There's actually a reason it's only vaguely Astray-ish. In canon, the Outframe was built out of parts of a second Testament unit. It's called an Astray because Lowe Guele is the one that finished it.
this Gundam is actually used by a photo journalist hence the "gun camera" and is more of a "civilian use" MS but the pilot sometimes get into fights as well acting like he's freaking Spider-Man of a photo journalist or something, lol.
The core of this kit is actually the X-Frame, not the Astray (which makes sense since the Out Frame is not derived from tbe Astray whatsoever). That is fine because the X-Frame kits are pretty much all spectacular. I had more fun with this one than the Testament. The detail pops more on the Out Frame D. Honestly, I would have preferred the regular Out Frame since I like the waist and leg armor and stompier feet on that more. The other thing not included that would have been great is actual beam signs and beam shields in addition to beam saber blades. Oh well, still fun. Now I wish Bandai would make a Back Home for the Out Frame D. Or maybe the G-Flight striker pack. Overall, this kit was a great basic build.
Man that suppressed smg-looking gun and the backpack is pretty awesome, I'm not the biggest fan of the MS design but the equipment would make me consider getting it.
Such a solid kit. I prefer the testament since the backpack rules and the actual kit is cheaper xD I wanted this for my astray collection but this one was just too expensive for what it is.
wasnt a fan of the vfins and the cameraman concept. the thrusters being attached to the subarm instead of being fixed to the backpack also make it feel like its going to be a pain in the ass
Actually from what you've explained from the un-boxing, when looking at the runners, is the inner frame parts are actually from the 2012 MG Seed- G-Project kits that came out, like the MG Duel Gundam Assault shroud, the MG Blitz, the MG Buster, the MG Aegis, and the 2013 MG Aile Strike Gundam Ver. RM, and then lastly the MG Strike Rouge Ootori Unit Ver. RM. I think this may be one of most un-astray MG Astray kits out there (from the build point of view) other than may be the MG Testament Gundam. I've built a few MG Astrays, and was going to pass on this one but now I think I'm going to have to see if I can find it now... lol... plus, it's a really cool looking version of the Astray... and it's outer armor does have that Astray vibe but also the the Strike Gundam too.. nice review man
testament is a sister unit to freedom, justice, and providence. out frame is largely a duplicate of it hacked together out of spare parts and scraps. there is nothing astray about it other than in name, because the builder thought it was amusing to name it all wrong. bandai made the two kits out of the seed remaster GAT frames instead of freedom's frame because they too, thought it would be funny to make things even more confusing like that
The 3rd Party of this kit costs, with shipping, about twice the official. There is a good reason for that, the original design this kit is based on, from the novels, not the anime, had a full set of pubic hair.
Theoretically, this gundam can’t be destroyed because cameraman never dies.
This is litterally my 3rd time seeing u

You're goddamn right

Lights, Guncamera, ACTION!!!!!!
Yooo, it's the "caught yo ass in 4k" Gundam!

Got this guy coming soon…what sold me was the camera weapon gun thingy lol

I like this design. Hopefully there's a release of a smaller size.
I remember seeing a book review about the Astray Out Frame D one time and it's modifications. The model is amazing with a film camera.

The MG Testament was a fantastic kit. I wasn’t as big on this variant of it so I skipped this release.
5:35, yeah it looks like Barbatos and Astray had a baby and that's the combined fins on it's head.
Very cool and unique kit with its camera weapon
The P-Bandai water slides aren't always just the MGs. I built the HG Origin FA-78, and that came with water slides. Awesome kit too.
On the plus side, at least the neck now has more articulation. :P
The best astray for me.
🚀Love the unique Astray design, great review!👍
something to rival jesus yamato's plot armor:

So we got a pbandai of a very unknown astray/teatament variant but we havent got an MG Ewac Jegan/Zaku yet?
Alright!
You lost the neck piece Zaku! Im going to have to reduce your Master Gunpla rating from 10 to 9! 🤣

Hey, Zaku, should I preorder the FAZZ for 130 dollars? I am financially sound I just don't know if I can find a place to put it...
Did you pull the trigger? I got the kit and I think it's fantastic
please tell me there's some way to get the camcorder other than this kit
Nope! But maybe you could find someone selling a 3D printed version?
@@ZakuAurelius waiting for the chinese to save the day again...
but is it compatible with the Destiny Gundam's Backpack? or will they release this again as the Destiny Gundam Astray Out Frame D
Not compatible with Destiny Gundam's backpack, BUT compatible with Destiny Impulse Gundam's backpack, since it uses the Striker Pack system.
@HidaAtarasi Oh. I thought the mg Destiny used the same connectors, but oh well. Works for me, then
nice

First comment :) The Astray looks good although it isnt my favorite.
astray outframe, AFTER a certain 3rd party made one, and bandai closed down their company. hmmmmmm

WHAT
this suit wasn't in an anime tho, nor a novel.
