Great video! Two things worth noting: VS2 EX scythe gets you 100 V-Gauge on hit, while all meterless VS2 scythes get you 70 on hit. 100 V-Gauge is pretty nice, that's a third of a bar. Turns any anti air ex scythe into free V-Gauge. Since VS2 MK scythe has two hits, you can easily hit confirm it raw as a poke into either VT or CA. Makes Nash a huge neutral threat when he has VS2 and either VT or CA stocked.
I really wish they allowed juggles with VS2 into light and ex tragedy assault. Tragedy is such a unique special in the game, but it's less frequently used in favor of more damage or Oki from scythe combo enders. It would be nice if Capcom leaned into this special more to make Nash standout from the cast
Very well done video, man. I kind of like how some of the new v-skills make you decide whether to buff or keep up pressure. It makes things more interesting with more decisions. That's one reason I would always like watching G players. Watching when they decide to go for the presidentiality buff vs. when they dash in and keep up pressure. SF5 needed more of that type of stuff I think. More options = more interesting.
I can tell you Guile is immensely better but I still won't drop my Nash. I've tried even but I realize I just need to keep grinding and get better if there's a will there's a way.
I don't think they compare. VS1 for zoners (fireballs) and VS2 for everybody else. I'm not using VS1 for Zangief outside of that one dizzy corner combo.
There's still offensive things about vs1. That being said I wanted to go over both v skills and compare them for the purpose of teaching players and showing clear differences and what strategies each promotes for the Nash player while still being digestible.
@@SonicSol Yeah I get that and you did a great job. I'm not saying they aren't practical but not too many of us that are left use VS1 like that even if maybe we should. Again, thorough as always with these breakdowns. I always learn something new and we all appreciate them.
Kinda lame you don't get to cancel the target combo into VS2 (In contrast to bullet combination), I'm sure having such a reliable way of triggering the install would be very useful
The best thing about playing Nash is that he is so rare these days that I'm pretty sure people don't even know what his frame data/traps are anymore. Might pick him up again. His VT2 has some really cool mix ups with the booms and VS2 has very good frame traps and L/R corner mix ups.
How do you get the ex scythe to juggle in the corner after the medium kick target combo connects using vskill 2. Any nash players got tips for the execution?
On another note, it may now be possible to activate VT1 3 times or VT2 2 times per round thanks to the 975 health buff if you end every combo with EX TA. This essentially gives Nash 1035 or 1065 HP.
Can someone tell me what he means by the kara cancel juggling after h scythe (to land ex)? I understand what a kara is and all, with sagats fbs and stuff. Just what do i do in this situation?
So you're saying tie those scythe to EX meter? You lose the HK scythe buff by doing that and limit the use of EX sonic boom. To add they buffed VT1 so that it can no longer get grabbed out of its recovery frames or hit as a standing cross up, EX scythe no longer trades for anti airs and characters were adjusted to prevent throw os with their lights across the board so his v reversal which is a dodge avoids that problem now. I think Nash got better. He just won't be top tier
@@nickadt get the knockdown then do it safely. You're not getting too meaningful Oki off of things like mk scythe anyway And other characters with similar vskills have to do the same like urien and g
@@SonicSol The difference with Urien and G is that they are tournament viable. They already have everything they need to win even without their VSkills. Nash, however, is trash. He needed a lot more than this to make a comeback.
@@nickadt speaking as someone who plays both G and Nash in tournaments, G DEFINITELY lacks defensive options. It is honestly his v trigger and good buffers/damage output in neutral that makes him viable. Nash can't have it all. You have to do work as a player too. I do believe with this patch Nash has definitely gotten stronger and with the fix to his VT1 to be consistent against throw game, it's up to your defense as a player, same as G. He isn't going to break into upper mid. Nash is going to remain solid mid as he is now at max performance. I've grown tired of the constant assertion that Nash needs things like an invuln reversal. As for a dodge or parry, Nash has 2 dodges that have been buffed again this season. Start using them.
Thx for making the content man, I'm just considering getting back to some Nash . I would like to hear your thoughts on how he'd work out as a secondary, or maybe as a general topic for video "how to find a secondary " .. I main Abigail btw :)
Nash has really well designed V-Skills, they both have significant merit depending on the match up, that's how they ALL should be, so let's see how the others compare.
I suppose it depends on your play style 🤔 For me personally, I'd use both but for scenarios. For example if I'm going against someone without projectiles I'll use Vs2 with V-Trigger 1 👌
Speaking for myself and myself only, I do not see the value in VS2. VS1 is an underated mid-range poke and can be incorporated into combos as well as frame traps. If the point of a VSkill is to gain V meter than you can gain V meter faster with VS1 even in non fireball matchups. On top of that, it has even more utility in CE as meaty--which allows you to gain even more V meter. Again, this is speaking for myself.
Yo these sick looking combos is why I picked nash. I cant do half of this shit that you doing 🤣 the best thing I've ever did was ex tragedy into v trigger fierce kick in air into m scythe into CA which isnt all that impressive lol
You're supposed to do it after you score a knockdown. You have to sacrifice Okizeme. You can't do it raw in neutral. 53f is akin to 1 real life second. That's a long time.
@@srseki well uriens is only faster by 3f, being 50f and G's is actually 60 total frames, it's just that G can cancel from his specials into his V-Skill. Logically btw G needs to cancel into VS2 as the buffs are purely defensive.
Why would you use vs2? You pose like and idiot to boost scythe but the boosts are underwhelming. HK vs2 scythe is supposedly invincible to air attacks yet it constantly either trades or loses to the attacks you'd really like it to anti air. MK vs2 scythe is safe? Sonic Sol clearly puts a ton of work into these vids, show him some love at www.twitch.tv/sonic_sol when he goes live!
I appreciate all the kind comments. I'm glad I can help people with this information. I plan to do another character next. She's my favorite :)
NOOICE!

