What a lovely comment. I will show this to my young children, both of whom have chosen to work hard at their musical abilities over wasting their time with any form of passive electronics. My 8yo daughter sings in many choirs and my 10yo son has performed at the Opera House 3 times. Together we perform at nursing homes at times. To hydrostatic3g: It's never too late to start learning to play an instrument. The man who is teaching me how to play a woodwind instrument I have wanted to learn for fifty years and I agree: if you want to age well, learn music. The benefits are enormous.
One of the best pieces of baroque music ever written, performed by a really good organist, on an instrument that leaves me in awe. Could not ask for a better version.

I wish I could play like that. The Pipe Organ is the most beautiful most natural instrument. No Digital processing here just pure air and pipes, plus of course a very talented keyboard artists. Absolutely superb!

Tom Burcher I almost did. But my ears were sensitive so I switched to piano at three months, stuck with it until my auditory sensitivity diminished. Then I switched back to organ. Actually, my ears ARE sensitive so I really did have to bypass organ lessons until I got more used to the volume. Unfortunately I was 20 before my sensitive ears got used to the volume of the organ. Fifteen years of "only" the piano because my ears split every time I heard an organ. I love all organs so much I have a nickname for them: *Forrester* I am celebrating my THIRTIETH YEAR as an enthusiastic amateur organist. I have loved the organ since I was 20. When my auditory sensitivity diminished. It's not gone totally, but I turn my hearing aids off until the processional hymn is underway. After the first measure I turn my hearing aids back on. But for the first twenty years of my life turning off my hearing aids was not enough; my ears hurt anyway. But to make a long story short, I would have been enthusiastic about the organ sooner, at least a decade sooner, if my ears had not been quite so sensitive. *I like having sensitive FEELINGS but not sensitive EARS* I wish I could have handled hearing organ music at a younger age. Piano, meh. The organ, aka Forrester, is soooooooooooo much more resonant and mellifluous! #PipeOrgan #Forrester #KingOfInstruments

Ce qui est incroyable, dans cette transcription pour orgue d'une oeuvre bien connue de Haendel, telle que l'interprète (brillamment) Gert van Hoef, c'est que, dans mon imaginaire, j'en arrive à croire que la vraie version, voulue par le compositeur, c'est précisément cette version donnée à l'orgue !... On pourrait l'écouter en boucle, indéfiniment, comme un "mouvement perpétuel"...

It is a pleasure to hear this performance. I start playing this great instrument but I stopped it, until 20 years ago. If I ever marry I would like to hear this great piece for my move in to the church! Excuse my bad english!
Dear Gert, I love listening to your work. This piece was our wedding music over 35 years ago- our organist at the time did a very good job..

I just got married and walked down the aisle to this beautiful song. It is a very hard song to play on the organ but my organist did a phenomenal job!!!

@@leonjay9 lol I see. I couldn't help it, so many people call every peace of music a "song" nowadays...Every now and then I feel I have to remind them that even if they don't know the exact genre, there's still other, more general terms they could use when talking about music.
