- A step-by-step Walkthrough of Spawned Fear (Doom 64, Map18) for the PC, played through Steam, on the Watch Me Die! difficulty setting. 100% Kills, 100% Items, and 100% Secrets.
MAP18: Spawned Fear is the eighteenth map of Doom 64, designed by Randy Estrella. This level contains the secret exit to MAP31: In The Void. It uses the music track "Warped". The level itself consists of exploring a large hellish library and exploring some large dangerous caverns which are filled with monsters.

10:31 - Secret 3 - Plasma Gun.
14:10 - Secret 4 - Mega Sphere and Ammo.

5:41 you’re correct about that switch lowering the bars in front of the blue key.
I just played this map and had this guide pulled up. I never touched that switch and was able to get the blue key by shooting the switch like normal. I never saw any bars by the blue key
and I'd say a cryptic commentary at the beginning is very, very fun.ass Soul.😊😊😊

5:41 BMD, the switch lowers the bars by the blue key so you can access it when u shoot the switch to bring down the platform

I tested this and i got the blue key just fine..
Same. I just played this map without ever touching the mystery switch. I was able to get the blue key without issues and never saw any bars in front of the blue key

3:19 that reminded me of your Doom 1 walkthrough of house of pain, where the "3 stooges" were demons and they were getting caught in the doorway of that "stupid puzzle."

Not bad singing! Wow BMD! That was unexpectedly cute. Three stooges!? Lol. More cool candles and another library. In the toxic floor room, those faces looked like the Wizard of Oz. Oh no, a mystery switch. Someone should be able to find out what it does. Love the dark room candles too. Nice light switch I have to say. Cool secret room area. Ssssssh! Not the "Q" word! Purple dudes attack! Interesting exit too! So much fun. Go Doom Guy! Great job BMD! Oh and I can't wait til the spooky, fog filled area!
The only thing I don't like about this map is that the brown canyons are hidden away behind something as cryptic as a barely indicated bookshelf. I remember running around for a while before discovering what I was supposed to do.

The PAIN ELEMENTAL TRAP with the DEATH PIT actually varies from 2-4 PAIN ELEMENTALS (rarely 5) before 5 HELL KNIGHTS spawns. This map is PAIN ELEMENTAL HEAVY anyways.

I just wanted to say that like many others I really like your content. It is not much about the games you play, or how good are your guides... (Even if they indeed are really good.) but more about you. I discovered your channel when I needed a guide on how to 100% Ultimate Doom, about 4 years ago. Once I finished the game I just went my way, like many of your viewers did.
But then sometimes I came back, not because I needed a guide on something, but because I was attracted to your content. It was pleasing to listen to you.
Now, I watch your videos on occasions. When I remember your channel, I come up and watch some random videos. They're always chill and sometimes really funny.

I came to the realization that Cacodemons are not as sweet as you may think. Cacodemons are basically floating farting gas balls that consumes a lot of meat, spits fireballs at you, and has two literal buttholes in his design. they're pretty nasty creatures and they love it. with the exception of the Spider Mastermind, ALL demons in Classic Doom are Male. and based on how disgusting they can be from fat boys with flamethrowers to farting floating boys to belching floating boys to zombies with green hair to those Cybers with buns, I think it's safe to say that all demons in Doom are essentially Dude Bros! why? cause they act like aggressive teenage boys who likes to fart and belch and puke scream and yell and throw things and grin at you because they're evil demons and they enjoy it! XD

I also love this map a lot, it's a huge and very long level, but the atmosphere and "music" make it a quite unsettling and hellish experience. I do feel some of the progression in the map is a bit cryptic, though - like the bookcase and platform switch to shoot.
For the second day in a row I watched videos from Dwars then Decino and now you bigmacdavis. What are the odds? 19:43 I normally backtrack to get the mega sphere before exiting the secret exit

Not a bad map if I do say so. But oh that next secret map is going to be a doozie here. Maybe next time I should use UnMaker on Pain in the ass Elementals from now on. 🤔Oh well aside from that, another fantastic walkthrough well done! 😀👍

What's more painful about those elementals is when a lost soul fails to spawn properly, it acts like an explosive barrel. So given the cramped places they're always placed at, any souls spawned by the elementals will more than often detonate. They're a walk- I mean floating level hazard too.
It would be very amusing if there was a "philosophical dialogue gun" that made the demons engage in dialogue with DoomGuy

9:12 I believe there is a timer here. The reason the third pain Elemental didn't spawn was because you took a few seconds before attacking the first one. The very moment the first PE spawns, there's a timer set for the hell knights to spawn afterwards, so you can quite literally stay out of the first PE line of sight and still have the hell knights to spawn after the time is out. When I played this level two days ago, three spawned for me but that was because I immediately got rid of the elementals as they were spawning, which matched the timer for the hell knight spawn.
Thank you!!!! A proper explanation. Someone else in the comments said anywhere from 1 to 5 will spawn, but no mention of a timer. Now it all makes sense.

Too be honest I’ve been watching your half life 2 walkthroughs. The antelope guards remind of the beserker of gears of war in some ways.
Great video bmd more fun facts for ya did you know that the person who's face was used to create max payne is non other than the script writer of the game sam lake although in max payne 2 instead of sam lake timothy gibs' face was used to create max payne and in max payne 3 his voice actor james mccaffrey's face was used so yeah max's look has changed throughout each game
You have run into that spawn bug a few times now in this LP.
Terrific playthrough BMD. This map looks like another map you played, lol. Remember? It was the one I think you did a stream with some months ago....one of the few I can catch. You couldn't find a secret. It was in a stone area just like this one (13:30), and it was a stone panel that rose up. You looked and looked for the secret but couldn't find it, and there was something about the mega armor too....similar to the one here. You couldn't just grab it, you had to maneuver to get it. I think you played this map....and the previous one. Maybe as streams and now as an official playthrough....which is fine, but it's a déjà vu.

That switch those 3 BARONS are guarding will lower the barriers blocking the blue key, if you went to the blue key first, it'll be blocked by the barriers.
Loved this map in my play through, playing it blind is a bit confusing though.

I don't know what it is about Doom 64 but it seems that it just gets a little bit better with map design but maybe that's just me. The tricks and traps of this level are quite interesting. Silly question BMD but which design of the pain elemental do you like the original or the Doom 64 one? I know they both stink but still

This level is good, its feel very lore-theme or stuff like that but the mechanics making the player a pendulum arround the level is annoying.

Since the Unmaker is several times more powerful than the plasma gun at this point, there's no sense in using it.
Wonder why infighting was only allowed in some maps.

Plasma Rifle sucks compared to Unmaker. Only time you should ever use the Plasma Gun is when you don't have the Unmaker.
