Make a Painter's Palette Pendant: A Silversmithing Tutorial
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- This tutorial shows how to make a fun Piece representing a Painter's Palette. I would categorize this project as intermediate. For materials, I used 18 (1.02 mm) gauge sterling round wire, 12 (2.01 mm) gauge sterling round wire, and 22 gauge (.66 mm) or 18 gauge (1.02 mm) sterling sheet, and 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) fine silver bezel in 28 gauge (.33 mm) cut much shorter. As always, I use hard silver sheet solder and My-T-Flux.
If you see a piece you'd like to purchase in one of my videos, contact through my website link further down in the description.
It is important to use safe practices when dealing with fire, sharp tools, and chemicals. Here is a video on safety: • General Silversmithing...

You are really cranking out GREAT content, Chad!
I’m so glad you are enjoying it Ann!
Hello everyone. I've been watching your videos with interest for a long time and I get knowledge, inspiration and experience from it, which everyone needs. The palette you made is brutal, easy and very impressive. I will try to make it myself. Greetings from sunny Bulgaria.😳
Greetings from Colorado NEZOMBE! Thanks!
Gorgeous! Love the attention to detail on the paintbrush.
Thank you Deb!
This is a banger idea brother.
Thanks John:)
I’ve been wanting to make a paint palette. Thanks for the tutorial!
My pleasure Johanna!
I am a painter 👩🎨 and find this pendant inspiring !!!! 😅
Thanks Rippy! I'm glad:)
What a brilliant idea! Turned out really nice 😊
Thanks Elin!
So creative!
Why thank you!
You make this look so easy! You would be an awesome person to apprentice for. If you have any rough tourmaline or aquamarine, could you show us a beginner friendly way to set them? I love the look of the crystals, but I don’t know how to securely set the odd shapes.
Thanks Kylenee! I will try to do something like that in the near future. Thanks for the good idea:)
Super cute 😍
Thank you! 🤗
Wow love this thanks for the tutorial ❤😊
Glad you liked it Jakki!
❤
Thanks again WizardKitty:)
Hi. Great video! I wondered why you sometimes don't flux the entire piece before soldering, rather than just the spot to be soldered. I always thought you had to flux the whole piece to avoid fire stain. Is it just torch skill, since you get the solder to flow quickly before any fire stain can happen?
Fire stain is sometimes a problem for me. This piece had some difficult spots to polish. I have some anti fire stain flux. I’m going to try to see if that is effective or not. I usually only have problems with it on pieces where I have to reheat a bunch of times during assembly. Keep watching and I’ll try it out in an upcoming video!
@@chadssilversmithing That would be great! Thanks!
A little x-tra!
That is very generous Ann! Thank you!
How did you know to make that for me! ❤😊
Hehe:)
I literally said aloud (by myself at my desk) "Thats so cool". My husband in a completely different room, asked, "Whats cool" and i showed him. This is really a beauty of skill and creativity in one. I LOVE when there's a little "different" or "creative" aspect to jewelry pieces. 🫶
Thanks Quantum Girl:)
