Symphonic metal vocal cover of "Raphael's Final Act" from the videogame Baldur's Gate 3, arranged and performed by Psamathes.
Everyone's favorite boss theme from one of the best games in many, many years! I wanted to do my own unique take on this song, as I did for Down by the River. This time I went for something heavier, with full on clean and harsh metal vocals, some operatic stuff, and a full one-woman choir that sings lines from the original Italian Divina Commedia! I chose some significant verses from the end of Inferno and made them fit metrically to the music. Let me know if you recognize the lines! They are about another "hellish" character, but let me take this poetic license for once 😉 What they say is still fitting for Raphael too!

    🎤 Lyrics:
    Lives, all mortal lives, expire
    Souls go to their dooms
    In flame, forevermore
Hell, Hell, Hell has its laws
Hell, Hell, effects and the cause
Curtain falls, but hold your applause
Squirm, squirm, for now down here come the claws
    Lives, all mortal lives, expire
    Souls go to their dooms
    In flame, forevermore
Fools, fools, how hard you have fought
Brave, brave, but it's all been for naught
True Souls that couldn't be bought
    Doomed, detected, and caught
    No more dеals, it's over
    The final act, your doom
    No more gracе, it's over
This House of Hope, your tomb

Yo you nailed those high notes in the intro. Haunting and beautiful.

The heavy metal part reminds me of Beef's scene in Phantom of the Paradise⚡

Why cut the last verse? 😢

What verse is that? I'm referencing the album version which is quite short so either I'm missing something vs the in-game version or I just made a mistake since the project was quite big!

"in flame for ever more" was missing.
Despite that it was a good, wild, surprising cover.

@@armurazor0 Ohhh I understand now! That's just a bit from the beginning of the song that I repeated for the video to make background music for the endcard section. The whole cover "officially" ends at around 2:33. Thank you again for the absolutely lovely words!

Too bad they didn't use "from now down here come come the clause"
