Thank you for that video! Always sooo helpful to actually see the steps being performed. One thought I had - when re-installing the slave cylinder, maybe the master as well, wouldn't it be easier to install the hard line first before bolting things down? Even just re-threading it in without actually tightening it yet would seem to make it much easier to install the hard line without risking damaging the threads while screwing it in.
My prior issue not shifting into gear turned out to be a bad clutch. Dealer fixed and gave me some parts back. The clutch was *really* bad - a couple of the disc plate buffers were broken into pieces. I suppose after 140k of medium to heavy use I can't complain, but dealer charged possibly double what an independent mechanic would have charged.
Getting ready to do this work. 2006 scion tC, won't shift into gear while the engine is running. I've tried bleeding the clutch and continue getting very small air bubbles, almost more of a very tiny amount of foam. It seems like a leak to me somewhere. But the slave rod seems to have full movement when the pedal is depressed. I'm going to examine the lines for any signs of a leak. But a general question - could an air leak anywhere, even if small, cause this symptom of the clutch not fully disengaging, enough to prevent any ability to shift while the engine is running? I'm guessing yes. And could the air leak be from a seal failure in either master or slave cylinder?
@@theimportschannel86 Liked and Subbed! I replaced the Slave and the car still won't shift into gear while the engine is running, but it will shift when the engine is off. Should I replace the clutch master cylinder next do you think?
LMAO. “It’s a mix of 3 & 4”. Dude, before you say something on the World Wide Web, maybe do a minutes worth or research. 3 and 4 are not mixed, it means that it meets the minimum standards of both.

The lines are pretty strong, in my experience, it’s always the master cylinder.
I have. Same issue u sort urs out
It's not a TRUE car repair until you drop some kind of 10mm wrench!
Thanks for posting. What size was the special tool you used on the line connected to the slave cylinder? And what's the name of it again?
Hi, this is what it’s call:
Metric Flare Nut Line Wrench for Removing or Replacing Nuts on Fuel, Brake or Air Conditioning Lines.
Good luck!
Thanks for the video! I knew how to do it but cool to see how exactly on this vehicle! Your content is apprecaited!

@@YokosoOtaku, how is the clutch pedal ?
@@theimportschannel86 the clutch pedal has been completely normal
@@YokosoOtaku, if there isn’t any noises coming from the transmission, make sure you don’t have any air in the system.
I changed my clutch master cylinder today but my gear still has trouble engaging do I still need to bleed the system of air ?
Check your slave cylinder and make sure the hard lines and soft ones aren’t leaking.

So when you step on your break pedal. It just go down? Doesnt get the compression
yes, it goes down and you need to lift it with your feet, that’s when you know that your sleeve and master clutch needs replacement.
@@theimportschannel86 Is this for the brake or clutch
@@KingKing_777 hi, it’s for the clutch master and slave cylinder.
Is this the process on an 08 tc manual?
Yes, O5 to 10 gen tC
That’s my brake on my 2008 scion TC
