@naradabourne7 I liked Atlantis aswell, but SGU is totally different from all the other star-gate series to me its very much like Battle star galactica in the way its filmed and its stores. its not the dial up a planet every week and go have an adventure. I didn't know if I would like it at first because not much happened in the first season but I gave it a chance and it has grown on me.
yep...this was SyFy channel's attempt to capture both Stargate & Battle Star audiences but they didn't understand those audiences did not overlap ...there was only a smaller subset of people that would like a blended script ....the soap opera of BS and the SciCom of Stargate didn't mix...it became a soap opera with Stargate references...recipe for failure
SGU is what Star Trek Voyager failed to be: an isolated crew stranded in a dark and ominous universe with limited resources and occasional threatening encounters with incomprehensible aliens.
why the hell did these idiots jump thru the gate ? all they had to do was walk thru like normal ...there is no reason to jump like this ...why were they throwing the cases like they were trying to throw them across the galaxy ? ...makes no sense....
@@xadam2dudex (except for the last guy) They did not "jumped" into the stargate. This is NOT a mistake: The "longer" a connection through a wormhole is (lightyears of normal space), the more energy is required to mantain the "inside" of it stable & secure. This "jump" was across the universe (Billons of lightyears, not mere "millons" between galaxies), so small imperfections through the connection accumulated. Because the "powersource" of the outgoing stargate was "overloading" it (eventually exploding), everything was getting "supercharged", ending up on the receiving stargate [Destiny Ship] with an excess of energy that was "translated" as aditional kinetic movement -> In the previous series, whenever a Stargate conection is "underpowered" (barely enough), the lacking of energy is translated as "cold" [the clothes & skin getting frozen], simply because there is a minimum "exit" speed from the event horizon of a Stargate.
Binge watched the entire 2 years just recently !
Has it really been 12 years ??? 😳
Yeah, I vividly remember that night in october 2009 when I was impatient to watch this.
Wow, chuck a mattress through first lol

makes no sense where are they coming from, so many, some had no experience going through a SG, kind of some evacuation/escape
