Underrated Sandler movie is "Bulletproof". It's not a Sandler-schtick movie, but more-so a buddy cop comedy in the style of 48 hours, Lethal Weapon, and Rush Hour, that pairs Sandler with Damon Wayans right after he did another one of my favorite 90's comedies: Major Payne. You got James Caan as the main villain, and Bull Hurley (from "Over the Top") as Caan's main muscle for his gang. Tons of action, lots of laughs (even with Sandler being kinda reserved) and an overall heartfelt story between 2 friends. I highly recommend it.

2:15 Adam Sandler’s TV career actually started 1987 on MTV’s “Remote Control” game show hosted by Colin Quinn. Sandler’s role was to act out characters like “Stud Boy” that provided clues to answer the game’s questions. His characters were kind of his training for his SNL Weekend Update appearances like “Opera Man”. His inane humor got me immediately. So if you’re a Sandler fan, then search for old runs of MTV’s “Remote Control” to watch the start of his career; with all the talent he had so young.

Also, the teachet/love interest was recast partway thru. That's why alot of her scenes feel awkward, she was rebooting stuff that had already been shot with the first actress.

I could argue that "I'll Tumble for ya" does make sense in this moment -- He is essentially assuring his father that he will "tumble thru the educational hoops for him" to make his father happy.

I can honestly see Farley adlibbing his lines. SNL wrote his skits around his personality. He was basically himself in the movie. I remember watching a documentary about Farely and each of his former cast members/friends all said he was always full of energy and at the same time way too hard on himself.

  • @MosHighChadro

"That Veronica Vaughan is one piece of ace.. I know from experience."-Farley
    "No you dont"-Sandler
"Well not me personally, but a friend I know.. Him and her got in on! Wooo Weee"-Farley
    "No they didn't"-Sandler
"No, No they didn't, but you can imagine what it would have been like if they did. Eh, eh".-Farley

Minty, no disrespect, as I'm a long time viewer and fan of your videos... I don't know what your source is on the fact about Sandler making "Billy Madison" because he was fired from SNL. As you mentioned, the movie was released in February 1995. Sandler was a cast member on SNL until May 1995. So the movie was made during the summer break from SNL, in 1994.

No he’s not. You people who say that Chris Farley was a legend dont even know what a legend is. A legend is a popular icon who had a long successful career... that was Not Chris Farley! He only had a few moments of being funny on SNL then only had 1 hit movie which was Tommy Boy, then he went to shit. Every movie that followed Tommy Boy was a flop, then he died. That’s Not legendary status
