- Using the Bag Hide to video deer in a local woodland.
This is not an advert, I just want to pass information on regarding what I use/new kit I have purchased.
I quick search of the internet will bring up stockists for this bag hide.
Thanks for watching.
Steve.
I'm really envious Steve. I'd love to be able to get to see this amount of wildlife, especially deer. Gorgeous woodland... You're a very lucky fella. Cheers.
Paul Messner
Hi Paul. It's all about patience and keeping track of wind directions. Thanks for watching. Steve.
A great piece of video...Looking forward to the next one.
Loved your choice of music to start the film some lovely footage and sounds.
What I miss in the all the bag hide designs is none use a 3d leaf pattern. I use a smock, over trousers face hood and gloves which have 3d leaf pattern. No messing about and very mobile. A ghillie suit.
Just recently came across both of your channels and we are loving them!.. very well done, informative and just stunning vistas..
It's nice to see the different terrain and flora and fauna from the Canadian wilderness.. keep up the great work!

Thank you! Very much appreciated. Thats what I love about UA-cam, it's seeing all the different types of habitats, what is common to someone, is new and amazing to others. I love videos from the Canadian wilderness, we have so few truly wild places left in the UK! Steve.
There are other alternatives besides bag hide that you can use it to take deer shots actually. In some videos about using camouflage. They use a wired netting like a chiken wire or decorative net to make hides. Then use the environment like the foliage to make a hide from there. Other alternatives is to use a Military Grade poncho and a sniper veil to your advantage. But downside to this is that poncho often times reflect sun light from the waterproof fabric they use and then you need to use the shadow to your advantage. Also it does not have a good space for you to move around. I did found out that from the environment if you have a brier patch or bushes you can cut the unwanted branches from inside and make that into a hide. All you need is a insulating mat, chicken wiring, and a twine or snare wire to attach the netting to the bush inside.
Fantastic picture and great video 👍🏽
William Hector
Thanks William. Steve.
Some very nice footage 🦌🦌 im thinking of investing in a hide myself
Regards Andy.
What a fabulous video, Steve. It's amazing just how close those deer with get in order to satisfy their curiosity and of course with thanks to your amazing hide. I shouldn't be surprised at the results really, since your human outline has for all intents and purposes now vanished from sight. Awesome shots from your side, but my guess is that you've done this sort of work before now. Well done, the results are highly enjoyable and entertaining. I'm going to see what my partner and I can do this year, it's an incredibly exciting challenge. Thanks, Steve. Take care...
John King
Cheers John. I was pleased when the female actually sat down in front of me, she obviously didn't think of me as danger, the wind then changed and then she was off.
Hope you get to see great things this year. Cheers, Steve.
Subscribed just found your site just bought one from Lenscoat took a month to come through but looking forward to using ii now in the field.
good for watching doggers.
A nice bit of portable gear for blending in. As for video style, as discussed in other comments, I like this length first of all. As for building a story, it depends on what clips you have to assemble -- sometimes they work as a narrative, sometimes forcing a narrative can feel just that, forced, so let the material guide you (can you tell I've worked as an editor and writing prof?). I do like hearing you talk about certain elements -- it was a nice level of talk to image in this one -- but it certainly isn't something always needed. Nice to be out in the woods with you again.

I'm trying to keep my videos less than 10 minutes. By looking at the analysis of individual videos, you can tell most people skip, but even so, 10 minutes is a long time to ask anyone to spare, so I do appreciate any time at all. My main concern is keeping people's interest. I like to make clean edited videos, and talking does get in the way, So I try not to over do it.
Your work history goes to explain your eloquent comments, you always seem to sum up mine and others videos, they are most appreciated, thanks for taking the time. Steve.
great shots again.. ..I'm behind with my footage, i will work on it, got some nice things. .
..haha as "hide" I use the Toro 4000. works a treat for spotting wildlife!

It was a choice between a Bag Hide or a 4000, it was a difficult decision? Looking forward to seeing what you have recorded. Steve.
Wild Nature Views I was wondering about the format at david uitzendbureau. . ..should I put every capture in a singel film or just put a months worth of captures in one vlog..? What would you like best?
Wild Nature Views the 4000 requires actual Work! bahg

I've been wondering about that myself? I can't get out of the habit of creating a story (my plan was to show little clips) I don't know which works better? I've learnt through my my C Veg channel is that people like talking on the videos it adds a bit of connection? I feel the clips need to work together, like a day walk or a compilation of one species of animal? I know neither of us do it for views, but it's nice to get some positive feedback. I like the editing side to it so I build a story.
Which bag hide was this, sorry if I've missed where you mentioned it? Great video, gonna have to break out my hammock and venture out - thanks a lot.
Mike Fletcher
Hi Mike. It's from the Wildlife Watching Suplies website. It's the C33 throw over hide. I do like it, it makes a good camera rest (like a bean bag) a blanket and of course a hide! Cheers, Steve.
Many thanks, will have to get one. Oh, and i've just dug my hammock out the loft - I feel an adventure to Sherwood Forest is long overdue! Thanks for the reply, love your videos!
Mike Fletcher
Cheers Mike. Hope you have a great time. Steve.
Please provide with the link to buy the hide. Thanks
I got it from wildlife watching supplies. Steve.
Can just get a burqa , great photo blind !
Funny you should say that - I was thinking about a burqa. But they're mostly black. You'd need a big roomy one.
Great video. Is the hide water proof and can it be used with a rifle,,,,,,
