For automated landing, when you see the whiteish lines around the landing pad, when you are midway down to the pad hold N and the ship will land safely for you (most of the time).

    Mustang vs Aurora Starter Packages:
*The Mustang does have planned cargo capacity in an underslung cargo box. Currently it is not rigged/working for first person interaction - Therefore when buying the Mustang you will (temporarily) be loaned an Aurora so you can complete box delivery missions.
*Both Aurora & Mustang can be loaded with cargo using trading terminals at ports & outposts.
*The Mustang costs the same as the Aurora but is worth $5 more when upgrading to other ships with real money.
*The Mustang is a bit racier than the Aurora. The Aurora is a bit tankier than the Mustang & has a bed for log-out.

@@THExXxCOBRA Patch 3.7 is currently in the public test universe (PTU) phase before getting released to the official Live servers (PU). When it does, your landing experience will be much improved I think due to the fact that they've somewhat rolled back hover mode and how the landing cycle works. Landing should be a lot smoother and less floaty and uncontrolled.

The p.i. mission is a must do mission, and so glad to hear the ICC Assistance missions with Tessa will be returning(removed at 3.0) once they get missions that properly utilize the character mostly science and exploring, those missions had emotions with them also the voice acting was spot on and it felt like you were doing something worth while. Would be great if they can work some bounty hunter missions that utilize voice actors like the pi mission to give a sense of purpose of hunting your target down.

Nothing against the vid creator just wanted to throw this out there: 7 year of development so far isn't as long as people think. It's def a long time but it's not the first. Darkfall Online and even Team Fortress 2 came out 7-8 years after initial announcement. Let's not even talk about Duke Nukem Forever (15 years).
On topic though: Hell yeah! I came initially from NMS as well. Back in elementary I always had a dream game that would now be easy to describe as some exist. My dream game was basically a Planet Side like game (full scale war) but with full ground to orbit then to surface of moon style combat. Kinda similar to Battlefront 2 when you could fly and board the huge capital (?) ships. Then NMS came out with it's massive planets and worlds with 0 loading between surface and space. It was...mind blowing. I was one of the few people who bought and enjoyed NMS on release. It didn't have everything it does now but for why I wanted to play it, it had almost everything.
Then Star Citizen. I bit the bullet earlier this year as I never really had the luxury to buy games like I do now. I was honestly thinking I'd have to go for an upgrade so soon to my PC to even run it slightly (never build around developing games FYI). But wow, I was surprised just how good it runs. And it'll only get better. Compared to how it seemed to have been running last year it's improved A TON.

totaly agree. most games people play show their faces like a year before release giving peeps the feeling games are being made real fast. but most games take around 7 to 12 years to make and they dont even get close to the scale starcitizen is getting at.

Your enthusiasm is contagious, welcome aboard. subbed just to see and hear your joy at the game.
    A couple of pointers:
Use T to toggle your lights, can make dark-sided moon landings a little easier.
Use Z whilst in the cockpit to look around so you can pick out a flat landing area free of rocks/obstacles.
Your shields start as critical each time you power up your ship, nothing to worry about.
When you land, I suggest only powering down your engines and leaving your power (shields) on, just in case some grieffer decides to get an easy kill - unless you're deliberately trying to hide in shadows and want minimal heat and electromagnetic (EM) signatures (makes scanning and locking onto your ship more difficult.)
Small ships will overheat on long journeys. You can manually adjust the drive's power to reduce its output and take longer to get where you're going.
When you're in quantum and everything gets shaky just before you drop out of jump, you're being interdicted by another ship. I'm currently in 3.7 on the PTU which introduces the first player ship with interdiction.
Your crime status is in the top right corner, the head portrait with a cross-hair on it. The red quadrants represent your level, 1 through 4.
Next to your crime status you will sometimes see a bullet with a cross through it. This indicates you're in an armistice zone and all weapons, ship and personal, are disabled. The ship freaking you out when you where trying to make your delivery couldn't have fired on you. :)
Regardless, you'll find things your own way and I hope you continue to have this much fun every time you jump in. And most (not all, but most) of us are always willing to help out the new guys.
P.s.: Your crime stat will (very slowly) reduce to nothing. If you can't wait, you can go to the moon of Cellin, near Port Olisar, and head to Security Outpost Kareah. There you can hack a terminal to wipe your criminal record. I suggest doing it when the mission is available to take out the pirates that have moved in (I think you have to kill 7 of them in FPS combat.)
P.p.s.: Most legitimate landing pads will have refuel, rearm, and repair facilities. Land normally, I think it has to be somewhere that has ATC where you have to request landing permission now, not sure. You can then hit F1 to open your mGlas and navigate to the ship refuel etc. tab.
    Fly safe o7

