TO MAKE THIS EXTREMELY LONG STORY VERY SHORT... THE EVIL DEAD (1981) IS MY ENTIRE LIFE, A 24/7 THING FOR ME, EVERY FREAKING SECOND, AND THE ULTIMATE EDITION 3-DISC SET... IS EVERYTHING AND SOOOOO MUCH MORE !!!!!.
NOTE: The 3-Disc Set Ultimate Edition was re-released in 2020 and 2021 as well, it has 100% the EXACT same discs, 100% the EXACT same content, and 100% the EXACT double-sided poster !!!!!.
I always wished that they re-release The Ultimate Edition, I never thought that they were going to make it, but they did, the set is different but ALL the content is 100% THE SAME !!!!!. 😍💘🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋💘😍

Also, I advise you to NEVER in your life get rid of that Ultimate Edition 3-Disc Set !!!!!.
Because I repeat: It is the ONLY WAY... to have the movie in its two original formats (Full Frame and Widescreen) and both versions 1000% UNALTERED, but TOTALLY, COMPLETELY UNALTERED and with its ORIGINAL COLOR TIMING !!!!!.
The PUREST transfer is in that 3-disc Definitive Edition, and what I mean by the PUREST Transfer ?????, well, again: the ORIGINAL Theatrical Print, with EXACTLY those colors, that grain, and those dirt spots, The Definitive Edition is ABSOLUTELY the ONLY way... to see the film 1000% as people saw it in theaters.
THAT CAN'T BE BEAT.
Is the 4k version not the best?
Evil Dead is owned by Lionsgate. Army of Darkness is Universal & Scream Factory owns those rights.

I’m pretty sure that the bonus disc is a reprint of the bonus disc from the limited edition blu ray that collected all the special features from the ultimate edition dvd onto 1 disc.

I gave my codes away too. This is very hard to get hold of now as I bought mine 2yrs ago off Amazon and they no longer have it. Strange thing is Evil Dead 1-2 4k+Bd are region 1 locked. Ash Vs Evil Dead are region free
Nice discussion! I have 1 & 2 on 4k and I keep holding out for a boxset of all three in a 4k set. I began to feel like it will never happen, but hey we got Halloween and F13 so I can hope!

Great Answer for favorite movie; I would have probably said Blade Runner but could have easily answered John Carpenter's The Thing, Return of the Living Dead OR my favorite deadite film, Evil Dead II.

I had a different version of the DVD that had the ladies of evil dead doco. Stupidly, I sold that dvd years ago when I got the bluray.
On the bluray there's a bonus feature of the cast at comicon or something, and they're handing out copies of the DVD I had.
Kind of a green cover, with The Evil Dead written really big over the whole cover like:

Anyone know if Lionsgate digital codes still work after they expire? Thinking about picking this up but I want the digital codes also.

You can't display it on the Shelf without obscuring 25 Blu Rays

You bought that disneyfied skywalker saga trash? I'm sorry but that loses a LOT of points in my book. I enjoy fan made 4K original prints of the trilogy. All the "official" stuff is complete crap.

@@minutiaminute There are only two ways to watch Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi in 4K. The original prints, scanned by professionals and producing glorious results for Harmy and Team Negative1.

I can't believe Possession ( Gwyneth Paltrow, Aaron Eckhart) isn't on BluRay yet. I'm looking forward to Amadeus on 4k this year. I disliked the Director's cut. The additional 20 minutes not needed.

Neat looking set, but for me personally, I HATE these wide book style box sets. The Harry Potter set is the same way and they just don’t sit well on the shelf.

Love your passions for Evil Dead. I agree Evil Dead 2 is in my top 5 movies and Evil Dead in general is in my top 3 trilogies of all time. The other two being Lord of the Rings and Back to the Future. Also have that Anchor Bay version of Evil Dead. IT's such a good set. Getting my 4k evil dead collection today. so excited.

I think I'm finally going to order this today. I finally have a 4K player but no 4K discs. I've been trying to decide what should be my first 4K purchase. I think this is it.
NICE! Love that story. I take longer to upgrade sometimes becauae i want that perfect upgrade disc. Ever since The Matrix on DVD. Blade runner the final cut on bluray.
