1. If you don’t know how to do a magic ring, go watch my most recent video tutorial where I explain it! ua-cam.com/video/d2zg2x_dH34/v-deo.html
2. The big maman octopus has a written pattern available here : www.etsy.com/ca/listing/853155529/crochet-patterns-olivia-paige-the?ref=shop_home_feat_4&pro=1
3. You can slow down the speed of the video by taping the 3 little dots (setting).
4. For round 3, you start with 12 stitches. Make 1 sc in the next stitch and make an increase (that’s 2 sc in the same stitch) in the following stitch. Repeat these instructions around (6 times in total) and you will end up with 18 stitches.
5. You can use a Bobby pin or a strand of contrasting yarn instead of the stitch marker.
Enjoy 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙💞
Is there a way to finger crochet them?
Hi thanks so much for this tutorial 😊. I was wondering if I could sell the octopus I crochet using your crochet pattern in a school sale? Do I have your permission to do so?
Je me demandais si je pouvais vendre la pieuvre que j'ai crochetée en utilisant votre modèle de crochet lors d'une vente scolaire ? Ai-je votre permission pour le faire ?
lost me at the magic ring
You can find many tutorials on UA-cam to learn how to make a magic ring :)
I hope you managed in the end x
Ok I’ve turned it to the slowest playback speed and I was able to figure it out!
You can watch my most recent video. I explain it. ua-cam.com/video/voc6PtZhms8/v-deo.html
Me being a beginner and not even knowing how to do a magic ring
For beginner it's best to learn the magic ring usually that's how you start with Amigurumis
Watch my most recent video tutorial where I explain it! ua-cam.com/video/d2zg2x_dH34/v-deo.html
Just go to setting and slow the video down I'm a beginner and when I watch these I have to do that 😂
@@yourfavoritgremlin yeah me too I had no idea half the time but I ended up making it
I've gotten better at it and once you learn how to do it, it becomes very easy it just takes some time :>
How dare you pull baby octopuses out of a big octopus, I audibly gasped, that was too cute to handle
I found it weird lol
LOL yeah I feel like I need to hide this video from my kids or they are gonna beg for it! And I’ll be making octopuses till the end of 2022 hahahha
ikk it was literally sooo cuteteee 😁😁
Isnt it a jelly fish tho
@@muzzyland5637 wait you’re right, but that would be odd 🤔
My bestfriend and I have an inside joke about her being a cute little octopus, so I’m making 21 of these for her 21st birthday in May, wish me luck!
That’s awesome!
good luck!!
If you don't mind me asking. How many have you made so far?
Good luck! ❤️
Haha I’m doing the same thing but with a dinosaur (haha don’t ask) I’m just doing a octopus becuase all I’ve been doing is making very ugly and small blankets haha
Im so sad that no matter how hard i follow every step it still doesn’t turn out like a circle now its not an octopus its a frikin strawberry🍓💀
oof. Are you just starting?
SAMEMEMEME J JUST MADE A WALE AND ITS HEAD LITTERLY LOOKS LIKE A TRIANGLE
Turn it into a strawberry octopus
LOL
Maybe try shaping it when you stuff? I've found my things look a little wonky when I stuff at first, but after some squishing around it tends to sit normally.
Can we talk about how beautiful her scissors are
RIGHTT??
i am obsessed with them😳
I just did a research how to get it, hihi
Yes we child 😌 there were GORGEOUS, MAGNIFICENT, BEAUTIFUL, MAGICAL, AND MOST OF ALL, BREATH TAKING.

Mine ended up with nine tentacles, but I don't care. I love my adorable mutant baby!
I ended up in 4 tentacles help
I ended up with 5 woops

Also me: tf is a magic ring
My mom has been crocheting for a long time and still can't make a magic circle but I learned how to in the first month of crocheting
@@puppymuncher8822 I guess it’s probably cos they stick to making items not rly toys? Second thing I’m learning to crochet is this, just got the hook 2 days ago
I started a week ago or sum- and i got it in the first try🧍♀️
Go check my latest video. I explain another way of starting. ua-cam.com/video/voc6PtZhms8/v-deo.html
@@nashshhh me too lol I just had to try again bc I used the wrong yarn several times
Omg, so cute! I didn’t see the “for people who already know how to crochet”, so I tried, but got real frustrated because I had only just started. I tried this about a week ago, but kept trying, great tutorial though!
i have declared it this is the best beginner octopus tutorial i couldnt find a tutorial that i could follow and i was able to finish it! tysm for this awesome tutorial. TO EZ thank you thank you THANKK YOUUUU. edit: YOU DESERVE WAY MORE SUBS YOU ARE SO UNDERATTED!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it :)
I have only just started crocheting recently and thought I would give this tutorial a go. It was so easy to follow and only took me just under an hour to make! Very pleased with my baby octopus!
