Hey Nathan, great review. I'm the guy who messaged you on FB ;) Looks like the Slide could be the Christmas present to myself this year. It's either that or the Swoop both on 29's now I see. Thanks again for the beta you passed on.
I didn't mention anything in the video, but I'd really appreciate it if you could give the video some love and help it get seen. A like, a comment, subscribe. It all helps. Cheers!
Thanks. Yes, I think they're finally starting to get more attention and it's well deserved. I genuinely love Radon's bikes. So much fun, which for me is what counts! 🤘

Nice vid, Nathan. I own a Slide Trail 9.0 2020 (the golden one). Amazing bike. No flex at all with the DT Swiss M1700 wheelset. Things I have changed/don't like: -SDG grips: really terrible -Stem: got a 35mm one instead of the 50mm -SDG Radar seat: a pain in the ass (literally) May be a little bit on the heavier side for a trail bike, but awesome and playful. Hey Rodrigo. Thanks for the comment. Glad to hear we coincide on our thoughts, I'd forgotten to mention the saddle :) Apparently this year's model does better with the contact points; saddle and grips. Also, you're the second person to mention that there's no flex with the DT Swiss wheels, it must be the Newmans. Good to know it's not a frame issue. Saludos!
Thanks for the good review. I've been looking at the Radon Skeen Trail 9.0 or 10.0 CF and been looking for reviews but in vein. Can you help me out on that? I ride mostly XC/TRAIL so need to know it's climbing ability. Also is the frame reliable. I don't intend to change bikes.
Thanks! I haven't ridden the Skeen model so I'm afraid I can't comment on how it rides. What I can tell you is that my own bike, the Swoop AL 8 from 2018 is still going strong. The frame is well built and it has taken a lot of abuse. I don't think you'll have any issues with regards to reliability. Sorry I can't help more.
Hi, I own a 2019 Slide Trail 9 and I have upgraded the wheelset with DT EX 1501: I don't feel any flex of the rear, so likely the flex comes from the newmen wheelset, that are built with 2.0-1.65-2.0 spokes instead of 2.0-1.8-2.0 by DT and the newmen rims are also lighter vs the DT enduro rims EX. A friend of mine had the stock DT M1700 and had no rear flex issues. As for the rear suspension, that in my version uses the same DPX2 Factory shock, it comes with the max volume spacer that can be fit in that shock (the 0.6): I felt it too harsh and too much progressive, so I swapped it with the smaller one and getting still a sporty feel, though not harsh and much more traction and control in general. My body weight is 60 Kg. What was your feeling about progressivity of the rear end? Have you checked the spacer volume inside the DPX2 in your 2020, 10 model?
How bad is the rear flex? I have read that the flex is so bad that the rear wheel rubs audibly on the rear triangle. Also, I read that the rear triangle is so tight that a 2.4 rubs the triangle regardless....
Hey Stefano. That's good to know. It would make sense that it was the wheel set. You can't go wrong with DT Swiss ;) The shock on my bike was maxed out with spacers. Too be honest, I loved the feel of the shock. It didn't feel harsh, just very "snappy". Coming from the Monarch the DPX2 feels amazing. I'm heavier than you by 16 kilos, so that might make a difference 😅 Are you enjoying the bike?
@@abhaysamudrasok8663 I have no rub with the DT EX 30 mm internal diameter and DHR 2.4 WT. The clearance is very tight, but never heard or seen any rub. My conclusion is the newmen rear wheel flex and not the rear triangle.
I don't know about the 2019 but on the 2020 there is loads of clearance on a 2.4. Yes, the flex is noticeable and if you push the wheel with your hand the rubber can touch the triangle. I never noticed it audibly though.
@@SenderoSeeker Thanks, that helps a lot... I am looking at the Slide trail as a potential trail bike but was concerned with the flex issues. Thanks again... means a lot guys :)
Hey, thanks for the video. I would like to ask if the bike is swift when going uphill or on the road or it's just a bike for trails and bike parks? Can you imagine doing 50 km/ 35 miles so whole day trip or would you rather choose something different?