I laughed a lot too. This was an example of why they needed to get rid of hover mode. It is non-intuitive and unrealistic for a spaceship that has gimbaled thrusters and gravity generators to fly like a single rotor helicopter from 930 years in the past. I flew just like this except with a Cutlass Black that did not survive nearly so well from such antics. It blew up more often than not for me just applying vertical thrust. I guess I should have started with the Aurora since it seems more durable.

Shields take a little time to charge fully initially. Just for your info, interdiction is more often done by security forces wanting to scan your ship for contraband. Those security ship triangles would be green. It’s usually best to sit tight and let them scan you. Red triangles represent bad guys, or players with crime stats (who are not necessarily pirates).

21:12 The red in the speedometer only means at that speed you cannot turn effectively and you will drift, no problem if you just go straight. The overheating only comes from using the afterburner a lot(pressing shift) or in long distance quantum jumps, but all you have to do is let the engines cool in this case. The only bad that can happen is if you fly low to the ground an then engines overheat, you might crush case they will turn of for like 3-4 seconds. It's basically put there so people don't use afterburner all the time.

    • @bogdanmihaicazacu
      @bogdanmihaicazacu 5 років тому +1

Also pro tip: bottom panel on the left side HEAT, EM(electromagnetic signature) and IR(infrared signature). Each ship has a different range on the heat level, but if you learn your ship's low and high, you can avoid overheating altogether. For example my ship MISC Freelancer has a low of 275 and a high of 320, so I can push the afterburner safely up until around 318, then I have to let it cool back. There are other tips, but that's enough for starters. :))

They also need encouragement. People focus to much on negativity. And speaking from experience, that brings people down in stead of lifting them up. If you chase them away we will be left with the real threat to gaming. The very thing people claim CIG does the AAA publishers actually do and no one EVER calls them out on their bullshit. They release half way finished games disguised as finished games and SELL you the rest. No days ALL games are being backed. Even ones that claim to be done. No MAns Sky, Elite Dangerous, GTA5 ALL of them finish after being released. So in a sense we as customer are backing games unknowingly. So lets start applying pressure to the real thieves who for some reason get away with their shit year after year.

As far as CIG. Ive sat on the side line with many others before... quiet and watching set backs after setback. Ive understood some setbacks yet scratched my head at others on how tons of smart well funded people are allowing dumb things to slip thru. Ive promoted the game, donated alot, made excuses for general mishaps and condemned for the WTF moments. It boils down too and i hate to say it Chris Roberts. Brilliant mind and visionary, poor managerial skills, great at surrounding himself with the right crew, poor at letting them do what they do best. Now that he seems to be more out of the picture. It appears that SC has released more content than ever before. Id love for chrises vision to come true. But its no longer his. Its yours... its mine. A ship with a bigger quantum drive will be way, WAY faster. But as a new player... all you see is that it takes forever to get across the system, not knowing there are faster options later in the game. That's an issue imo. Anyway. In case you don't know, that drift you experienced when trying to land on Yela (and the craziness on Lyria) was part of the "hover mode" mechanic which was tried, and then axed because it wasn't working properly. Your ship won't go crazy like that anymore, so you should find landing a lot easier now. Apparently the next release should have an improved version which is much more forgiving.

Love seeing new players get in to the verse for the first time with an unbiased, open mind and seeing their reaction of just being BLOWN AWAY from every little thing in as they go along. heck i've been playing for almost 2 years now and I'm still seeing things i've never noticed and still impressed by things i've already seen many times. As you stated, "you really have to play the game to believe". Also, the reason for your issues when landing is becuase you where using you mouse to control the ship when landing and not strafing while in vtol mode(I fly using dual sticks and throttle), which was added in version 3.6. vtol is being replaced in 3.7 (sadly) with something more keyboard and mouse friendly (because if you look at most videos that reviewed vtol when it was released all most ever citizen that hated it ware doing EXACTLY what you where doing). keep up the content, keep having fun and last of all WELCOME TO THE VERSE!