Im newbie so im gonna try this 🥺 wish me luck its my First
Hiii I love the tutorial! Quick question, is there anyway to add eyes without the safety eye? Since using a safety eye requires buying it and well- 😅
@@AutumnFallsXO yes that happend to me, i cant buy it but u can make eyes with blck yarn or buttons
Me: has been crocheting for about 5-7 years
Also me: “Tf is a magic ring?”
I tried to make up a pattern up for being able to crochet for 5-7 minutes and my sister was like you can't do that you can't! lol
You copied another comment word for word lol
Nah cause you couldn't have been more creative?😨the comment you copied is right above yours💀💀
im watching this after a few drinks and ive decided when im sober im making so many of these. theyre the cutest things ever. the only thing stopping me from doing this rn is knowing what a disaster it will be. thank you for these adorable lil guys I cant wait to fill my house with them
lmao love this comment!
2 years later and you’re still getting people like me who are very appreciative of your video. I just made one of these little guys for my best friend who’s going through a hard time right now, and I hope she likes it when I see her. Thank you for the great video!!
Thank you! And courage to your friend!
I love how you just pull them out of the other octopus xD
ahahah
This is the cutest thing ever
Thank you!
Yesterday, I bought a crochet hook and yarn on a whim. With your video, I've already learned how to do a magic ring, increase stitch, decrease stitch, and I'm beginning to understand crochet pattern instructions. Tysm! This video is great for people who like to jump in
I hope everyone else is doing pretty good while making this! It’s been 20 minutes and I’m only on step 3 😭 It’s hard cuz I get frustrated very easily 😅 everyone else says it’s amazing and worth it so I’ll keep going 👍✨
Its been an hout im at magic ring still😘

me: what’s a magic ring 💀
She is not really helping me I had to look it up 😩
yeah, it's not really beginner friendly if I have to pull up other tutorials to get it done
@@YasmineSDJ like mentioned at the beginning of the video, it’s not a tutorial to learn how to crochet. In crochet, you will always find new stitches that you won’t know and you’ll have to find other videos to learn it. It’s part of the learning curve 🙂
mine keeps getting tangled up and knotting
@@aburrows207 Those are basic things, you should learn that first, it's not her fault.
I absolutely LOVE this pattern. It's so simple and easy. I made over a dozen within a week. Thanks for sharing.
I love how you add the worded version and the visual version of the project in the same video! I love it because you can read the written version but if you don't understand it you can watch the video. Wonderful! Keep up the great work!
This is the first thing I ever crocheted. My baby turned out amazing! Great tutorial! I didn’t have the eyes, so I stitched them on.
Thank you!! Congrats!
How did you stitch them on? I don’t have the eyes either.
I used a blunt needle and embroidery floss to make eyes (and a little smile) and it came out pretty cute!
I made myself some of these adorable octopuses! They are so cute and easy to make! ❤️😄
Thank you :) !
I made this tonight and I am tickled pink! I love it! Thank you so so much for taking the time to film this tutorial! I appreciate you!
This is the second amigurumi I made this week after learning the basics of crocheting and I'm in love with these little guys. The curly tentacles are adorable! For sure going to make more in various colors to really get some of these techniques down. Thanks so much for the tutorial!
Absolutely love this pattern… I made two, one straight after the other. Super easy to follow as a beginner. Thank you
I love this pattern. My friends ask me to teach them to crochet sometimes and if they get the basics (sc, dec, inc, ch, etc.) I direct them to this pattern so they can see the cute things they can make. It’s one of my favorites.
This is one of the best made videos I’ve seen, great job! I was looking for a pattern that I didn’t have to sew the tentacles on. This is perfect for keychains. Thank you.
I'm glad you like it :)
Awesome tutorial I’ve made several of these after watching, and they are so quick to make too! I’ve stayed away from making octopus plushies because I didn’t want to sew each tentacle but this tutorial is perfect for me great job!!
this is my first time crocheting ever, so idk how itll turn out, but they are so adorable and i can't wait to probably stress out and lie on my floor in frustration until i get it right. trust the process.
