Taking very close notice of this, such a great value bike. 8:23 You've been spoiled by Spanish weather for too long Nathan, it's been like that in the UK for months!
And you’d be right to take notice. Incredibly good value, great riding bikes. Yes, we do have great weather here. It’s the reason I’d never go back to 🇬🇧.
Ye, there are cons and pros. Possible the only real con nowadays is if your short or you just ride really really technical stuff all day. Other than that I think they’re pretty solid.
Great vid mate. I found the same riding that bike at the Mehring demo day last year. The Slide trail all had similar "light rear" feeling irrespective of the various suspension sets. I ended up with a Jab as I wanted 27.5, but the ST was definitely on the other side of the coin.
That’s good to know. It’s definitely not a bad thing, just need to get used to it I guess. I’m loving that playful feeling, it’s just bounces everywhere. How’s the Jab? It’s a great looking bike.
@@SenderoSeeker I like the Jab a lot. It feels like a small bike when you want it to and a big bike when you need it, if you know what I mean. I stepped up from a 26" epic so was a little worried I'd gone too far or too big with the Jab, but I find it has plenty of stability while still remaining playful too. On the demo day I rode the majority of the day on the Slide Trail 9 and 10 with only about 2 runs each on the Swoop and Jab and it was a tough choice as I really enjoyed the ST a lot too. If I ever get back to Europe I will probably try to do the same and do another demo day before dragging another MTB all the way home to Aus... Maybe even an e-bike...
@@SenderoSeeker more a happy coincidence. being there for 3 months helped. Even less chance of a radon demo day down here. Except if it was just me letting others have a go on mine all day.
Wow, we hav such similar experience on this bike. Had a slide 8.0 last year, shame the frame had a production fault, and the replacement frame had cosmetic faults so after 2 months of waiting i ended trading it in again.. I now have a NS snabb 150.
@@SenderoSeeker i found the bike very light, easy to manouver, very capabable, and fun. Accelerate so fast! Also it climbs great on those Long days out 👍 shame really that they didnt have a new frame for me!

Hello Nathan. I have bought the Slide Trail 10.0 for 2021. They are about to send it soon but now I am having second thoughts. I am afraid of this „lack of stifness” in the rear. I have 80 kg and 193cm so rather heavy rider..... In one review they mentioned that when sprinting the tire was actually rubbing against the frame. There is no actuall fotage/movies of how this bike behaves during rough terain. I wonder if its capable enough... to take some bigger jumps occasionally. Cheers !
I spoke to a few people and the general consensus was that it was the wheel set but I understand that they have put DT SWISS on the 2021 version so I think you should be fine. It’s definitely capable on rough terrain and the bike park even.
@@SenderoSeeker actually the wheels are still „WHEELSETNewmen Evolution SL A.30, 30mm” . At least in Trail 10.0. I tried to get this bike with the DT Swiss wheels but did get „No” for an answer. They cannot change any component. Dt Swiss wheels are in the lower spec Trails (9.0 etc ).
i'm seriously thinking about buying a slide (the one down from yours). is the high seat tube a problem? as i really like to get the seat out of my way when i'm riding.
I think it really depends on your height. I have gotten used to it now, but it does stick out about 3cm or so. Of course there is the option to change the dropper for a shorter one, but that’s more money. Other than that (which is something you can change) I’m finding it to be a great bike. A lot of fun. A lot lore versatile than the swoop.
@@SenderoSeeker how tall are you? Crotch height? What size frame? I'm 183cm with 89 cm leg and I really want to size up to the 22".i know stand over is fine but worries about not being able to get the saddle down far enough. Great video!
@@carsonwarren2069 I'm 177, crotch height no idea. I'm on the 18" frame. I don't know about the larger frames but on mine the seatpost sticks out at least 3,5 cm even when slammed. Apparently you can get this down lower by taking it out altogether and turning the mechanism 90º so it sits further in the frame. Hope this helps.
Thanks 🙏. It’s not kicking, it’s just very light in the back. Someone else commented that they found the same thing with the Slide. The rebound is fine 😎
GRACIAS . espero tu respuesta.

It’s not bad for a bit of variation. I do prefer natural trails though ☺️
