Her vowels are so much more open on the English version! But you have to listen to it the right way. You have to be in a black, dark room, with the light of a single candle illuminating you and blare it with a great surround-sound system. . It’s worth the set up. Her voice will engulf you. It will shake your soul. This woman knows no bounds

If I recall correctly, JJ Goldman didn't want Celine to blow off the roof every time she sang. He wanted to bring a little more sweetness to her voice as if she had a baby in her arms. That's what he wanted on the D'eux album.

the lyrics are not suitable for going bigger, because the last phrase basically means I don't know (je sais pas), she goes powerful when she is mentioning everything unimaginable she can actually imagine happening, but life without you I don't know, there she is so unsure that's why she is holding back, I think the way she sang fits the emotion of the lyrics and can't be done any other way.

She didn't hold back it's the vowels in the French version the American version has A's and o's the French version has e's. The American version is 10 times more powerful
