Both are equally viable! Socks are better for legato for slower lyrical pieces as well as playing multiple notes with each feet. Shoes help with fast scale passages where you have to constantly go between toe and heel super quickly!
Most of the really good organ players are at least in their 50s or 60s. I can't believe how young this guy is, already playing like a pro!! 👏👏👏
I love when this song is played with a very full organ sound such as this one!
Excellent! This is the best rendition I have found on YT so far.
Thank you! It’s simple and loud just the way I like it!
@@johnpauldaniele6777 Yes. I've found that people play it too fast or make it too complicated.
@@FrankJamger to true it feels rushed in other versions this is more normal sounding
Nice to know others appreciate the power of full organ!
Thank you for sharing the hymns of Praise with You Tube.
I like the sound when bass pedal was pushed... It feels rather creepy but so great to fill in my ears... 👍👍👍
I'M WITH YOU
JUST LOVE THE SOUND !
@@dickwhittenbarger4392 yes indeed
That's the only pedal I would ever press xD
Y una ... y otra... y otra más no me canso de oírlo. Música que me llena , gracias John Paul 👏👏👏👏
You certainly are a master of the organ. Your pedalling, and everything
was spot on. Well done.
Love this Christmas Hymn

Do you usually wear organ shoes when you play, or do you play in socks?
Very good playing
Beautiful
Great!
Is the organist Julliard trained? Excellent talent!! What brand and model of organ is it?
No I was only in 9th Grade at the time and it was self taught. It is a Casavant!

Actually I think I might be wrong about this. It looks similar but the background isn't right.
@@splsystems It is in fact St. Bernard Church

Do you usually wear organ shoes when you play, or do you play in socks?
Organists get very special shoes to make it easier to play pedals. They are kind of like high-heels.
Both are equally viable! Socks are better for legato for slower lyrical pieces as well as playing multiple notes with each feet. Shoes help with fast scale passages where you have to constantly go between toe and heel super quickly!
