His priorities seemed to get a bit skewed after his marriage, and I think that's what has upset people, he's turned his back on, well, everything and everyone: long time friends, family, even his charities and military duties since he married Meg. Which, if the rumors of issues in their marriage are true, will not bode well for him because he will have no one around to support him if she sets him adrift. She's not silly, she knows the royal link is useful, but they've said and done so much since leaving, it's damaged their reputations, and I can't see how they will regain the general publics good graces.
I was so happy Harry was marrying a strong independent woman, who knew what life in the public eye was like BEFORE the wedding, unlike Kate who had zero experience. The fact she was American was amazing too! But whilst they seemed great together at first, they seem to be feeding into each others hidden toxic traits, which lots of people can unknowingly have, hence why some newly appointed managers turn into jerks after their promotion. And it's not doing them any good. They are trying to live and act like royalty, in America, which isn't working. If they want a private life with "private" jobs and income, that's great, but they are always in the news, and it's weird how they get there. I mean what photographer is going to hang out at a farmers market in Montecito "on the off chance" that Harry and Meghan will turn up? None. They're wasting time, earning time, when they could be somewhere like LA, or Beverly Hills and almost guarantee seeing 1 celeb or another.
I will say I don't like what's being said about them in the press, they sound be left alone if that's what they want. But they don't help themselves, writing Spare and doing a reality show. That's not privacy, that's putting themselves front and centre in the media, and publics, attention.
But I do think if they want out, then the titles should go. You can't have it both ways, not in the real world at least. And while they still have their titles, they are still tied to, and therefore, albeit inadvertently, representing the royal family, and all it stands for, which, by their own admission, is something they hate. They do seem to be systematically trying to destroy the Royals, which is silly, because if the Royals go, so do their and their children's titles. I'm still confused why they wanted titles for the kids. But, if that's what they want to do, and it makes them happy, and they can leave the royal family alone, then let them have at it, and let sleeping dogs lie.

Why do people assume to know Diana’s thoughts and feelings - she lived an emotionally turbulent life. From week to week she swayed one way and another in her relationship with Charles - and bulimia affects one’s hormones which in turn can affect one’s emotions - and one’s mental clarity. Diana relived her turbulent childlike relationship with her father whilst she was married to Charles
Both men “let her down” and she felt abandoned to the wolves in amongst the fog of her very opulent privileged misery. Same in Harry’s case except he was “abandoned by women”
The signs of this stuck childlike self indulgent acting out is so obvious in the blaming of others for all ones “misfortune” , the refusal to take full adult responsibility for one’s life, numbing out with substances or actions and constant lack of gratitude for the good.
A few other harsh realities which no one mentions - Diana never got past her parents divorce and her fathers new wife - she was prepared to marry a much older man who was in no way comparable with her very young closeted naive mental and emotional condition( her acting out and inability to cope are signs of immaturity- just like Harry stuck in his childhood - history repeating itself.