    • @wizz3r1o1
      @wizz3r1o1 5 років тому +1

@@CharlesVanexX When someone says they fly using dual sticks it means they are using 2 flight sticks controllers to input movement. Example, the right hand stick would be for pitch, yaw and role controls traditionally. While the left stick would be used to control strafing directions for up/down, left//right and forward/reverse. In short, yes it is a control option that requires 2 flight stick controllers to be mapped out in the control bindings menu. Though I should point out that you don't need flight sticks to strafe. You could use a xbox controller too. And by default there are key's bound for strafing by default to your keyboard. It's purely a control type preference, and each have there own pros and cons. I was just pointing in my previous comment that his issue with landing was due to the fact that he was trying to use the mouse to maneuver in vtol/hover mode and not strafing with the maneuvering thrusters. As well as how I've always noticed that it was almost always a keyboard user that would complain about the vtol/hover mode. its been removed for something else in 3.7 because of this.

Hey Im long time backer , following SC for a long time, but its pretty fun to see it again with a fresh pair of eyes. But dont burn too much of your energy with landings, they are being worked on right now, and in 1 or 2 weeks we should get version 3.7 of the modular releases and that should simplify landings if you do them assisted or whatever. So dont try too hard to learn landings now hehe.

Cobra, man it's great to have you in the 'verse. This is the first video I've seen from you, and your commentary is hilarious and made me LOL many times. Your reactions and noob behavior are priceless...whether it's your panic over the QT drive overheat, not knowing where to go, avoiding fights, not putting your gear down, and dealing with the horrific 3.6 flight model and 'Hover Mode', which is dead now in 3.7 (and good riddance). Hover Mode was terrible. I'm a veteran pilot in SC and yes, hover mode would wreak havoc with me too...and yes I would also end up landing upside down when trying to do simple maneuevers. Sorry that was your first flight model in SC but things are SO much better now (despite some bugs which need fixing in 3.7).
I loved seeing your reaction to the Constellation. I remember my first time seeing it in 'person' and wow it was impressive...especially the first time I saw it in the 'verse. There are even bigger ships out there too. Wait til you see the 890 Jump...and you must see the inside to truly appreciate how amazing it is.
Hilarious that you got a crimestat for messing with the cops (or not stopping) but I'm sure by now you know how to fix those.
Also, it was fun seeing your one ship....the humble Aurora, and your successful but ambitious delivery mission.
If you ever need help, just ask! I'm in SC under this name too. I tried E:D and NMS after starting in SC, but I just couldn't abide not having space legs, and I missed the realism of SC when playing NMS. So, I was coming from the other direction. As gameplay loops increase, you will leave all other games and focus more and more on SC. 3.7 is going to bring FPS mining and cave exploration. Curious how you got an LN for your starter package. They offer the MR as the starter not the LN. The LN is the top of the line aurora I think. And has missiles. If you get the Mustang starter, CIG gives you the Aurora as well so you can do the delivery missions. At least until they put the stor-all boxes in game. The aurora has a stor-all box as well. But they do not open. You can use the Cargo space for doing cargo runs, but none of that is animated or able to be opened and viewed. So since you cannot put your delivery boxes into the stor-all boxes yet, CIG gives you a complementary aurora to go with the mustang. If you want, you can melt "exchange" your aurora package, from your "hangar" on robertsspaceindustries.com, and get the mustang package. You will lose no money and will have 2 ships to play with for now.
Also RIGHT SHIFT locks your ship flat for landing. Then you strafe around until you land. Just do not touch your mouse after hitting right shift. Until 3.7 comes out in a couple more weeks and changes everything.

Good Video and yea on the space jump, warp drive is overheating, for that, you have to go into your power level and reduced the power to the engines to stay in warp drive but the other thing that is pain, the NPC can knock you out of warp, yet you really can't tell if it is the space police that knock you out for ship checking or was it pirates, so I did the same thing, open fire and try to get back in warp jump to keep going
