sikhs do not believe in a 'Satan'/Devil, we believe that God/Vahiguru is unrivalled. No-one is a rival to Almighty God. The only 'satan' is within us, we are responsible for our own actions, through blessings we can conquer the such vices of 'lust', 'anger, 'attachment', 'greed' and 'ego'. Hence why the materialistic 72 virgins etc with respect are not believed in Sikhi, as our aim, through love is to become 'One' with The Lord/Vahiguru.

    • @gwk8009

      Hi Vishal,
The differentiating factor exists in the sense of ritualistic practices of Hinduism as well as casteism and in Buddhism the rejection of family life.
The gurus themselves rejected all this.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji born in an Hindu family rejected so many rituals and practices and divisive philosophies .
So in essence Bhai Jagran mentioning it is okay.
The main words my ears hear is about chanting and experiencing God/Waheguru/Bhagwaan. So I hope you do get the blessings of the oneness's grace to meditate upon the oneness and experience the ultimate reality (Bhagwaan/Waheguru/God)
      🙏🏼
      Your Sikni sister

@@gwk8009 I understand that he is disassociating from hinduism due to caste system (included as its part due to manusmriti, but it was not originally the idea>
he disassociated from Buddhism due to its ascetic aspect.
But What I intended was plz dont introduce sikhism as a higher or better idea but an alternative one n let the crowd decide it using free will. If u keep telling how sikhism is better by highlighting weak aspects of hinduism, which were developed over period of time, although wasnt originally intended, then it is only like SELLING your product.
      NOTE>> I consider sikhism as
a beautiful religion addressing casteism, being developed over period of time although not an original idea.
Also NOTE>>> that I and the world know how punjab, a land of sikhs, has become UDTA punjab and how sardars show off their drinking appetite hence departing from the original sikhi idea.
FINAL CONCLUSION>> What I am trying to say is every religion or idea, due to the effluxion of time, gets contaminated. But It does not mean that originally it was worse n new idea is better.
For eg. Atheism n secularism, when polarised, result into nihilism as witnessed in France.