How'd it go?
@@sumi3011 it went well! it took me a few tries, but now i have the cutest baby octopus named gerald.
Wow. That was actually a bit easier than I was expecting, I totally feel like I can do this! Thank you for such a straightforward tutorial!
Edit: I actually wrote this 2 years ago and it’s only now that I’ve actually watched this tutorial and done it. I feel like next time will be a lot quicker!
Dang, I wish I could buy the momma octopus pattern 😩 That was so cute when you pulled the babies out
She links the pattern at the end of the video
Only been crocheting for a few weeks and did this quickly and easy. THANKS SO MUCH! These are too cute ❤
I LOVE making these I've made like 4 in the past week. Personally I like making the tentacles a bit longer but I think I've become slightly obsessed with these. They're so cute!
I can make it longer by
Slip stitch ,chain 6 8x
Just finished this today! It was one of my first crochet projects and i absolutely love my cute little octopus♡
I've only been crocheting for about 3 weeks but by reducing the speed on this video, I was able to make the CUTEST BABY OCTOPUS. The steps were so clear and I love that I could watch the entire process. Thank you so much for sharing this!
This was my first project with crocheting and I think it turned out pretty amazing!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, it was so easy to follow, thank you again!
I just finished making 1 and I am very proud of myself right now. Thank you for the amazing tutorial. ❤
I love the way you do your magic circle! I haven't seen it done this way yet. Love it!
I'm still learning and made this as my fist project, it looks so cute and turned out surprisingly alright 😁
Thanks for the great instructions!
I’m going to teach this in my class on Outschool. Your tutorial was great!! I followed along and I’m just about finished. It’s adorable and the kids are going to love it. 😍 Thanks so much!! Subscribed.
really like this tutorial. It is so explicit. And the octopus turns out so cute!! I've done a few of these because it is so calming to make them. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this extremely clear and concise tutorial 😭 just finished making one for my friend and have decided to make an entire army of these cuties~ it was really easy and only took me around an hour as a beginner as well! Thank youuuu~~~
Thank you! My first two crochet creations are largely thanks to you! (baby jellyfish and baby octopus). Your generous knowledge sharing has brought me so much joy. Bless your good heart. ❤️
this is my first ever amigurumi and im so happy
You’re welcome! Congrats!
This was my first amigurumi as well, and mine turned out the same way! I had to stitch the eyes on to mine because I didn't have safety eyes. I will tomorrow though!
my first one too.
I think you should make a bee first it is very easy and it will train you about the basics
same! I have a 6 tentacle octopus and I'm proud of it
I am a beginner, and I do struggle. This is my first project. I know how to make a magic ring, but I struggle with that most. This looks like a nice and easy thing to start with. I'm using a fluffy yarn and can't wait to see how it turns out. Great tutorial!✨
hi! how did it turn out?
I know you said this was for people who already know how to crochet, but I had no idea what a magic ring even was and was still able to follow this really easily! Your hand motions were clear and made it obvious what you were doing, and you still explained the increases and decreases which was helpful! I'm about halfway through this project, decided it needed the eyes that I don't have after all, so I've ordered some eyes and will put this lil guy away until those arrive, but so far this has been really good, even for a super beginner like me!
I didn’t have any eyes, so I did a surface stitch for the eyes. Super simple to do. They have videos on UA-cam of surface stitches.
why are there dislikes on this video. it's so cute and a great learning excercise!!!
Thank you 💕
Ikr!
I've been waiting SOO long to make one of these, now I FINALLY made one... even though I should probably be studying, but that's besides the point, thank you!
Made my first one last night. So cute. I'll be making many more. Thank you :)
My project for the morning! Thanks ! Also I love how you say tentacles! ❤️
This help so much ( I repeated this vid 13 times but still this is the only one that helped me) im a beginner and If you are struggling at first, dont worry practice makes it better so i recommend absolute beginners to study for the abbreviation so that it will be easy for you to do the stitch
wanted to thank you for this tutorial - this was my first project ever and it's so much fun. it helped me learn how to read patterns and how to work in the round, and I'm going to make tons of these for everyone I know.
Thank you!! You can find my most recent tutorial here! ua-cam.com/video/voc6PtZhms8/v-deo.html
