Gary Anthony Williams plays Stevie's dad on Malcolm in the Middle. He also voices Uncle Ruckus from The Boondocks cartoon. Also Andrew Bryniarski was Max Schreck's son Chip in Batman Returns
Back in the day I was a massive SF2 fan and was super excited to see this movie. When it came out my friend worked at a movie theater and let me in to see it for free saying "It's pretty good, I think you'll like it." After the viewing I was so pissed off I didn't talk to him for a week and for years after in the early days of the net I wrote several scathing reviews. I never watched it again after that first theater viewing until today, and the only reason was because I had so much fun listening to this MD episode (plus it was free on Tubi). Time was extremely kind and I had such a blast watching it, that I watched it again with this MD episode on in the background as a psuedo commentary. Thanks so much Movie Dumpster tm for once again reintroducing me to awesome movies!
This episode had me in stitches from start to finish. I'm around your age and I felt I was watching this with friends while we picked it apart. I love this movie and the nostalgia is strong, but boy is it flawed.
Watched this movie for the first time last night and absolutely loved it. The costumes and on location filming really did it for me and im glad they didnts really date the movie with bad effects. Yo the after credits scene, though! I was not expecting there to be one at all, but it definitely reminded me of the super shredder
This is a seriously good podcast guys even when I disagree it never feels malicious you maintain some semblance of objectivity I hope you can continue to grow this is excellent work binging stuff and it's always great to hear from Kieran 🤘
How did they ever get the rights to use the name Balrog from the Tolkien estate? I had forgotten all about that. Michelle Yeoh was in Discovery and was great. Ming Na Wen was in the Mandalorian but was also great, and they're both super foxy to boot.
Wow, that story about how the combo attack in Street Fighter 2 reminds me of the story around Space Invaders. The story being that originally the aliens was supposed to come down at a fast speed, but all the stuff on the screen was too much for it to process it all at the same time, thus caused slow down until enough of the aliens left the screen. Which kinda unintentionally started the difficultly spike that many games did since then. Funny how sometimes things in video games that became iconic started out as glitches. 😉
The early days if street fighter and moratal kombat had around the same level of plot. Later games is where is the diffrences staring becoming apparent.
There was definitely more lore in those early MK games than SF, but yeah it didn't really go deep until the later MK games. I think they did a great job with the little bit of info they had to work off of, whereas MKA gets less of a free pass for reasons we went into in that episode in Season 1 haha. -Sean
@@MovieDumpster not exactly. For the first two mk and SF games you would get basic set up for the plot and characters, but you would definently need to go to external material if you wanted something a bit deeper. Mk3 is where started making an attempt to bring some of that deeper lore to the forefront.
@@fightingmedialounge519 Oh yeah, that’s what I’m saying! MK3 actually had more lore to pull from, which is what Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is mostly based on, and they screwed it up the most! First movie does way more with a couple of text blocks than the sequel. -Sean

I have always liked this film it's a pure camp cheese B movie but it's fun. I don't get why critics or anyone could hate this film it clearly isn't taking itself seriously and the dude from the Addams Family as Bison is hilarious.

The only ones who pronounce it Ree-You are Americans. Ry-You is how its supposed to be said. But for some reason one american guy said it differently in the media when the SF2 game came out and a lot of lemmings thought thats how its meant to be pronounced.
Hate to break it to you, but it's totally Ree-You. Look it up! Been watching and playing Street Fighter for decades, just listen to how its pronounced in Japanese. -Sean

Kieran is like the Indiana Jones of Street Fighter the Movie artifacts.
Just replace Indy's leather jacket with a denim vest and we're golden!
If you gentlemen still haven't seen Street Fighter Assassin's Fist, you should. It is definitely the best live action adaptation.
How did they ever get the rights to use the name Balrog from the Tolkien estate? I had forgotten all about that.

Damn Keirran you should have did the plot crunch in your '90s presenter voice that was always one of my favorite things from rental reviews.
I tried to watch the Chris Klein audition but after laughing for a minute I was cringing so hard to have to turn it off.
Kieran also has Raul Julia's autograph
Kieran my man. Love to hear you on *any* cast. Keep up the good work!

If you buy the blu-ray steelbook it comes with a Bison dollar 🔥

How, HOW does he like this movie so much????
He just does, no shame in that!
Never watched this movie in English. During the fist minute of this podcast, I thought I was listening to Gomez Addams.
I would take on Kieran for a shot at the tittle of biggest Street Fighter movie fan.
RE 7 reminded me of playing RE 2 the original for the first time. Its a toss up between 2 and 7 for favorite RE games.
I actually enjoyed watching this movie and have it. Have a great day.
Love these 'movie videogame' episodes. Hope you do D.O.A Dead or Alive as well 😅