Where's the LTG video where you impersonate him lol
Thanks for the hard work
SonicSol I sent you a friend request by the way lol your advice has helped my Nash
VS1: more balance between offense and defense, good for zoners with fireball. VS2: full offense, go nuts with the combos. Both are solid imo.

That's why I noted the two things in the video.
The v-meter gain and the utility of MK Scythe
@@SonicSol For sure! I ain't trying to knock your video, just wanted to give the exact V-Gauge values. You did a great job!

V-skill 2 looked like a dumb update at first glance, but in the end had a lot of deep.

Change it ill delete
Definitely want to see more videos like this!

Good job on the breakdown bro. Nash is a lot of fun now. Happy Holidays 👍🏾

Really loving this new trigger that basically makes nash very offensive , plus the possible mix ups ? This new v skill is amazing.
What an excellent vid! THX!!
You have to pose for 53 long frames, when's a good time to use it?
I really don't like a lot these install v skills. Unless the character is a zoner I don't see why I want to sacrifice my neutral advantage for it.
How do you kara cancel heavy scythe?
Nash is fun this season. Is there a Kara cancel video coming?
Hmm. I'll ask Vesper
Yessss
I came here to ask this too
Can someone tell me what he means by the kara cancel juggling after h scythe (to land ex)?

Wait a sec... Is this the Deck Edit theme from YGO Tag Force 4?!
Is the crouch jab mix up after buff H scythe character specific? I tried it on Ken but the jab never hit.
After watching this, I almost feel playing Nash. I said almost ;)
Awesome vid
So what song is this?
Can sonic sol do a set up vid for nash season 5
very good stuff my g
what track is that
same thing I was wondering
Thanks Vesper, now i demands a Kakyoin mod for him on the PC.
mod a stand appear next to him whenever he pose the vs2 XD
His VS2 should have been LK-MK, MK-HK, LK-HK EX commands. He needs a defensive parry or dodge VS to get him out of bottom tier.
So you're saying tie those scythe to EX meter? You lose the HK scythe buff by doing that and limit the use of EX sonic boom.
